Since rooting my phone, I've noticed that after unlocking the screen after every boot, the 'downloading' icon pops up on the left of the status bar and a notification box briefly appears for Google Play being downloaded. The process last just a few seconds.
I've never noticed this behaviour before., except when manually updating apps. Google Play is not set to automatically download so I'm not sure why it is happening.
Can anyone shed any light on this please?
I'm running Oreo 8.0 and rooted with Magisk. Also have Xposed installed plus a couple of modules, but not sure any could be responsible for this.
Thanks for any help

Whenever I boot it up it says "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped.". It does allow me to hit ok, however when I hit ok I have about 1 second before it pops up again. Due to the passcode lock on my phone I am unable to get past the lockscreen as it wipes the input box everytime the popup box pops up. Despite the System UI apparently failing everything does seem to be functional behind the pop up. In the 1 second periods between pop ups I am able to interact with it. The status bar and the buttons on the bottom are not visible, however the rest of the lockscreen (including widgets) is.
The phone is rooted, however I had not gotten around to installing a custom bootloader yet. Debugging is enabled, however the device is listed as "offline" according to "adb devices". Due to this I am unable to install TWRP so as to flash the zip to disable xposed.
All of the above is still true in safe mode, the exact same thing happens.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I would prefer to keep the data on it, however if nothing else a factory reset would be fine.
Update: Solution was to do this. The offending xposed module was xhalofloatingwindow. I have managed to reproduce the error multiple times, so it would appear that xhalofloatingwindow is incompatible with the LG G2 (AT&T) on 4.2.2.
It is only the latest version that is incompatible. Uninstall Beta 2.16 and install 2.14 then it will work. Came across your post as I was searching in tapatalk for the official thread to report this in. Hope it helps.

Hey guys,
Hopefully someone can provide a bit of help or point me in the right direction.
Tonight I installed (what I thought was) an update but accidentally installed the original 6.0.0 image for my 6P (MDA89D).
I noticed that not much on my phone was working, discovered my error, and went ahead and updated to the latest image (MTC19X).
Most of the phone's functions remained unable to work using this image so I also tried the last image I was on before updating.
Now after trying to uninstall xposed, reinstall xposed, disable certain modules, etc I am unable to get certain functions of the phone to work.
The things I've noticed are: my recents button doesn't function, no notifications are popping up on my notification panel, I can't expand my notification panel to show quick settings, sometimes home button doesn't function at all. If it helps "vibrate on touch" was turned on for some reason after I updated the second time.
The first update I did was using FlashFire (undid xposed, installed update, reinstalled xposed), the rest of the updates were using fastboot to update everything but data.img.
Well I ended up finding the fix finally thanks to a little more googling.
running "adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity" and going through the setup ended up fixing it
Might as well leave this up in case anyone else needs help in the future
Hi all
I have a Nokia 6 TA-1021, I got the October Update when I checked the system updates. Battery was about 35% at the time so, it didn't install. So, I connected my charger and "restart & install" option showed up. After tapping restart and install, the installing progress bar appeared through a dialog then the phone restarted showing the fading android logo then, booted to OS. Status bar and notifications are visible but the screen is completely blank & black. I waited for sometime and saw notifications like "Need to set a backup account" ;"SD Card Ejected". I restarted the system and fortunately, it booted into OS showing the lock screen and stuff but things changed, the customizations I've made like, my accounts had all been removed/reset. (Installed apps and data still remains. This affects like stored fingerprint, Facebook, Google, WhatsApp accounts & stock launcher). Most importantly it did not got updated. Still in the Sept Patch 7.1.1
Now when I check system updates again, it doesn't show the latest update. What's the problem occurring here? I had the same situation when flashing Sept Patch too
Hey, a few weeks ago I unlocked my bootloader and rooted my device, everything went just fine for a while, however, that all changed when I restarted my device.
First my Youtube Vanced App stopped adding videos I watched to my Youtube history, I thought that may be a problem for the app, so I uninstalled and used the official Youtube App, but to my surprise, it didn't work either. Outside my phone Youtube works just fine.
A few days passed and I updated my Magisk App and some modules, then I restarted the device, and yet another issue occurred, after the usual "can't trust the device" (or something like that) and after the first portion of the loading screen (right before "Android One" shows Up) I was greeted with this message: "Can't load Android System. Your data may be corrupt. (....)" along with the options to try again or do the factory reset. I selected "try again" and the system booted just fine.
And ever since, most of the time I have to reboot or boot my phone this message appears.
To make things worse, when I had to restart my phone today my camera didn't work at all (some apps crashed while others showed a black screen where the image should be) and my Youtube Vanced and official Youtube App stopped working as well (I can open both of them but it just keeps loading my feed non-stop).
What's causing this problem? And what can I do to fix it?
Thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help.
Notes:
I unlocked the bootloader using this guide and installed both Magisk and Google Camera using the Xiaomi Mi A1 Tool.
You can try to flash stock firmware using MiFlash, but the things you mentioned sounds to me like failing eMMC. I've read few other threads with very similar symptoms and cause was failing eMMC...
Hi guys. I have an issue with Mi A1 that keep soft rebooting or some sort. It goes randomly black screen and went to home screen as normal. After 15 secs later it will randomly goes into black screen again.
This particular issue happened when i started to clearing storage on Google Play Services because it consumes so much storage. And after clearing the storage it doesnt pop-ups any message but randomly goes into black screen again.
Any recommendations or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Maybe in settings > accounts remove your google account and add it back in again.
Hello. I have the same problem now! I have not touched anything, just wanted to check something and it started to restart as the author - a black screen at some time constantly. I put the phone in sаfe mod - the same. Android pie stock, not rooted.
Maybe it's the play service version. Open the app info of play service hit the 3 dots and uninstall the updates. Or install an older version from apkmirror if it's possible on stock. Prevent automatic updates in play store settings.
I'm using Google Play services beta (frequently updated) since a couple of months without any issues/problems. what so ever.
The issue isn't very common as there aren't that many reports regarding that.
Have You tried to remove Your Google account as suggested above?
As last resort, do a factory reset.
BTW: My A1 is 100% untouched stock, latest patch installed.
I did factory and it is ok now. I haven`t that time to enter apps and options - about 10 seconds only.

Here began a similar problem. Yesterday, while charging, my device started an infinite reboot loop. I can't tell if it's on Google Service. The only thing that changed in my use was the July security patch I installed this week.
I did a factory reset and it didn't work for long, even in standby the device goes into bootloop.
I do not know what the problem, I will try to downgrade.
Hey man. I just came here see if anybody else has faced this problem too. I was using the phone fine. I was using Telegram and some apps were updating in PlayStore and then suddenly this started to happen. I can't just do factory reset as I have photos that I haven't backup yet. I'm confused what should I do. How to retain my photos?
I have the exact same problem! No idea why, I did nothing unusual...
I have Xiaomi Mi A1, latest version, not rooted.
I did a factory reset and it did not resolve. I downgraded to other versions and now no rom stock works anymore, all are in bootloop. I don't know what else to do, they don't leave XIAOMI's logo.

I've tried to delete updates for Google app, and it just got worse... Now the phone can't even turn on... It shows the screen of "android one" for about 90 seconds, then screen becomes black, then it shows an error: "Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need to perform factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device".
Please help :crying:

Happened to me when I unsubscribed from Google play services beta program (which essentially clears its data). Phone booted fine but always crashed few seconds later. I rebooted into the safe mode, let it update to the latest stable versions of all necessary Google apps/services and after that it has been working fine ever since. Not sure if its your case, but certainly worth the try.
