Has system tuner been removed from Android 9? How can it be accessed?? I'm unable to find it anywhere.
Yes it's been removed since the beginning of the Android P betas. There is a way to get to it. I believe you need to use Nova Launcher and there's a widget shortcut you can add to the homescreen that still gets you to the tuner but I'm not [emoji817] sure.

Confirmed: you can use Nova to create a shortcut, but most any activity picker app should be able to point to it.
Do a Google search for "system tuner Android 9" and one of the links gives a Nova tutorial on how to do it. The one I used was from Android police.. https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/...e-spotlight-heres-bring-back-system-ui-tuner/
Alternately, I used QuickShortcutMaker. It's under the DemoMode header, but it launches the system tuner instead..

Can you explain how this can be done, I use Tasker but I'm no expert with it.
You must enroll Tasker Beta via Google Play,

Read about it here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut
You can also use this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Works with or without root. If your not rooted then you have to run an ADB command
Run the following in adb:
adb shell am start com.android.systemui/com.android.systemui.DemoMode

Hello,
I am looking for a way to mask the fact that Android is running on our embedded platform. I was hoping to get some help from someone here who would know how to run a given apk instead of the 'Launcher2.apk' on boot.
Things I do need to hide to make it as transparent as possible from boot to application launch - where no android recognizable items should be seen.
- No unlock screen
- No status bar
- No application list icons
Sounds like the ideal thing to do would be to simply not launch launcher, and launch my apk instead.
I know something like this is possable since launcher pro used to fire up the browser when it had expired. Could u create some kind of launcher to open a app (sorry not a dev so not sure weather this will work)

Just make your own launcher that doesn't show this stuff and launches what ever you want straight away.
If you are on stock ROM and want to get rid of the navigation bar then follow the instructions below.
1. Download Pie Control from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol
2. Setup Pie Control to how you want it (you can mimic the navigation bar layout)
3. Go to /system/ and open build.prop to edit
4. Add a line qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 at the very end
5. Save the file and reboot
Nova does the same but easier.

I thought Nova only did it for the home screen. Even if it does, I think only the Pro version would do it. This solution is free.
I don't even remember Nova launcher having that option.

Nova NON PRO (aka free) version gives you the option to remove the navigation bar on ALL screens.
Look under nova settings > desktop > persistent search bar (choose option).

I got the PRIME version (paid) and selecting persistent search bar to Never doesn't get rid of the navigation bars.

Hmm don't know what to tell you. I have the free Nova launcher and I don't see the google nav bar on ANY of my screens on my Nexus 7 2013.

Wait, search bar or nav bar? It's two totally different things.

You're right. It's nova settings > look and feel > show notification bar. But like you said it only does it if you're on the home screen or in the dock. Once you open anything else like an app or phone settings, the notification bar will appear. I have prime but i'm pretty sure it's still an option if you have the free version if i'm not mistaken.
Hi,
I installed "One Locker" from the Play Store ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobile.onelocker ) and I noticed when I press the home button, the app don't close. Also, I can't pull down the status bar.
How is this possible without setting the app as a launcher, like many other lockscreen apps are doing?
Question is also in the following post.

It is possible by overriding the onUserLeaveHint() method of the activity class and using the AlarmManager class. But as a security feature, the task u want to perform starts after 5 seconds. If u want to remove this delay then ull have to write ur own HomeLauncher.

I want to avoid that because if I use Nova launcher for example and set my lockscreen app as launcher (Nova will be opened by my app), then Nova will be in the recent apps and I really don't like this.

Hi,
I found a way to hide the launcher from the recent apps.
Please tell me more details on hide the recent app list and block the status bar from pull down.
Basically the title. Is there a way how to enable this feature in EMUI 4.0?
Bump. Please, if it isn't possible, just say I can't .
If someone knew how to open, they would have responded. I'm still on lollipop but I think that if the default way of enabling is not working, it's removed or hidden for your own good (doesn't work or crashes the phone)

IMO most of the tuner options are available in EMUI, in different places. We can edit shortcuts, status bar drag behaviour, data transfer and battery numbers visibility etc.

Does that mean we have no secret system ui tuner menu?
Well can you help me removing google search icon(not a bar) from homescreen. there is no google search app installed (not even under system apps). i search and found out that system ui tuner could hide it + other stuff like battery percantage into battery tweat etc.
Update: I found the battery percantage tweak at Settings > notification panel & status bar. Still having that non used google icon which i dont like.

I see. I tried Nova Premium. Every time I try to personalize my phone with 3rd party apps, finally I go back to stock. EMUI doesn't like other apps but it is very good itself, if you like this style. If you don't like it, it's better to change the phone.

I am using Apex Launcher myself without any problem.
Make sure you have choose default launcher in Default apps settings.
Settings > apps > advanced > default apps > launcher and choose the one you are using
You can check my blog about it here. (delete*)h*ttps://3dbeach.wordpress.com/2017/01/07/removing-bloatware-on-android/

Does Google plan to release a 9.0 version of System UI Turner? I know you can get it to partly work with a launcher like NOVA, but when trying to hide status bar icons you can only hide a few and some don't work at all to hide, like cell data and wifi data icons. When you turn those off nothing happens. So I was wondering if Google will release a new version. I know they had it on, 6.0 7.0 and 8.0 so I am hoping they do.
