Hi guy's, my s3 neo i9300i always reboots randomly 4 to 5 times a day and I googled for a solution but I didn't find anything, I am currently on DotOS 7.1.2 I tried different custom ROMs but the problem still there
I tried Carbon, Dirty Unicorn and had these reboots to, especially when phone is in my pocket. With CrDroid i dont have these reboots, but for me the most stable Rom is LOS14.1, but i have gt-i9301
same problem after flashing wrong firmware

Meanwhile there are quite stable Custom Roms that would be there:
- CM 12.1 from Dec.2017 (no more bootloops!)
- LOS 14.1 from August or also December 2018
- crDroid from November 2018

on those rom, not crdroid, you need to set the kernel with kernel auditor, as per instructions in threads, to avoid reboots.

I did that every time, tried it so often, but it does not work! I have always reboots except with new crdroid build and Los14.1 (only sometimes when doing phone calls)

So, right now I'm on Motion ROM and the reason I am asking here is because the random reboots can be really annoying. Now then if I want to try Project Lucky I have to flash stock firmware and then flash the ROM or is there the other way around?
No not really just a standard wipe before Flashing. If you didn't do something wrong in between that will be enough. CM is based on AOSP & so is everything else but CM is not AOSP. Only official CM12.1 is stable right now and if you despair on touch wizard alike appearance you can theme it. I know it's not a same but what a hell you can't have it all.

Well, one of the reasons I don't like CM is that every CM ROM has that same thing when I'm at 0 brightness that when I press the power button the screen blinks like its at max for a split second and at night it can be really annoying and it's not adaptive brightness or something else causing it. It only happens on CM.
Yup display settings lags & whole section is buggy but I can live with that.
Tip try to disable kernel panic on everything else & good luck with it.

If I ever decide to give the official CM a try how do I disable the kernel panic thing?
EDIT: Also would like to ask, does the blinking thing happen to you too?
First of all its not a thing but kernel safety mechanizem to ensure system doesn't get stuck by some process not reacting & blocking it so it conveniently calls an interrupt & reboots the system.
Secondly learn to read. I said on everything else & that means all the roms & with all the kernels you are getting robots with. Not with official CM12.1 (& kernel) as their is zero of those there.
Good luck with it goes as the system can freeze totally with kernel panic on opps disabled so you will sometimes have to perform it's duty manually (by pulling out the battery) when it happens. Anyhow disabling the kernel panic mechanizem is not a solution of the problem but more alike workaround.

You do get that I am not a pro when it comes to developing Android systems which means that I am just an ordinary person who knows some basic stuff like flashing a ROM and something more. Also you didn't tell me if the blinking is normal for CM and if it is happenning to you too.
Blinking is not normal, it's CM problem on the ROM side so it's there on all CM's (12.1).

I agree. I tried CM 12.1 and that display flashing whenever I press the power button or home button to turn the display on was annoying. Flashed CM 11 after that and it's going pretty well, and that flashing thing is not happening.
Hello everyone.
I want a little help from you guys in selecting a best ROM from amongst many.
I've tried almost all ROMs available, but not able to decide which ROM to use as my daily driver.
I flash my device daily just to get a stable ROM, which satisfy all my need.
My requirements in a ROM are as follows-:
Double Tap To Wake
Battery efficient
Stable in terms of Force Closes
4G and VoLTE working
Customizations
Please guys help me in selecting a good ROM.

AOSP EX. has some issues with double tap, it's not responsive. I've used it for around 2 weeks.
AND RR rom (VoLTE Version), I've tried it. It has a big issue with calling.
In the I-M-MORTAL Version, Whenever we call someone over VoLTE, then the calling screen gets stucked while hanging up, and nothing could be done by hard reboot also.
In its Feb built also, it has an issue with dialer app. That whenever we call someone, dialer app crashes, and nothing could be done to stop this FC.
This issue was reported by many users.
Then only cm14 last nightly i can suggest you ! That's my love !

HW codec video lacks smoothens, (use SW in MX player)
CPU at 1.2 GHz(Use custom kernel to OC)
Pros-
Excellent battery life (use greenify, and slow down your CPU to 400 Mhz if you need more)
Customisation 10/10
Volte support
Smooth fluid interface, no lags

It is pretty stable and as compared to others I think it is one of the most stable rom. Unless you don't flash a custom kernel or something.
Confused between AOSP EX. and GZR (Validus & Tesla) now.
Tried both.
But I've read many reviews about GZR Roms, many users says it gives random reboot, but here in this thread, mostly all saying that GZR is best (no reboot or any issue).
Actually, I want to use it for daily use. So want to stay away from random reboot issues.
And, about AOSP EX. I've not got such reviews (like random reboot).
I reason I want to move on from AOSP ex. is customizations and it's double tap unresponsiveness.

Icons are not rom dependent - you can change just using diff browser or something.
That being said - anything + alize should be good to go!

Unofficial Lineage os 15.x is rolling out but there is no custom kernel so that I can test it on F320 model.
Can anyone do something about the kernel stuff ??
Same here.. Hopefully there will be a F320 kernel for Oreo.
off topic question
everytime i flash custom roms, let's say nougat, the boot logo is always looping everytime i charge it when it's powered off. isn't there a charging animation? is it normal for our f320? i am on stock lollipop. this is what i've been doing: root+twrp (srktool)>flash blastagator twrp>wipe cache, data, system, dalvik>flash nougat rom>flash gapps>flash lambda kernel. i've tried everything. i've tried flashing with/without the hybrid bootstacks and it's still the same. what am i doing wrong?

Which nougat rom you're trying to flash ???
You can flash the official LineageOS for D802 or any rom for D802 with CrazySuperKernel V7...
Butt you have to edit the update-script in Rom zip...
Open update-script under META-INF>com>google>android & replace all d802 entries in first line to f320
Save and then flash this zip with CrazySuperKernel V7
(Google it)
Just flash the Hybrid bootstacks only once or if you're on stock lollipop, you don't even need to flash these bootstacks...
*The problem for bootloop is the Lambda kernel which doesn't boot on latest beta.*
Use CrazySuperKernel instead.

LOS 14.1, and almost every other Nougat rom are stable.
The only major bugs are offline charging and time reset after reboot. But these issues disappear once you flash ToXite kernel. Personally I'm on Thargorsson's LOS build since may and everything works perfectly daily.

Lineage 14.1 is the most stable ROM, I did not need to install any kernels to work. (the only thing that does not work is the NFC, but I do not even use it)
I had tested 2 other ROMs and had some problems (like, the alarm did not work if I left the device totally idle for more than 6 hours - one night), even installing the ToXikernel.

Yes, in the original Lineage 14.1, with "Android security patch level" of "22 August 2018", with the native kernel (without customizing the kernel), the alarm worked without problems.
From what I understand, the problem is related to kernel settings, leaving the device goes into deep sleep mode and this disables various functions, including the alarm, but the native kernel the latest version of Lineage 14.1 does not have these presets (which, for me, leaves battery consumption "normal" rather than "optimized," but at least the alarm works, and the FM radio also).

Let me explain better: I recently moved from Stock ROM to Lineage 14.1, and the battery consumption is equal, so "normal". The other ROMS with Android 7.1 promise lower, "optimized" battery consumption. The system goes into deep sleep mode, but is not "as deep" as the other ROMS.
