Maybe you accidentally wiped internal storage while wiping cache partition(didn't unchecked internal storage)?

Can someone help me, my phone keeps rebooting, I'm on Villain ROM12 with Apps2SD, my phone caught some bugs, and it wouldn't vibrate with messages yada, yada, so I thought I'll just wipe phone + data, Dalvik Cache on AmonRA recovery mode, but after I did, when I rebooted my phone, the reboot screen keeps repeating itself, but when I take the memory card out and reboot, it starts up straight away, what should I do?
Please help.
Thanks

Please back up everything on sd to computer, and then use amonra recovery to reformat it completely.
Then do a full wipe and flash, and copy the essential files from your sd backup back on. Now reboot, check it's still ok, and then add your apps etc via something like titanium backup (the data for which was on sd, but was copied across with essential stuff)
Then reboot, and finally copy rest of your data across. If this works, you're sorted. If at any step it won't boot, just restart the process and don't restore that data.
Sd cards sometimes need a clear out.

the dbdata file is corrupted.
1) download this file
http://forum.xda-dev...98&d=1290261479
2) extract it
3) use Odin to flash it under the PDA option
-make sure repartition is UNCHECKED
-do not select any pit file
-leave everything else the same
hi, i got a question, maybe its stupid but i've tried searching and cant find it anywhere.
so my hermes 2.0.1 tab p1000 is under my Google account. and since i've bought the P7500, i'm trying to give the p1000 to my wife. made some google account for her.
the problem:
- i've reset to factory default, no luck (through settings)
- i've reset to factory default, usb format no lick (through settings)
- i've wiped through recovery CWM. still no luck
basically after all above, my programs are still there, my account is also there, and now my tab wont show the flight mode, and data mode when pressed power.. only show the overcome added menu (reboot, recovery, etc)
so any lights on this? should i reflash? i'm confused because all my stuffs is still there in the tab... and i want to clean it up.. hopefully without resorting to reflash.
How are you going into recovery? When the tab is off, hold in power, hold volume up, when you see samsung let go of power. The factory reset will take out everything.
When you reboot, the set up screens should be confirmation of a complete wipe.
Or you could flash the wipe version of overcome rom.
sorry my bad..
i just pressed the recovery option in tab menu.
then it shows different kind of recovery menu... (blue color)
when i do power+up it shows an orange color cwm.. and this one works.. sorry for thetrouble
It's no trouble, it's a good discovery.
Hey all,
I have an ext3 partition for my apps, and I noticed that it was using 400+ mb when I only have for about 200 mb MAX of apps. So I wondered if it was my dalvik cache (which i also store on that same partition) since it had been using 80 MB before.
So I cleared dalvik cache and cache (not data), and now my phone won't boot anymore.
I can still go to recovery. I tried backing up (ofcourse AFTER I had the problem) and then restoring, hoping somehow that would work, but nothing. I have waited an hour on the HTC logo, so I doubt that the dalvik re-initializing would take that long?
Anybody knows what I should do? Should I try to reflash my ROM (without clearing data first) to try if that works. Or if that does not work, is the last resort really using a previous nandroid backup?
Cheers!
nobody? :s

Hi, strange one this!!! Dalvik cache normally regenerates itself on boot after a wipe,But you say you backed up after the problem!!! Why would you back up knowing you had the problem? So I guess that's why you can't boot up your rom. So yes I would definitely try a rom install like you said and failing that then its either a fresh install wiping everything except sdcard of course or an old nandroid. Goodluck.
" once its gone,its GONE."
I made the backup after the problem to see if restoring it somehow would fix the bug that I had (which as I suspected was not the case). But it was not the origin of the error.
Anyway I reflashed my ROM and it seems that everything is okay again, still have all my data etc.
Still my ext3 is using way to much space but that's another thing to look at
Hey guys, got myself into a bit of a problem here. First, an app I'd installed disappeared....I went to the market to redownload it, and it kept saying "Package file has a bad manifest". So I went to the Application settings and uninstalled it.....same problem. So, I figured I'd wipe the system cache to see if that helped. So I booted into recovery (stock recovery, stock rom) and wiped the cache. Rebooted.....and the Market started telling me that I didn't have enough internal storage and all my downloads would fail. I read some things saying to wipe the market cache and data, etc, so I did all that and uninstalled the market updates, leaving me with the old market instead of Google Play. Now, it still wouldn't download anything. I managed to find an apk of a log viewer, since I couldn't download one from the market, and it was saying download aborted - internal storage is full whenever I tried to download an app. I have plenty of storage. From what I could find, the market downloads apps to /cache. I tried to copy some files to /cache, just to see what would happen, and they copied fine. They disappeared a few minutes later. I've tried wiping the cache a few more times. It says it wiped it, and then says it can't mount cache:recovery/log. I found one guy who fixed this by repartitioning his cache. Can I do this? I'd try a hard reset but I'm a little hesitant because if it didn't work, I'd be stuck unable to download any apps. At least now my phone is usable. Amy help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Well, what a surprise. I installed 2ndInit for the Defy, booted into its recovery, wiped the cache, and it's good as new all of a sudden. How strange.
Feel free to lock/delete this. Or leave it in case anyone else happens to have this odd issue..
As title suggests my phone reboots when uninstalling any app via google play store or settings/apps.. it soft reboots from the rom load up logo
i've tried
reinstalling the rom/gapps
wiped system/cache/dalvik
deleted google play app data
deleting accounts
using stock kernel
used diferent launchers
virus scans
removed all apps recently installed (uninstall does work, it reboots imediately on completion)
i really want to avoid wiping the data partition which is all i can think is wrong.
anybody come across this ? any ideas

Ur phone may RIP!!
I haven't come across such problem....Just wipe the cache, dalvik cache & flash the stock rom with the stock kernel.
Did you try uninstalling using titanium backup?
Does that cause reboot as well?
I gave up and formatted the data partition, I guess it got corrupted somehow or maybe a virus was responsible.
Working ok now...shrugs
