Being my first android phone, I had a play around - used Unrevoked to root the device and install several versions on the Wildfire ROMs, but to be honest I am getting fed up having to re-install everything every time there is a bug fix, so thought I would go back to the stick rom. So I decided to restore my original backup which worked fine, only problem now is there is an update to download and install. When I try to install the update it boots into clockwork recovery and so the update does not go ahead. Any ideas on how so solve this problem? Voda unlocked UK device
BTW:- Thanks for the guys who put all the work into the custom roms, this is not a criticism of their work - its just I want to go back to a fully working system. Cheers
Hi, you have to rename the zip file : "update.zip" and put it on your SD card. Then, you choose it in recovery.

The update is downloaded automatically by the OS it's not something I have downloaded manually - Do you know where the system would download the file?
It downloads to sdcard/downloads folder i think.
I think too
Thanks guys, yes the upgrade was downloaded to that folder - it took a few attemtps to apply but worked.
So if I wanted to get rid of the clockovery pieces will I need to apply one of the RUU shipped roms? There is not one listed for voda (english) but would it be safe to apply the latest WWE ?
Hi guys. M currently usimg Nephilim Rom V2. I was trying to flash b594 stock rom. Whenever i tried to install it with stock recovery it just says no update.app is found. Even though i extracted the update.zip file and put it in internal storage in dload folder. I cant even flash it through fastboot because it gives error even though i extracted the img files through Huawei extractor. Can anyone help!!!!
What kind of error fastboot method gives you? I always have went back to stock rom by flashing a rom in fastboot and never had problems with it
While flashing system.img i got error cant load system.img. even though it's in the same folder as adb is. There was also an error whule flashing recovery extracted from update.zip. i was flashing the recovery.img only and it says errot:too many links.

So you want your original firmware correct ? If so , go here: http://consumer.huawei.com/nl-en/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=82749
Change region (if needed) find your phone and download that.
Once you downloaded it:
1. put it on your sd card
1.1 Since when you download the file, its gonna be in .zip or .rar format, you are gonna need to extract that and what you get out of that file (its gonna be a folder called dload) put that whole thing "dload" on to your sdcard. ( put in in a main folder of your sd card its called root folder, its where your main folders are like pictures, DCIM etc.)
2. turn off your phone leave it for a sec
3. then hold all 3 buttons ( power ,volume up , volume down) and it should start installing the thing.
Hope this helps.

Ahh, sorry, I meant to say that you could try after flashing stock recovery to use EMUI updater to start the flashing.. anyway good that you got it to work
Today, I installed TWRP and rooted my device. I tried to install Xposed but I couldn't get passed the logo screen after rebooting. To try and fix this I did an advanced wipe and got rid of everything...
I know this was very stupid! TWRP is telling me there is no OS if I try to reboot. Is there a ROM I can install to fix this? I was on the stock MM rom and have L31 version.

I made the same mistake at some point, but managed to get it back up and running.
Download the correct version of "update.zip" for your phone.
In my case it is a L31C432 so I looked for a file called something like VNS-L31C432B160 (stock MM).
Download this (EU version) (if you have a L31C432)
Once the download is completed, rename the downloaded file to "update.zip".
While in Recovery on your phone, and it's connected to your pc, copy the "update.zip" to either the phone's internal memory or the sdcard (doesn't matter).
Grab your phone and go into "Install" in your recovery and find your "update.zip" file.
Slide and let it install it.
Once done, reboot.
Viola!
Remember the "Thanks" button if it helped :good:

Excellent, thank you! For some reason I had no way of signing into my Google account with that version, however I found a previous version in another thread on here and that works perfectly. Thanks.

It's meant to be unzipped and then flashed with the dload method. Hope that helps :good:
So after installing the new Nougat Update I bricked somehow my BTV-W09C100.
Just stuck at the bootlogo "Huawei Mediapad powered by android".
Can't enter Recovery Mode, only Fastboot (Rescue Mode). Recovery with Hisuite also don't work.
Any chance to unbrick? Somehow with Fastboot & Rescue Mode?
Thanks in advance.
Reggi
EDIT: Bought it at amazon few weeks ago. Do they replace it if I send it back to repair? Maybe someone tried it...
It can be flashed to MarshMallow if you can enter Recovery via the dload folder on the microSD card. Download the rollback package first, unpack it and then copy the dload folder from that archive to the microSD card. Start your tablet in Recovery mode and let it flash that. Then download the full package for the latest available MarshMallow package, delete the old dload folder from the microSD card and then copy the dload folder from the full firmware to it. Go into recovery one more time and after it finishes flashing you will be able to use your Mediapad again.
Packages are available here http://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/tablets/mediapadm3-it-sup.htm.
Doesn't work, I can't enter recovery mode. Only fastboot via USB connected to PC.
Use HUAWEI Multi-Tool.
In menu 6 pozition is Unbrick
On XDA
did the huawei multitool fixed.
wanna ask also if the tablet was on bootloop always charging and (1 min turned on stuck on mediapad logo)discharging
Hello
I am in this situation. Bootloop. 1 minute and then battery gone.
If I can go in fastboot I can flash the original recovery... But I can't (tablet unlocked)
I'll try with the multi tool.....
Bye
Do you have a some kind develope?

1) NEVER write "please help me". NEVER. We, all, are here to help others, when we are able, when we have time. A request to help is like an insult!
2) Even if English is not your mothertongue try to write WELL! One sentence per phrase, use commas and dots.
3) Use Google translator to CHECK what you wrote is translated back in your language in a understandable form!
Now, I have to admit that I don't understand what you wrote...
If the problem is the battery too low:
- you need a charger able to source 1A, an USB port it's not enough
- before doing anything let the tablet on charge for some hours, have patience!
I have the same problem, but my bootloader is locked. Am I screwed? I only have access to fastboot multi-tool won't work with a locked bootloader. Can't unlock the bootloader without the device ID which I obviously can't get. Any thoughts?

I have re-checked the file again. I would really turn off the antivirus or anything related at least while the download is active if even this file is corrupted on your side. When you finish downloading it, let me know, so I can delete it. I do not even have the 4G Mediapad https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwsY7NWt1tZHanZlSWxMdDM0QXM/view?usp=sharing

Hello,
i bought my Axon this week from Amazon Warehouse.
My problem is, that im not able to update my ROM.
I tried OTA, Install over Recovery (SD-Card), Install over Recovery (ADB Sideload).
All methods failed..
OTA is downloading the update, rebooting and than crashing. Hard to tell why, because i dont see any error logs. Just the information "Update Failed".
Next method i tried was to install over SD-Card. I downloaded the Update from ZTE, moved to my SD and tried to update. But my Smartphone always tells me "Couldn't mount /sdcard".. I tried to Format it with extFAT and FAT32 but both failed.
The last method I tried was using the ADB Sideload. I tried it with the update file, and also with the STOCK-Rom from this site: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/download-center-factory-images-ota-t3606547. But also i get an error message.. ADB tellst me "Total xfer 0.00x"...
Have i bougth a bricked Axon? Can I update somehow to the new version?
I have the option to send it back to Amazon, but it was 100€ cheaper, so i would love to fix the problem.
Kind regards,
t4ggno
Recovery stock and SD card seem to be the most reliable method.
Did you check the md5 of the zip? Also update.zip to put on root of the SD card should be the final zip, not the zip that contains another zip.
Also when booting in Android, I assume your SD is recognized, isn't it?
If so, instead of going to recovery then update from SD card, you can try to update from inside Android, from Phone settings, then Update item.
The phone should indicate the current version and the version to be updated to. Then follow the phone indication to update.
Nope, i dont checked MD5. But shouldn't be the problen. I tried many different update files, always same error.
Yes, after booting the SD card is connected and i could use it. Just the recovery mode cant mount the card.
Also the updater recognize my update. But he just boot in the recovery mode and try to update -> Same error: "couldn't mount /sdcard"
Edit 1:
But i can check the MD5 files if necessary. I just need the "correct" MD5 value to compare.
Just a guess:
Is your micro SD card size greater than or equal to 128 GB? Some version has this bug, size less than or equal to 64 GB should work better. To try if this is the case.

Why are you using an SD card though? Put it in the root of the internal storage and it will surely pop up, then try again from Updates, not the recovery (and get the SD off the phone to avoid the phone from detecting the zip there)
Otherwise root and get TWRP and flash Tron1's stuff

I don't know where you read that, but the closest answer that I can give you is: if you don't install SuperSU, Magisk, or the dm-verity patch, TWRP will get replaced with the stock recovery and you'll have to flash it again (~2 minutes anyways). But it is in no way incompatible. Also you can relock and stuff, but yeah better keep the warranty at least until you're sure that your phone is good.
You unpacked the zip that you downloaded right? to get the update.zip inside? Or did you download it from raysteff's thread? It should work anyways
Another thing: What is your phone's model (G, U, chinese) and what is the update that you're trying to install? I guess it will fail if it is from another model, and if you're trying to jump fron a very old MM build to a very new N build it will probably fail too. Keep that in mind.
First, what is the version of your device?
I'm guessing you are using a chinese device with modified rom. Those units can't install updates unless you first restore to original chinese rom.

I didnt unpacked the folder. A recovery normally installs zip files?! The zip file isn't packed twice. The zip contains the files directly.
I tried the package A2017G-MM-B11 and A2017G-N-B01 from the link I posted, also i tried the oficiell patch files from the axon website (B10 and Nougat)

I have a A2017G (that information i found on the back of my phone).
My phone overview tells me:
Modelnumber: ZTE A201G
Build-Number: ZTE A2017GV1.0.0B08
Android-Version: 6.0.1
Security-Patch: 1. December 2016
I can try to install the B09. Probably this patch is required to go to version 10 (and than to nougat)?
Don't know if it applies to your situation, but when the OTA for 7.x came out, there was a bug that would not allow the update to be applied if there was an SD card installed. I know I had to pull my card to get the update to take. Might try running the OTA without the card installed and see if it works.

No, B09 was a patch only for Spain.
The zip you download from the ZTE website has a bunch of numbers as name and has an update.zip inside and a PDF or sth like that. The one you have to flash is the update.zip inside, just sayin'...
If you download the zips from raysteff's thread they are already unpacked.
Try installing an older zip, like B03, then B10

The big problem still exists -> I cant mount my SD card in recovery mode, so I cant install any patch.
I really want to try B03 as you suggested, but i am unable to install it.
I will search another SD card an try to use it. Probably my SD card has some problems.
Edit: I download my files from these side: http://www.ztemobile.de/support/downloads/?product_id=2100
They dont contain a update.zip. Only many .dat, .bin, .img and .mbn files.

Thanks! That worked very well. I did a factory reset and moved the update file directly to the root of my internal storage. After that the updater detected my update and I could install the Patch B011. After that i was able to update to Nougat trough OTA. No errors, every worked fine.
