Does Google plan to release a 9.0 version of System UI Turner? I know you can get it to partly work with a launcher like NOVA, but when trying to hide status bar icons you can only hide a few and some don't work at all to hide, like cell data and wifi data icons. When you turn those off nothing happens. So I was wondering if Google will release a new version. I know they had it on, 6.0 7.0 and 8.0 so I am hoping they do.

Hello all. Just installed omnirom on my nexus 7 flo and everything works fantastic. There is a little problem whose solution i couldnt find even after hours of searching. My right app icon in app drawer disappers everytime i reboot. It doesnt matter which app icon i put in there. Only the right icon deappears.
Details
Device: nexus 7 2013 16gb
Firmware: omnirom 4.2.2(official)
Recovery: twrp 2.6.0
Gapps: pa gapps( stock 270 mb)
Launcher: omnirom default
anyone help
Please anyone help. This bug is killing me its so annoying
Disappearing icon
My last icon on the right also disappears. I'm using an Xperia tablet Z, SGP311.
I love the ROM. Android development is completely alien to me but when I have time I'll start over on the XDA university site. Now I just have to build one of those signatures that says what my device is and all that.
Your right app icon? Can you screenshot or something?

For what it's worth, this affects all users (at least on flo) and not just the primary or last accessed one.

I'm having the same problem on the Nexus 10.
Great rom apart from this minor annoyance!
FWIW, I'm using Nova Launcher on Nexus 10 with dock set to have 6 icons and I'm not having this problem. Could be an issue with a specific launcher or setting, hard to know without more information from those having the problem.
New quick settings tile editing option is great!

+1 for the Nexus 10 with the GEL Launcher. Doesn't effect Nova Launcher regardless of # of rows/columns.

Stock launcher. Ie the launcher that came when i installed omnirom. I didnt install any other launcher, but now i am considering to switch to other launcher. I have tried many free launchers before but didnt like most of them. Care to suggest a simple launcher without any annoyances(like ads and pay to unlock certain feature)??

Nova. It's brilliant. There are some features which are only available in the paid version but nothing that affects the use of the launcher.
Oh, and the disappearing icon is not an Omni problem - its a problem with the GEL itself.

+1 on Nova. I had a low-spec device a couple years ago and tried all the popular launchers at the time. Nova seemed fastest, easiest to use, and has useful features. As far as I know the free version doesn't have ads and has plenty of good features. Nova Prime has some additional gestures that can be set to open favorite apps, which I love, because I like a clean home screen.

When I open and make an snote and then want to pin it to my home screen, or any screen, I find have the pin symbol is not present on my note, does this need enabling somewhere?
If so what do I do this?
Of not, can anyone explain why it's not present on my notes.

Are you using a third party launcher? It only works with the stock TouchWiz launcher.

More or less true.
You don't need to uninstall other launchers, just switching back to TouchWiz is sufficient to bring back that pin icon.
Cheers guys - Looks like you have to set the default launcher to TW to get the 'pin' symbol to appear in a the S Note application.
How to remove the app drawer like s7 http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/galaxy-s7-remove-app-drawer/
on Lolipop S6 ports
just pretend, if your launcher has an option to automatically put icons on the home screen choose that (or do it in playstore settings). then if it let's you, remove the app draw icon from your launcher dock or switch to a launcher that will let you. although it's fugly as all hell so I don't know why anyone would want to.

It isn't possible without a third party launcher.
This no launcher trend was introduced only recently with the release of the S7 and G5, and both run Marshmallow. So I don't think it's available for lollipop unless someone ports the feature.

You do realize that it is possible to create app shortcuts on the home screen, right? Every launcher has this.
And he may have removed the app drawer icon somehow. I'm sure exposed has some options for customizing the touchwiz launcher.

I highly doubt touchwiz lollipop has the option to disable the app drawer and make it iOS-like, because I never heard anything about it until the S7 and G5 came out. But both are running marshmallow.
If there really was such a feature on touchwiz lollipop, people would have discovered it sooner.
What you saw in the video is probably some modifications done by the youtuber (Xposed or something).

Yes. Actually I never really thought of it in any other way. You can do it through your launcher settings or usually the icon pack itself has a way to apply it (left side, should be there).

I mean, for example if I was in settings and I went into my apps instead of seeing their default icons I would see the icons from my selected icon pack. So no matter where I was seeing the icon it would be the Icon pack's icon. Hope this helps.

In settings>apps specifically? No I dont think itll switch the icons there but it will change them all on your homescreen and in app drawer.
I use Action Launcher 3 and I can apply all from the launcher settings. Or like I said, open the icon pack itself and tap apply.

You need a custom launcher that supports icon packs. Android launcher doesn't provide native support for icon packs. Icons are applied system wide if you are using a custom launcher and make it your default homescreen instead of Android's launcher. However, most icon packs will be missing icons for at least some of your apps. Some icon packs attempt to theme those icons and others just leave the stock icon.

Your launcher is system wide. You need to make the custom launcher your default home instead of Android's launcher. The launcher changes your home screens and your app drawer.

There was a xposed module that allow you to do that, change icons system wide. I didn't tried it lately, but used to work fine.
It's called Unicon, by Faruq Rasid, search for it in the PlayStore.
Edit: You're on N, so no xposed for you, Sorry.

Not OP, and I have a different phone (n10+), but I have the same issue.
Task Changer is the Good lock app that lets you customize the recent apps screen.
Good lock still shows is as installed, but trying to open it just shows a messaging saying "Congrats on updating! Task Changer isn't compatible, please wait for an update."

It's nice that some form of Task Changer is working on One UI 3, but the one in Home Up only works when using One UI Home, so it's no good for people using alternative launchers.

Actually it is working with 3rd party launchers (tested with Nova, new Lawnchair alpha and Ruthless). You have to use stock launcher first, then set radio changer up for the first time. Then switch launcher and don't deactivate/uninstall the stock one in the background. Now you can use it with custom launcher and also make changes without switching again. But the features of the app are still pretty limited. I am disappointed with 3.1 so far. Samsung has screwed up for me. Performance/animations are horrible. I went back to 2.5 a few times now and am really annoyed with that. When using a 3rd party launcher I also have the issue that when opening recent apps there is a latency and the background same as the recent apps are popping in after a second. Can anyone confirm this? Plain ugly... There is definitely an ongoing issue with 3rd party launcher integration.

Ah, I hadn't tried swapping back to the stock launcher temporarily.
I'll have to try that out then, anything is better than the default recents screen.
I do agree though, it's lacking in options compared to Task Changer.
While I'm not going to rollback to 2.5 over it, I really hope it gets 3.0 support soon.

wait, how did you manage to go back to 2.5, didn't you change the bootloader when you upgraded to 11?

This is now a long time ago. But if I remember correctly there have been a few oneui3.x versions that didn't change the bootloader so it was easy to get back to 2.5. Unfortunately there has been a later update which changed the bootloader on a 3.x version and a downgrade wasn't possible anymore. So if you're on the latest software update I guess it's not possible. At least not the easy. I don't know a way that would allow it.
