If anybody out there who have faced touch issues like
-registering touch input while trying to scroll
-registering double or triple touches while trying to type
-unresponsive PUBG trackpad
It might be because
-your phone has an hardware configuration ( at the kernel level not specs) different from the rest of the zuk gang
-replaced your LCD with a third party one ( like from chinese websites or from unauthorized service centres)
-Or bought a refurbished device
Mainly this fix is ONLY for those users who had none of the above issues in ZUI roms without kernel mods but faced these in custom roms. Charging issues does not come into this scene.
Coming to FIX, so far I have found,
Roms:
-Bootleggers 3.0 (Fix not complete) (credits to @amog787)
If you want to try other roms(treble and 3.18 kernel only) use
-F1xy kernel (credits to @Star_king12)

For 4.4 kernel roms as of now, not fixed but the best out there,
- Syberia OS v2.2 credits to @Danish1999
AS OF NOW for PIE, only DERPCAF (3.18 kernel) works perfect
Feel free to post, If you had tried different kernels or roms and found a fix.
I also request zuk devs to integrate this fix (residing in the above projects) to their development trees, if possible.

No mine too is goodix, the issue is not with cable cut, it is just that ours is different batch with missing 4.4 touch driver or kernel code since the zuk support ended with 3.18 kernel.
So if anyone cannot afford alternate LCD just use DerpCaf rom for PIE experience or any 3.18 rom with above said f1xy kernel. You cannot test all roms available in our forums but it will keep your device alive for the next year

Ours batch of LCDs are like limited edition and they have different kernel commits but the other's LCDs are present everywhere so the driver too is available and devs too can fix any (like the other touch issue which arose during early 4.4development) since they too have the device
But in our case only we have the device and very few people has the issue (so far I know only 4 guys). Also searching whole source code for the correction is like needle in haystack and need many Dev's help. So we have no way but to expect a miracle or stay in 3.18 kernel which only devs like dmitirii support ( thanks to him).

i have touch issues whenever i use phone while charging directly from direct plug. it doesn't happen when i charge through powerbank.

Maybe the charger have become defective
Mine is also like that after 1year of use,so I use Samsung charger when using my phone

Hi guys, I replaced the digitizer on my Magic with a digitizer from Repairs Universe. They assured me (and still do) that the G2 digitizer is compatible with my Magic, yet after installation there is no touch response, nothing works. I tried plugging the cracked digitizer back in and it still works, so the problem isn't with my phone.
Is this digitizer actually compatible? Should I ask for a refund and find a Magic specific one? Do I need to do something else to make it compatible?

G2 is the HTC Hero apparently.
They are still assuring me that the unit is working (as they test them prior to shipment) and that it is 100% compatible (even though it looks like a different part).

I just came across this thread and I had similar issue with my Rogers Magic. I broke my LCD and digitizer last year and replaced with some third party parts from ebay myself. After that, I noticed that certain ROMs the touchscreen would not work (Cyanogen's, Hero's..etc). The only ROM that touchscreen would work is the ION ROM from Amon_Ra http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538645. You may want to try his ROM to see if you experience the same problem. I suspect that the replacement digitizer had a different chipset? Please do let me know how you resolved your issue.

Aha! This is important to know. I also have a custom screen/digitizer and have the same exact problem.

i have a g1 where my operator replaced the mobo in warranty. Now, the accelerometer works only on android 1.1 (my operator is so crappy that they did not provide any updates). Maybe they were so cheap to replace it with a different but $0.10 cheaper one.
If i go to cyanogen/froyo/eclair/donut/cupcake it won't work - i have to replace system/bin/akmd from android 1.1

Trying to find out if my cases are just really bad luck or are there really issues with the touch screen on the HERO!
Bought my phone in October 2009 and now have the bring in the phone for the 5th time to HTC. My son has also an Hero and he faces the same problems.
Symptoms:
- lower region no or very bad response, almost unable to use the backspace in sms
- about 9 mm from the bottom the whole screen no response
- screen starts flipping/switching between the different menu screens
For my phone the lcd already 3 times replaced and for my son once.
When I brought in my phone last time I asked them if there where people like me who have the same problems with the touch screen and they assured me there where no screen problems!!!
I really getting tired of going to HTC service centre and have to wait one week before my phone comes back, last time even almost 2 weeks.
I do like the phone but with these kind of problems I wonder just bad luck or is there something wrong with the design?
Didn't drop the phone once, would say I am a heavy user including mobile network sharing function.
Use stock rom and have installed facebook and yahoo. Don't even dear to put the phone in my pocket because I am afraid that would cause the problems.
Who has similar experience and is willing to share. Would like to find out more before I send a big complain letter to HTC?

Many people have had this problem. Mine was sent to HTC, 3 months ago or so. Haven't had the problem since.
Maybe your repair-center uses the wrong (old) acreens.
Mine was sent to HTC Belgium. I live in the Netherlands.
same here...got my phone about 3 month ago...I had loaded alot apps when I first got the phone. and the lower part of screen was DEAD at one point. Hard reset that's all I did and works fine for the last few months

The problem does not apear when the screen is cold. After a while when the screen is at full brightness it gets warmer and the problem gets worse. HTC told me that they had to repair a lot of devices and it is a common hardware-problem. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the ROM-version you are on!

Why did you ask that question ? Do you think that custom ROM may cause that problem with our hero screen ?
I had the same issue and posted earlier in the forum..i never installed custom rom but for some reason the screen wasnt responsive enough and had a tough time sending mails n msgs..returned it to htc and got it repaired.
my hero is working perfectly and looking fwd to the 2.1 update

I had exactly the same issue in the region of the screen you stated (bottom right). It has been repaired once so far. I hope it doesn't happen every few months!

To start off, I bought mine (Black, 32GB version) a couple of weeks ago, coming from the N4. Got it from a retailer I've gone to before in Zamzama, Karachi,. for Rs 72k. Quite a lot to spend on a smartphone, but I got a good price for my N4 and I really wanted this Homeshopping.pk apparently now has the silver version for under 70k on their site.
There's obviously no warranty but after speaking to Brightex Pakistan (official HTC distributors apparently) they plan on launching the One with warranty by June 22nd, or so they said. Mind you, the price for that will be quite a bit higher than the non warranty version but I suppose the peace of mind is worth it for a lot of people.
After having used the phone for a couple of weeks, and going through several charge cycles, my one and only issue with this phone - namely the battery life - has pretty much been laid to rest. Getting about 3 hrs on screen time and 20-24 hrs total time on a single charge with sync on which is great for me as it gets me through my full work day. Haven't found any glaring glitches yet (thankfully!) and the experience of using this device is completely brilliant!
Have NOT rooted and gone flash crazy yet as I want to enjoy the phone as is for a while. Am just waiting for the OTA 4.2.2 update to hit, hopefully soon The only 'accessory' I use right now is my own earphones with this set and they sound fantastic, much better than the included pair.
I've been looking for the MHL and OTG cables but haven't found them yet. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated.
Really curious to find out how many of us in PK have gotten this phone thus far so let us know y'all!

I unlocked the bootloader ,,, installed stock odex 4.2.2 and rooted... loving this device...
i suggest you to install 4.2.2 stock... it will double the battery life.. literally!!

Thanks, was thinking abt rooting n flashing. Prolly gonna try it this weekend. Think I've been so spoilt by previous Nexus phones that trying to root an HTC device just makes me feel lazy

I'm thinking of getting the black but how is your experience with scratches and smudges? Is it really that bad? I'm coming from the black One X but I pretty much kept it in a minimal case most of the time.

Well so far I have not used a cover or case with it since I couldn't find any good quality, minimal, ones. There are no scratches yet but the back does get some fingerprints which you can wipe off. Admittedly since its new I have been careful enough with it but I do carry it in my jeans pocket. So far so good. I think if you're used to having a case on your phone this one will not disappoint you.
That said, I've noticed the camera lens picks up smudges much more than my previous phones. I use a lens cloth to wipe it down after a couple of days or when I can remember.
My other reasoning for not having a case/cover so far is that it just looks so darned nice without them

I just got one very cheap..and its working very well with 16gb flash drive... If you are in karachi.. U can find easily in mobile market..
But i am trying to connect my 500 gb WD external usb drive.. Its not connecting.. Is there any way to connect it with HTC one via OTG cable?

I think the issue would be one of power. A low power device like a thumb (usb) flash drive gets its power from our phones via the OTG cable but an external HDD requires more power than the phone can provide. Its suggested in the following thread/link that you can use a powered USB hub to power up the Drive and then the OTG will work with the phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931990&page=2

Not seen it in the shops around here but these guys apparently can get it for you - have tried them before for a couple of cases etc and they do deliver in 10-15 days

I am not in the USA but was able to receive and redeem the $25 Play Credit by using an alternate Google account then downloading app to phone and switching back to my regular account. Works great, so try it now if you haven't already!

i have a VERY bad experience with it
rebooting (automaticly)
freezing
overheating
unresponsive touchscreen
i should choose a samsung
The choice of model really depends on your carrier. The phone is still a good device if you can find one that is OEM with no replacements. I've had a bad experience with replacement screens and finding one that doesn't eventually crap out. If you can find one lightly used that hasn't had a replacement yet then you'd be well off.

On my case it was not a software problem. The touchscreen issues happened even with different Roms.
Does anyone have any idea when the V20 will get the Android oreo update?

Would be nice yes - if they made some kind of software solution for it. I'm talking with the seller in regards of my phone at the moment about the issue. They have 1 year warranty which is near closing - and I don't think this is an alright issue on a phone that is pretty expensive, at least when I got it.

It is just color calibration. There is already solution with proper kernel and color calibration with rooted devices. Someone done LGs job, they just need to apply that in Oreo, just that

And yet it takes them ages to get a fix out to the people apparently... One more reason why Mobiles should never be locked without an easy unlock feature for the people wanting it.
We need to be "LOUD" for them to hear us. This is my first LG phone and probably the last because their support.

Should be easy for them to actually just have a Guy on the forum all the time as his Job - and looking it over and keeping them up to date about what is going on.
The reason I got an LG phone was because they were the only company having a newer model with old features like the battery replacement and the Micro SD Card option! Would have been nice with 2 Micro SD cards and not 2 sim cards but anyway... A lot of improvement could absolutely be made. Yet, still the best phone on what I want - and yet so much that could have been better.
Possibly Oreo is Comming in April as I've read on many Authentic Forums.

*Sigh* Don't think so then. Would not put my hope up for it sadly. My retention is just getting worse and worse - my whole screen is effected and the second screen as well.

You can solve that with root and proper kernel. It is software problem. Because of that I hope that they will apply it with Oreo update.
Google Enterprise Phones page shows V20 with Android Oreo. Apparently LGE send this information to Google, and it's a hope for all us.

Just because it can be fixed with software with some settings is not to say it is not a hardware issue with the screen. As we know it works out of the box without any issue and over time becomes a problem.
Anyway I have a lot of retention - and not that much experience with installing a new kernel or jail-breaking the mobile first. I have the latest update for the phone and not sure if that can be jail broken, I have not looked into it yet.
The thing is - it's going to take hours and hours to get me to the point of jail breaking, looking into kernels as it seems theres not a few to chose from? asking people and reading on the topic and there always seems to come up issues as well on the path that you need to use time for trying to fix.
People do some changes to the color for getting the retention away, right? So even if it fixes the issue or lessen it at least is not to say that is the settings the company had in mind in the first place for it. So I'm not keeping my noose up for them fixing the ghosting - but will be happily surprised if they do. But in this society of throwing away and getting you a new phone all the time - well... It's like many of the other stories where they engineer things to break on purpose so they can keep on selling new ones. This world is wicked!
