I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus from Rogers that is not under warranty anymore. Recently, my phone started getting stuck, so I did a factory reset. I tried flashing it using Odin but I think I messed up. Now, whenever I turn my phone on, it remains in the boot screen "......powered by Android" for a bit and then the screen goes blank with the blue static light on top left. I can see that holding down the volume-down+home+power button works as I am able to go into download mode. But if I use volume-up_home+power. The phone stays in the "....powered by Android" screen and then moves to Installing Software Updates (blue screen) and then comes back to ".....powered by Android". Then the screen goes black after a while with the static blue light on top-left and it remains like that until the battery runs out.
I see that I am able to connect to Odin in download mode. Need your help in getting my phone into a working. I am new to this so would need some instructions/links on what and how to install the latest rom on my device and get it to work. I cant use this device anymore and would like to get this phone into a state where I am able to use it and return by friend's old phone which I am using as a loaner.
flash the stock rom using odin
make sure that you're using the LATEST firmware for your phone model. refer to the box

I installed Euro firmware, on the second flash everything just stay'ed black, and I waited awhile till I decided to power off then power back on. First thing I saw was AT&T connect boot screen, then it went black but I can still hear Samsung's power up theme, also device has a Vertical Line running down the right side. I noticed that If I press power button twice Tab comes on, and everything looks great, so I rooted my device and installed Titanium Backup,Everything seems okay. So my question is how do I get rid of the AT&T Boot logo and to be able to see Samsung logo on boot?
\\\\\\\Exactly what happens on fresh boot/////
-fresh boot- AT&T Connected screen comes up, then screen goes black with the line on the right, then Samsung's power up theme song comes on buttons light up screen stays black line goes away, then screen still black, then to initialize the screen I press power button twice. Comes on and works fine.
****Would love to fix that part, I would be most greatfull for life! Willing to pass on info, to all who want more!****

Install euro firmware with bootloaders. JJ4 is good one since it's bootloader is not signed. Then you can install newer euro firmware over it.
However, so far there is no known way to go back to AT&T bootloaders. So you ca't fully restore to AT&T if needed.

I got a samsung vibrant Tmobile and after flashing a custom Rom
I got AT&T bootup screen! Any answer will be appreciate !
There is a thread for this titled "How to fix at&t black screen with thin white line at boot up". I know you can find it by searching - I wrote it.
Recently purchased S4 SGH-I337M locked to Bell. Before I paid for the phone I installed CPU-Z and Genuine Galaxy apps just to make sure it is not fake S4. Both apps showed the phone is genuine S4. The phone looks genuine inside (I checked the motherboard, camera, etc) and outside (thin frame, power light far from the speaker, etc). The phone is running offical ROM.
However, I can't put the phone in download mode using buttons. Tried all possible combinations so many times. I can put the phone in download mode using ADB but even then there is nothing on the screen. I was able to flash the latest official Bell firmware via ADB hoping the new flash will enable download mode. No luck. Still no download mode. When holding volume down, home and power buttons the phone vibrates, I let the power button go and after that nothing happens. The screen stays black. I tried the combination without home button, just volume down and power button. Still nothing. When using the phone all buttons work properly. I am able to put the phone into recovery mode no problem. Recovery mode displays late (I need to wait for 7-10 seconds) but it looks and works just fine.
One other thing that is also strange - there is no "Samsung Galaxy S4" logo when the phone boots up. The phone stays black and the first thing it shows is the Samsung booting animation.
Just wondering if anyone has seen something like this before?
What could be the issue here?
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestion/advice.
I apologize if I posted this in a wrong category.
hi there everyone, i have verizon variant of the s7 edge. yesterday my screen started to shutter when in an app and the eventually would go black, although the phone would still be on because the back and recent apps buttons on the bottom would still be lit. ive read on line and watched videos saying to do a hard reboot, didnt work. as of now it is completey black nothing will show. the lcd still works becasue the boot animation will still show. i am not able to get into recovery more or download mode. but i am able to get into maintance mode, ive tried a factory reset through maintance mode and didnt work the phone would just boot into the black screen. the phone is completely stock, no root or anything. Any help is appreciated.
Try to use smart switch and do an emergency software recovery.
Also, what does it do when you try to get into download mode?
When i try to get into download mode by using volume down, home button, and power, nothing happens its another black screen. Was hoping I could get into download mode to try to reflash the stock firmware. Also I can't use smart switch app because the screen is completely black when I turn it on.
Hi,
unfortunately I have a problem with my Galaxy S5 running CM.
Some days ago, the power button got stuck in the case so that it was pressed for quite a long time. When I tried to turn the phone back on it only showed the logo for a while, vibrated and rebooted.
I tried to boot the phone in safe mode which didn't help and then in 'transfer mode' (sorry, I don't know the right term. I think it's the mode where I transfer a custom ROM). The latter without connecting to a computer so it said something like 'transfering, don't turn off' for a while. Eventually, I had to turn off the phone cause nothing happened.
Now, when I try to boot the phone it just vibrates and stays black. Not even a LED flashes. When I connect it to my PC it vibrates and the PC recognizes something but doesn't show any connected hardware. It just installs a driver.
People at a repair store said the screen is dead but I don't really believe it because there was no physical damage of any sort.
Is there a way to repair my phone?
If you turned it off mid flash you have no ROM. There's nothing to boot. Use volume up, power and home while booting. Load recovery. Flash the ROM and don't stop it. If it doesn't work get a different ROM and try again
Hey everyone,
last week my s10+ screen turned half white when i was outside with my dog.
It started a couple months ago with a black spot on the left of my screen. I thought it wasn't a big problem as it wasn't in the middle of the screen.
Last week I was taking a walk with my dog, I checked my phone for a football match kickoff time and put the phone back in my pocket. I later checked my phone again and noticed half of my screen was white.
The screen did react to swiping and even the fingerprint scanner worked. I went to KPN (which is the phone carrier I use) and explained the whole situation. They told me I had to reset my phone to factory settings. When I got home I tried to reset my phone however when I pressed the reset button my phone would just restart without deleting anything. So after a bit of googling I tried flashing stock firmware. I made sure it was the latest one and made sure it was for my phone. The flashing finished but now my screen doesnt work at all. I tried the booting into download mode methods however I cant get any screen output ever since I flashed that stock firmware. The phone does vibrate when I start it up and it does connect to my pc.(S10 folder pops up, but its empty) I also tried ADB however the phone doesnt show in the devices list. (probably because USB-Debugging has somehow turned off). I did root my device with magisk a couple months ago and i'm afraid I somehow bricked it when i tried flashing stock firmware on it.
Is there any way for me to get into download mode to try another stock firmware?
Note: I dont have any screen output at all, so I have to do everything blindly.
