There's a ROM with no bugs at all? - Galaxy S3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys, there's less and less apps avaliable for S3 Neo everyday. I allways try some custom roms to use a recent Android but all of them have some bugs that prevent me from using the phone. I don't need NFC, seccond chip slot connection but we all need excencial things like a working camera. So if you guys could help me with some stable ROMs , it would be great. Thanks

I have the exact same problem as you. did you find any good rom?

I also want a custom ROM with stability and the latest Android.
Please reply if you find any.

LOS 14.1, and almost every other Nougat rom are stable.
The only major bugs are offline charging and time reset after reboot. But these issues disappear once you flash ToXite kernel. Personally I'm on Thargorsson's LOS build since may and everything works perfectly daily.

Don't know about DotOS but it seems good.
I'm on LOS 14.1. Just see at the other N roms topics, you'll find many users saying that everything's working great for them.

Another thing to add to your list about toxite kernel, it also breaks your fm chip (=no radio fm).

Then Guys..
Please suggest which ROM should I install to get good experience with minimum bugs(not the battery drain problem please)

I dont think there is one m8 !

Lineage 14.1 is the most stable ROM, I did not need to install any kernels to work. (the only thing that does not work is the NFC, but I do not even use it)
I had tested 2 other ROMs and had some problems (like, the alarm did not work if I left the device totally idle for more than 6 hours - one night), even installing the ToXikernel.

Yes, in the original Lineage 14.1, with "Android security patch level" of "22 August 2018", with the native kernel (without customizing the kernel), the alarm worked without problems.
From what I understand, the problem is related to kernel settings, leaving the device goes into deep sleep mode and this disables various functions, including the alarm, but the native kernel the latest version of Lineage 14.1 does not have these presets (which, for me, leaves battery consumption "normal" rather than "optimized," but at least the alarm works, and the FM radio also).

Alright. When you say "normal battery consumption", you mean that your phone doesn't reach deep sleep mode?

Let me explain better: I recently moved from Stock ROM to Lineage 14.1, and the battery consumption is equal, so "normal". The other ROMS with Android 7.1 promise lower, "optimized" battery consumption. The system goes into deep sleep mode, but is not "as deep" as the other ROMS.

Oh OK, I misunderstood. Thanks o/
Another question (since no one else involved in the roms' development is responding), did you manage to fix the time reseting issue after reboot? Using the fix for the custom kernel of toxite?

What's the most stable custom rom today? [November]

Sorry if this is not the place, and sorry for my eng too, but I have this doubt, I've seen differents cyanogens from China and the resurrection remix, I always had cyanogen on my Moto's I dont known the RR and I dont even know what is more stable today (I have a very bad internet and my 3s come this week, cant test any rom yet, but I want to download something stable to test when 3s arrived)
On another words... What rom are U using? And why?
PD: Sign please, https://www.change.org/p/publish-the-kernel-source-for-the-xiaomi-redmi-3s-prime-3x
With this we will have true roms based on the real code of the dispositive.
Thanks!
(Sorry my eng, again!)
I currently use Resurrection Remix 5.7.4 as of now.Its stable enough to be used as daily driver, only flaw is the vedio recording but it works fine when used via footej camera.Rest everything is great.RR is actually based on Cynogenmod only ,plus some more customisations and features like split screen multitasking etc.I also used CM13 for about a fortnight, its also pretty stable.YOu can use either of it!

Any noticeable lags, battery drain?
nope..i didnt notice any in the latest builds...the previous build of cm13 did drain battery a lil bit.and previous 5.7 RR lagged a little..but again the latest one is really good.it even has october security patch
I am currently on RR 5.7.0 as my daily driver for past week or two...it's quite stable...didn't bumped into any bug...waiting for kernel release so more custom ROMs can be made.
Please make sure you signed the petition on change.org, which request the xiaomi to release the kernel sources of R3S (If you want to see more custom ROMs).
Thank u very much for ur answers! I'll try the RR 5.7.4, when my 3s arrive, and yes, I've signed the petition when we were 240 aprox!! I'll put the link on top
PD: If someone want to share his experience with one of these roms or anothers are most welcome!

Yes they do...both CM and RR have a feature called "protected apps"...it locks any app ,and you can unlock them with fingerprint. Also if you use xposed, you can try "maxlock" which is a great module and provides applock functionality with fingerprint support(i myself have tried this module).

At the moment I can only recommend this https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/6-11-3.35941/ which is actually a customized, well debloated and fine tuned MIUI builds. Until devs can get their hands-on quality sources officially from upstream (from Xiaomi and that's not happening yet), there is no other substitute.

Miui has bugs and problems. Currently, I'd recommend custom ROMs to only those who have problems using Miui (like me). And ported ROMs are not that bad - only VoLTE support issue, video recording problem and a little less battery backup. Everything else is fine and smoother.

For me significant reasons to replace a rom would be stability, battery life and I don't like miui look. But if I don't gain anything in battery life I just freeze most xiaomi crap including mi account and battery life management, install my normal greenify-titanium and other apps and stay at miui either developer or stable from miui-hellas. Only thing I really miss is the ability to run custom app from keys. If cyanogen could improve their battery life I think I would easily switch...

Stable Nougat Roms?

Hello everyone.
I want a little help from you guys in selecting a best ROM from amongst many.
I've tried almost all ROMs available, but not able to decide which ROM to use as my daily driver.
I flash my device daily just to get a stable ROM, which satisfy all my need.
My requirements in a ROM are as follows-:
Double Tap To Wake
Battery efficient
Stable in terms of Force Closes
4G and VoLTE working
Customizations
Please guys help me in selecting a good ROM.
Try Validus

AOSP EX. has some issues with double tap, it's not responsive. I've used it for around 2 weeks.
AND RR rom (VoLTE Version), I've tried it. It has a big issue with calling.
In the I-M-MORTAL Version, Whenever we call someone over VoLTE, then the calling screen gets stucked while hanging up, and nothing could be done by hard reboot also.
In its Feb built also, it has an issue with dialer app. That whenever we call someone, dialer app crashes, and nothing could be done to stop this FC.
This issue was reported by many users.
Then only cm14 last nightly i can suggest you ! That's my love !

You have only one choice.
Resurrection Remix (14 feb, 2017 build )
Latest build is 28 feb, but it lacks volte
Bugs-
DTW not supported (try any custom kernel)
HW codec video lacks smoothens, (use SW in MX player)
CPU at 1.2 GHz(Use custom kernel to OC)
Pros-
Excellent battery life (use greenify, and slow down your CPU to 400 Mhz if you need more)
Customisation 10/10
Volte support
Smooth fluid interface, no lags

It is pretty stable and as compared to others I think it is one of the most stable rom. Unless you don't flash a custom kernel or something.
Confused between AOSP EX. and GZR (Validus & Tesla) now.
Tried both.
But I've read many reviews about GZR Roms, many users says it gives random reboot, but here in this thread, mostly all saying that GZR is best (no reboot or any issue).
Actually, I want to use it for daily use. So want to stay away from random reboot issues.
And, about AOSP EX. I've not got such reviews (like random reboot).
I reason I want to move on from AOSP ex. is customizations and it's double tap unresponsiveness.

On Mokee nougat nightly rom since march with stock kernel .Quite Stable..Battery life is decent.no bloatwares ,except two file manager.
I'm using it with hexagen kernel, no gpu overclock.
No major bugs as far i tested thing workd perfectly.
Power saving gps mode works perfectly with all apps, other 7.1 roms some apps cannot get location (ingress, waze and others that i can't remember now)
Screen dizzy when you try to use it in AC, maybe it's because my charger is not genuine, but in totally stable roms or miui, the screen doesn't have that problem.
Battery life about 3 hours playing The Battle Cats lul i love cats.
And about 3:30 chatting and almost 4 hours watching videos.
Some people manage to get easily 5 hours of SOT in their devices, but mine doesn't. Maybe a hardware fault or battery. Try it out yourself, its a nice rom. 6.0 also its the most stable

Wait I am going to create a guide to get awesome battery life with Lineage 13 you can expect 6 Hrs of SOT with really heavy usage(1:40 mins of COC,3 Hrs of tv show watching and 1 hr calling)
Also VOLTE problem can be solved with lakku's work around also this ROM has very stable camera and flash.

Which rom would you recommend me that is fast and with good battery life? I tried legend rom and other lineage based, but I find the stock EUI performing faster in opening contacts, dialer etc...

up to you
they all are good
Im getting 6+ hours SOT with stock based Small EUI V3 that Ive debloated even further as much as I could.
Ive tried Lineage and Pure Nexus, and the roms didnt run as smoothly as stock does and still ran into some issues that prevented them being usable for daily drivers.

Kernel Devs have to work and both of the custom kernel has been stopped so I moved out to eui 26s which shows 0% drop down in battery during deep sleep mode. I still didn't found what causing kernel wakelock in custom roms. So, eui is good during night no battery drop. *Profit*

Best custom rom for note 4

Hello to all
This is my first thread. can anyone tell me which is the best custom rom for note 4 snapdragon (910g) which have good battery life 4 to 5 hour continuous e.g. social media apps with only wifi on.
I currently have installed latest havoc OS for my note 4 but the battery just dies at 25 and sometime at 30% i bought a new battery same thing happens. Is there any fix for that i have tried to recalibrate it but nothing helped
@maliksb having crDroid 6.12 on mine.
Battery is old but goes down to 2%.
Does you have installed any custom kernel or not
and what timing you got on your note 4

Kernel from the ROM itself.
Around 4-5h (may be more) continues usage (surfing, playing).
I used it for 2d continously for testing in January afaik.
As it is only a backup device it's in the drawer again.
@maliksb just because of curiosity I flashed LOS18.1 yesterday.
Still testing but seems to be working well.

is there any bugs and battery timing is good or not?
@maliksb can't guarantee that there're no bugs but didn't notice any.
Used it only for a day or two and battery seemed to be normal.
Then I got hold of crdroid7.3 (via Telegram group) and switched to that because of more settings options.
Stayed on that but my 910F is only a backup device anyhow so it's in the drawer again.

I'm using kernel Adiutor from f-droid with the kernel that comes with the ROM.
@maliksb
At the end... as you install this crdroid ? it's works ? Are you pick it from telegram how it's here suggested ?
It's ok from daily usage ?
Currently i have the stock 6.0.1....... right now i have, i think correctly, installed the TWRP and now it's only need to find a good roms for daily usage.
Please send me some feedback if you can.........
