Hi,
I have installed Android 6.0 on my phone. The problem is that I don't have super user access. I have been trying with several versions of SuperSU, even the latest v2.67. Does anybodu know which version works properly or I should roll back to Android 5.0?
Thanks a lot. Cheers
2.62 works just fine. You need unlocked bootloader, then installed TWRP, then installed supersu .zip file using TWRP. I can recommend using MultiTool, will guide you what to do.

i have been following instructions from http://androiding.how/root-moto-x-pure/
i have everything correct once in flash the latest supersu my device freezes at the boot image of moto.
If you're running MM make sure to use a systemless root.
I can vouch for the 2.62 version working on this phone. It is the only version I've tried.
Versions above 2.62 did not work, although I've seen some discussion in the forum that 2.67 is ok.
I'm on stock MM and am running the traditional root version of SuperSU 2.67.
No issues here.
That looks like a really old tutorial, and some of those links may be way out of date.
The bootloader unlock process hasn't changed (since we're pretty much just using Moto's official method), but you'll probably want to grab current versions of TWRP (3.0.0-1) and SuperSU (either 2.65 Stable or 2.67 Beta), IIRC.
Might also be simpler to use a tutorial here on XDA.
Edit: Don't quote me on this, but some older versions of TWRP may not work properly on the MM bootloader. So it could be that the minimum recommended version of TWPR (for 6.0) is newer than whatever is linked to from that old tutorial, which could explain your issue. If that's the case, updating to a newer TWRP via Recovery or Fastboot might just fix your problem.

So you simply flashed SuperSU 2.67 via TWRP and you have fully functional phone and root?
Interesting, as it does not appear to work for everyone...
Yup. I'm not interested in engaging with the systemless root since it's still so experimental and early. I prefer going with a more stable experience.
Titanium Backup and Xposed are part of my bread and butter software environment. If root were broken, I would damn well know, right? Heh.
Gotta have my GravityBox and Enable Ambient Display...
A few weeks ago, I ditched TruPure and followed a Fastboot-heavy guide in order to restore my phone to stock 6.0. Was a pain, but I powered through.
Then I unlocked my bootloader again (with the same code Motorola provided to me months ago), and flashed TWRP 3.0.0 via Fastboot (later updated to 3.0.0-1 via TWRP itself).
Finally I booted into recovery and flashed SuperSU 2.67 beta and Xposed v80. Installed SuperSU Pro from the Play Store, and have been good to go since.
I'm pretty sure that I've been using SuperSU 2.67 for quite some time now, both on TruPure (up to 2.5 before I ditched it) and on stock MM.
I've been updating SuperSU more or less as quickly as Chainfire has been releasing Beta updates, as I'm pretty sure he's been focusing on MM compatibility fixes in recent months.
I didn't realize there were any issues with flashing (though I think TruPure has SuperSU baked in).
i have latest twrp, i didnt bother with the supersu step, but im currently having issues getting turbo charge to work on any rom i tried...
I flashed 2.66 after running commands in terminal to make root systemless & my phone booted normally.

Hello,
I tried to install the new Nougat rom for jiayu S3, but it was unsuccessful. Phone got soft bricked, but I recovered it with a twrp backup.
My OS is android 4.4.4, and TRWP is 2.8. After installing the new rom , an installation error appeared and phone did not work.
I wonder it it's due to twrp 2.8, but I can't install twrp 3 (S3_h560_TWRP_3.0.2-0). There was an installation error with flashify...
The question is: can I install 7.0 from 4.4? Is it an Android problem, a TWRP issue, or just my clumsiness?
Thank you!

in short:
To go from 4.4.4 to Nougat you need to go via LP RC5 via flashify using firmware upgrade.
This is because the partition layout is different from KK to LP onwards.
Then you can flash Nougat using TWRP (which will be version 3)
Thank you very much for your answer.
Please forgive me for my ignorance but, which LP ROM should I download? Can I install it via flashify, via TWRP 2.8, o flash?
Thank you again!
You can not use Flashify, you have to do it using Flashtools (with a PC) to go from KK to LP. Download LP 5.1.1 RC 5 from MAD.

thanks to correct me, I thought Flashtools was meant
Well, I'm in trouble now... I installed successfully 5.1 in my S3, but when updated twrp 2.8 to 3.0, it did not work, so I can't install Nougat...
Now I have no twrp, and no root. How can I root to install twrp? I can't install superSU neither....
I'm sorry if it has been already answered but I can't find it.
Thanks a lot
I re-installed LP with Flash tools and everything worked right. (In twrp , it says 2.8 version, instead of 3.0, though).
Now I installed Nougat, and everything is ok.
Thank you for your excellent job!
I'm on a B09, bootloader unlocked and rooted with SuperSU 2.65 A2017G.
Except from the 2.65 version, is there another one working for the A2017G?
I want to get Xposed and if I do understand I need SuperSU 2.75 or above to get Xposed to work in systemless.
If there isn't another version could you guys help to get Xposed working on my phone?
That would be much appreciated.
EDIT: Well I'm dumb, I assumed Oki's guide only worked on the A2017U variant. Sorry guys :/
If you have the official version of TWRP you should be able to install the latest version of SuperSU.
Yeah I figured it out with the help of Oki's guide.
Thanks for the answer!
I'm having a problem where many apps do not get root unless I manually open SuperSU, which means that most root apps are not working properly because they can't work automatically. Is there another version of SuperSU or TWRP that I can flash to solve this problem?
I'm on A2017U B29 stock, SuperSU 2.79 flashed from TWRP 3.0.2-2

Did you make sure to disable system write protection? Boot into TWRP, open up the terminal emulator, and issue the command: reboot disemmcwp
I'm having a similar problem while flashing superuser. The error happens after the "patching sepolicy" line runs. The error prevents SuperSU from being installed at all. Any suggestions?
You need to flash twrp 3.0.3 or above and flash SuperSU 2.79
Latest SuperSU Causes Endless Loops on the Axon 7
Literally, every time I install the latest version of SuperSU on my axon I get an endless bootloop. These are SuperSU files I get directly from chainfire's website. There must be something im missing, or maybe im downloading the wrong version? Im not sure i was hoping to get some help. I just tried installing: SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.
>> Can anyone point me in the right direction of the latest SuperSU that works with the Axon 7 that doesnt bootloop it.
I remember that the Pixel phones had SuperSUs that were made for it. I am wondering does the same thing apply here?
I have installed everything right on my phone to the T. Everything was brand new stock.

hello I have tried several applications to try to get root on my redmi 3s device without getting good results. I would like to get root without adb or fastboot, just with some application. I already tried with kingroot, framaroot, a Chinese native etc .... the version that I have installed today is MIUI 10.2 stable version running marshmallow 6.0.0. thanks for helpme:good:
When I wanted to root, I also used all of these apps but they could not root my REdmi 3s. If you have a PC best way is to unlock the bootloader and then install TWRP and then flash magisk or SuperSU zip file.

Yes friend, that is indeed the best way, what I wanted is to find an application that would do it by itself, I think that with the MIUI stable you can not without PC. I already have the bootloader unlocked for years, but I reinstalled the stable MIUI and I left it like that, in the past I tried many ROMs. Thank you very much for trying to help, it does so in console and with the command adb fastboot flash recovery.
AFAIK there might be no app that could root MIUI phones or perhaps newer android versions because I tried using these apps on my Lenovo K8 Note also which is stock Android 8.1 and they couldn't root that either.

Try with magisk.zip.
The problem is this:
I want to root my j500m with magisk via twrp but I would like to know if I can root with my version of android 5.1.1 if there is no problem, or I have to upgrade to 6.0.1 to do the process?
Another thing, that when I install the twrp on my device with android 5.1.1 loads everything well but at the time of powering it clears the operating system of the phone and does not turn on completely, it only stays in the samsung logo and I have to flash the rom of stock to solve it but the recovery returns to stock. The version of the recovery that was installed was 3.0.0-0. I would like to know if it is because I am doing it with android lollipop and I should do it in marshmallow or no matter what version of android you have. Thank you.
use this twrp.and first install Magik apk and flash lastest magisk. zip https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-recovery-pro-galaxy-j5-2015-t3728264
And there's no need to update to Android 6 for root
Thanks, but now I have another problem, I just wrote it in the last message of the forum, if you could help me.
Your twrp version is old 3.0.0.0
download this version 3.1.1.1 official
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j5lte/twrp-3.1.1-1-j5lte.img.tar
and flash use odin.
Thanks friend, I have updated to marshmallow and I have installed the recovery 3.2.1-1 with aroma support, and I have rooted with magisk, now everything is fine.
