Rooting LON 8.0.0.375(c432) - Huawei Mate 9 Pro Questions & Answers

In previous oreo versions I was able to root using the Kangvip ROM installer. Not anymore.
I used the root tool for mate 10 pro, but that factory resets the phone.
Any tips or should I just go with RROS beta?

After a few hours of troubleshooting, I realized that the update had disabled USB debugging. I enabled it again and was able to root the LON 8.0.0.375(c432) using the Kangvip ROM installer.

Honor 5X KIW-L21 and getting a little privacy: what to do?

Hello,
I'm the proud owner of a KIW-L21 (Europe Honor 5x), but with all the bloatware and the lack of privacy in the default rom, I'm a little sad.
To fix this, as you could have guessed I'll need to root the phone (install AFwall + Xposed + XPrivacy, right?).
I plan to unlock the smartphone as soon as emui . huawei . com starts to work for me.
Anyway, I'd be happy to test custom recoveries, kernels/roms if you want help from a L21 user.
My first stop would be custom recovery, so who should I work with in order to bring TWRP for the KIW-L21 (and not the L24) to a working state? or do you think the L24 recovery would be working for the L21?
Thank you in advance.
I've installed twrp l24 and there was a fictional mouse in the middle of a screen, hard to explain. I was wondering if you could flash twrp 3.0 directly without installing l24 version and see what happens? https://twrp.me/devices/huaweihonor5x.html
For that you would need to flash supersu zip through the bootloader (if you prefer app version of twrp) or install .img file from bootloader
A lot of people said that xposed doesn't work; this was for l24 version, don't know if it will work on l21.

Thanks for the link.
For information, the emui huawei com unlock procedure described here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/development/root-kiw-l24-usa-kiwi-t3305190 steps 1 through 7) also works for the KIW-L21.
Next step is the recovery.
For information, flashing twrp following the procedure described here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/development/root-kiw-l24-usa-kiwi-t3305190 steps 8 through 11) also works for the KIW-L21.
Please expect a lots of glitches with the interface, but with a lot of patience, you can flash your zips (for example SuperSU described in the steps 11 to 13).
Next step is the privacy tools' installation: Installation of AFWall+ + AdAway + Xposed framework

HONOR 7 with ANDROID 6.0....

Hi,
I have installed Android 6.0 on my phone. The problem is that I don't have super user access. I have been trying with several versions of SuperSU, even the latest v2.67. Does anybodu know which version works properly or I should roll back to Android 5.0?
Thanks a lot. Cheers
2.62 works just fine. You need unlocked bootloader, then installed TWRP, then installed supersu .zip file using TWRP. I can recommend using MultiTool, will guide you what to do.

Bootloop(kinda) after flashing TWRP

Recently picked up a P8 from someone who had one lying around.
I'm trying to root it but after installing TWRP i keep entering a bootloop which apparentely is counteracted by holding some combination of buttons.
currently im on B222 and i also tried installing marshmallow (stock) from SD which also makes me enter a bootloop and when my phone finally turns on its like it forgot it had a command to update.....
I'm a little lost on what to do now, i tried googling and all that but i cant find similar issues.
You cannot install Marshmallow with a B222 build, so you'll first need to downgrade to a B200 build.
If you are on a C432 (European) build, you can download European B200 directly from Huawei via this link & install it: http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=68483&version=238533
Once B200 is present, if you check via Settings > Update you'll most likely be offered a Marshmallow OTA update. If not immediately or within a few days, then update manually as you tried before, again using a C432 build only.
With Marshmallow installed, you can follow one of these guides to install TWRP & root:
[Guide][Huawei P8] TWRP + Root Systemless Marshmallow Installation (GRA-L09&GRA-UL00)

HELP OP5 won't OTA update after root.

Hello all awesome members, i have searched google, xda and even bing for answers but none have answerd me yet.
So i have an OP5 wich is running Oxygen os 5.1.2 and now i want to update it to the latest.
Things i have tried:
Download and update through the phone updater: Fail
Recovery manager: Fail
ADB sideload: Fail.
To be clear i don't care if i loose root i just want my phone back to fully stock.
So how do i get there? what am i missing?
Can you tell us more details, what ROOT method you are use? If you are using TWRP + Magisk, it's easy to update. Just download Full Update (not OTA) mostly OnePlus 5 will detected if our device ROOTED then will download Full ROM.
Then Goes to Custom Recover, Clear Cache dan Dalvi, install Full Update ROM and flash Magisk again and done

OEM Unlock

Hello, i've installed TWRP, and rooted my sgs8 with magisk, when i was on 8.0 Oreo stock rom, then i did update the software to 9.0 pie, thorught TWRP, using the ROM found on this forum.
Now i'd like to install TWRP and root my device, but the OEM unlock option is gone. And yes, i did wait the 7 days after updating firmware. What should i do? I'm kinda newbie here.
If you installed a custom Pie rom and kept TWRP, and you can access TWRP, you're fine. If it's stock ROM, and you didn't patch RMM, you'll need to re-wait 7 days.
