It's the icon for "disconnected". A number of users on Reddit are reporting seeing it (including myself). I believe it is a bug in the last wear os update. Does not seem to have any impact other than being annoying. Watch is still connected for me.

I too am seeing the disconnected icon all the time on my watch face even though I'm connected.. very annoying. Anyone else also seeing this on latest software version?

This was driving me crazy. I ended up changing the set time/date setting to manual from automatic sync, and it went away. Haven't seen it again. Curious to hear if others have the same experience. Update: never mind, it's come back. I hate it.

It's the wear os update on the watch, just navigate to the wear os app with play store on watch and uninstall there. Worked for me.

This worked for me, thanks. But are there any features/important things I miss out on without having the wear os app installed?
[Edit] Sorry to revive an old thread

Means no communications from watch to phone.
I had an app that was 'sleeping inactive apps', turns out it was killing bluetooth in the background. Also make sure that your system knows not to 'sleep' that app when it is in the background (setting usually in Battery settings).
I've also fixed that problem by re-setting up the Bluetooth connection from watch to phone. Remember, Bluetooth specs say about 30 feet, but that is without any obstructions between devices like walls.

Looks good. Thanks for the pictures. Has anyone in the US tried 3.1 with a Verizon aircard? I would like to know if it works OK. Thanks.
Hey is the cell standby still present? It was rumored that this issue will be fixed with update
I have a Verizon Pantech UMW190, connected with a ZyXEL MWR211 and it reports "No update available". Much as it has reported for over a month. I am unwilling to try the hacks to get an update loaded, so I wait... and wait...

I have the same modem, but I want to know if 3.1 supports it directly plugged into the USB port. It would be nice to have native 3G support and then I can downgrade my phone to being a phone. Right now I use it as a wireless hotspot to access the Internet when away from the house. Take care.

That would be nice, though I can't imagine how fast the battery on the A500 would drain down powering the USB modem at the same time...
That said, this router is really good. Wireless N support, battery operation for 2 hours if needed. Also can be used to make a hotspot with any other USB stick or even share out a DSL or other wired LAN. Well worth the $50 I paid for it.
Thanks for the pics.
Does 3.1 have Handwriting Input for Traditional Chinese? Can you look under the XT9 input settings?
Interesting how the kernel version is still the same.

DM98 Smartwatch HELP!

I cannot find any documentation on how to use this watch.
The clock is in a 24 hour format. I would like it to be a 12 hour format. I cannot find where to do this.
The weather thinks I am in Alaska. The GPS works just fine. But I an in Colorado not Alaska. How to I change this?
And, I cannot get it to connect via bluetooth to my HTC Bolt (Blot, not Thunderbolt).
Well, I got most of the Bluetooth stuff figured out. I still cannot figure out how to get the time to a 12hr format or how to change the weather location. Every now and then I see a pop up that ask if I want to change the weather. I tap on yes, but nothing happens
Same problem with my DM98 weather app dont update positioning failed ! Otherwise wonderful smartwatche.

The weather updates just fine on mine. I don't really care what the weather in Alaska is though.
The GPS works good. But I am in Colorado and I am closer to the satellites. It works good for bike rides and such. But it is not as good at keeping it's location as my cell phone is. Considering it has to have a very small antenna, I think it does a pretty good job.

hello I had a problem with my smartwatch dm98 Appear I landed on the start page with an android with an exclamation point could you help me find a solution I specify that is not recognized by the pc thank you advanced

Wifi stays on but constantly disconnects from network.

Just as the title states, I'm having major issues with wifi. It's the phone, it's not the network or router because it works well with all of my other devices. I've tried resetting the router anyway, I've removed the network information in the phone and reentered it. The only thing I think that might have affected it without me knowing at the time was when I left the phone in my car and it overheated. I actually did that twice. If that is what caused the issue then I think I'm out of luck and it's likely not repairable. My first thought was the wifi antenna or something but because it does still connect I don't think that's it. Anyone else have this happen?
How you check your WiFi preferences?
By default WiFi disconnects after certain time...
Make sure is set to "NEVER"
Does it say "Connected, no Internet" and then disconnects and tries to connect again?
Is it switching to 4G because better signal? Turn off aggressive wifi handover in developer options if set. Check other settings too.
Turn off mobile data and see if behaviour is different as a quick test.

I can not find this setting, what menu is it under? I checked in Wi-Fi settings and Wi-Fi>Advanced. I've had the phone for some time now, this happened all of a sudden.

In the notification bar it would still show Wi-Fi signal status (on, with full bars) but it would go from displaying "network name" to simply displaying "Wi-Fi". If I long press it takes me to Wi-Fi setting and I can reconnect manually. If I turn wifi off and back on then it DOES NOT auto connect back to the network, despite the fact that the network is saved.

It happens when I have full Wi-Fi signal. Auto switching is apparently turned off, as mentioned above. When I turn off mobile data, it still disconnects from the network, leaving me with no data connection at all. Developer options were off, but I turned it on and checked but that option is off.

What Android are you using?
You could update to 7 / 8.0.0 US Beta or use a custom like me. Im currently on Android 9 Treble Pixel Experience and its working nice.

I'm running 7.1.1, B35. It would be nice if it was just a software issue, although I hate having to back everything up and wipe it. I haven't been keeping up with development, how reliable are A2017U flashes now? I think I remember them being risky with this phone when I first got it. Is any functionality lost? I would prefer to wait for the OTA 8.0 update since it seems to be coming but maybe...
I'm having this problem but mine says that the wifi manager has disabled wifi permanently. I can start it manually and it will connect to the internet for a few minutes then revert back to disabled. This happened after the 7.1.1 update.

ZTE Germany just released a message on their Facebook saying they're in their last stages of testing the Android 8.0 Oreo beta and will release it officially soon. This can be as long as one to three months away, or even longer.
If you're running stock, then flashing a custom rom will provide you with more functionality and performance. Battery life will definitely be shorter though, so say if you're getting 6-7 hours of Screen-on-Time on stock 7.1, you'll get around 4-5 on a custom rom. This entirely depends on your usage however. Flashing custom roms is quite easy and risk-free if you know what you're doing, and follow a good guide. Check Oki's guide on how to flash an 8.1 treble rom if you'd like. The current LineageOS 15 and 16 builds drain quite a lot of battery compared to other roms. If you'd like a good and stable Android 8.1 Rom, I'd recommend NFound's AEX 5.8. If you're like some of us (me included), you can live life on the cutting-edge and flash a Android 9 Pie rom. I wouldn't recommend it though as unless you know what you're doing with a GSI, DON'T flash one.
Always backup before attempting anything.

Same for me, I'm having the exact same issue.
Did any one of you find the solution for it? :/

Joying JY-UO128N4G Indicates 4G connectivity, but no network connection..

Greetings from a newbie!
I'm in the process of installing a Joying JY-UO128N4G (Intel Octa-Core 1,8 4gb ram 32gb ROM) in my 07 Volvo V70.
So far it has gone well ( apart from the volume being stuck at max, regadless of the volume being set to 0, 1, 2 etc - did not matter - it was still maxed out. This morning it was miraculously OK..), but I have a problem with 4G connectivity. The unit comes with a built in 4G card, and I've installed a SIM in it, and everythign seems in order. When the HU boots, it connects to the mobile network, and it indicates 4G. It even displays up/download "arrows", to indicate traffic. Brilliant.
However - here is the issue: Apps don't get internet connectivity!
Being new to Android, but fairly familiar with many other mobile devices, I think one or more of these remarks might be the cause:
- Wrong / no APN settings. Have seen other equipment indicate 4G, but no connectivity, due to lack of correct APN-settings. Can't find where to input/change them in the Joying ROM? Maybe it must be rooted?
- Some sort of software blocking of apps while on the move? No app I've tried works during driving/car being parked. Maybe the unit needs to be fired up via some other way than with the ignition key..?
- A bug.
Strangely, Spotify worked breafly, but I figured that might be down to some caching, and not the 4G miraculously started working..
I will try to contact Joying about this, but don't recon Google Translate will do me any favours..
Any help is appreciated!
This thing is absolutely amazing - it mends itself!
I did a complete software re-install of the latest firmware. Now it suddenly works again. Good!
Got the latest firmware from here the Joyingauto.eu site.

what country are you in and what sim card did you do with? how do you get a cell company to activate it?
Hi!
Im in Norway.
The problem was that the unit used an ancient APN-setting (probably due to the age of the sim card), which no longer work. I don't know why it worked the first boot, but after a reboot, there was no more LTE.
Problem was/is that some genius at Joying has decided that a black background color is brilliant in the settings app. Too bad Google has black/grey as the font color, which clashes with the black backround, making changing the APN settings pretty hard! I had to result to do make the changes at night, when there was no sunlight interference. It worked.
I didn't have to do anything to make it work with the service provider. As far as they are concerned, this is yet another Android based tablet..
One annoyance I have left to solve on my unit, is that the File Manager app keeps popping up on its own accord, randomly. I've been in contact with Joying, but their only solution is to update the software - which I've done, to no avail.

Thanks - I've done that one time already. It didn't solve the issue, but hopefully they have it under control now, and have a new version available for download.
I have a similar JOYING 10.1 4GB/32GB with a 3G/4G adapter for internet.
Could someone please recommend a service here in the US that would help me to get this unit online.
Thanks

Google Maps on Round Face?

I have one of these: KINGWEAR-KC05-4G-8MP-Camera-IP67-Waterproof-WIFI-GPS-Smart-Watch-Phones. It reports Android version 7.1.1 in the Settings-About watch, and I've equipped it with a ProjectFi data-only SIM in its SIM slot, which seems to be working (can browse web pages when away from WiFi, etc.)
Google Maps is installed, and GPS location is working, but... I'd like to be able to share that GPS location from this device, but when I go through the sharing process, some of the confirmation NEXT buttons are in the corner of a rectangular screen, and on the round watch face I can't tap on them, so I can't get location sharing activated on the device.
Has anyone else tried to make Google Maps location sharing work on this type of device? I know it doesn't make sense on a watch that's tethered to a phone, but this one has its own SIM, so I'd really like to be able to leave the phone at home, but still get location sharing from the watch. Any kind of workaround ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.
That's an issue w/ your watch I think, because I use Fossil Q Explorist HR, and I've never had this type of problem
