Hi all,
Sorry if this isn't the right forum to post. My essential phone seems to stop working whenever I try to scroll through the Play Store > Under Games. It's the only category that seems to do this and I'm not entirely sure as to why?
My phone is using stock android 8.1.0. I'd appreciate any help on this, I've only experienced that typically once or twice on Custom ROM's but never on a stock android without any modifications.
Thanks!

Does anyone have the latest Google Now Apk? I uninstalled it because I thought I wasn't going to use it, and....well, I kind of want it back. I did make a android backup when I rooted, but that was a loooong time ago. I still have Google, Google search, voice, etc. I just don't have Now, and it's not on the play store. Could anyone help me out?
I'm running 4.2.1 at the moment.

Google Now is in the play store for me, it's listed as Google Search
That's odd...
I searched Google Search in the market, clicked "uninstall" , which uninstalled the updates, then reinstalled the updates, and now it's showing up. Odd...
Ah well, it works now. Thanks a lot, ronnie498. Not sure what happened, but it's working now.

Dont worry... Its a bug... From your carrier signal , it appears that you are currently roaming. Play store updates are not getting downloaded over mobile data when roaming.. I experienced the same issue... It will work fine over wifi or if you get back to your proper circle ... Hopefully a fix is on the way
Hey thanks for replying....... But is this normal...... Phone being wake all night..... Even after screen off and almost all essential apps greenified..... And play services not updating......

What the heck did you do? Are you unlocked or rooted? If you know what you are doing then start all over and stop messing with stuff until it's stable. And no, it's not normal.

No, there is no software bug in the OS. You need to stop whatever apps you have running or reset the device and start over.
The battery should improve in a day or so after google play services finish synchronising, just give it one to two days

Did you tried to reconnect your Google account?
Ive removed it turn off and on the device and logged in again
Similar thing happened to me today. I uninstalled Google Play Store updates in the app manager to get my list of installed apps to show again. Then I had to reboot my phone once to keep any detached apps from accidentally updating in the Play Store (YouTube). After finally updating Play Store, I haven't had any issues so far.

No problem.
I have a 6t tmobile version that I updated to the international version and I have an app that won't load. When I click on it I acts like is going to open and then closes instantly. Is supper quick that you don't really see it. Help. The app is the YouVersion bible app. The thing is that the app was working fine before the update to international version. And the only older versions work.
Every time I update I have a few apps that do this. I have to open the play store and let Android system WebView update to cure this problem. Have you checked for updates yet?

Oh, I get it. Did you disable it? That is very weird. That was needed and it being outdated was the exact cause of my problems when I had similar issues that you describe.
I remove many things from OOS, but I've noticed there a few things I have to make sure are up and running before I remove otherwise I have issues.
What I would do is try and re-enable that and update it. See if that fixes it. If it does great. Try and disable it again after that if you want. However I think you may need it. Otherwise if you are rooted, back up that app with TitaniumBackup, and probably it's data in Android / Data folders and try a fresh install (This should be a last resort)? <-- That is unless it's an app that doesn't really have data that matters. If it's something that can be freshly installed without worry go ahead.

I figure out how to enable it, but it did not help. The app keeps opening and closing instantly
try this
force stop the app, its probably running in the background
wipe the cache and data in the app(settings/apps and notifications/
then un install the app
now reboot, and let the phone settle in a minute
go to app store and try to download/ install again
thats what I would try.

Thanks for all the help. I finally got it to work. What I ended up doing was reseting the phone. I guess the last time when I used the oneplus backup app it cause a problem. Or a least that is what I think. I used the Google backup instead.
I found the answer
Hi i hope it can help for myself i finally got the ultimate tricks to prevent any background app to be killed especially the bible using text to speech output you only need to move your app to system ?
