I don't know what I did, but last night I had an issue with package installer, after wiping cache and dalvik I could install whatever I wanted, I then start using the phone like usual expecting in 3 hours to have to charge, but no, I used it all through the night, haven't slept at all.
I'm so confused, for ROM I use Fulmics 4.1 but it says 4.2 although ota failed to update. Melina new kernal, Fulmics bootloader, 3.2.1 twrp
Why??? How?? And even weirder, I was going to repair my battery today. Even writing this an hour after the screenshot being taken I'm only at 19%
This wasn't light usage either, I was watching YouTube videos, web browsing, texting all that. And barely.
Can someone explain what happened.
Update:
after going down to 3% I managed to get a 9 hour SoT, remember this was normal usage and the phone felt smooth and nice definitely not being underclocked, this is amazing.
One thing to note is that I did charge 4 percent at one point at around 18% but still over 8 hours with little to no charge.
I'm about to do this again hopefully get similar results
Congrats dude
This phone has amazing battery life. If you're not getting something like 5-6h screen on time, something is wrong with your apps/setting/connections.

Definitely. If you stick with fulmics+melina, without playing games too much, you get 6-7, even 8 hours SoT easily.
Oreo did take about 1-2h of my SoT but it's not that worse.
Same as said before, if you get lower numbers, you should search for the problem.

I find that idle drain is what kills my phone, even with AoD off I'll get 12 hours in a day, with constant usage that means like 10 hours SoT but normal usage gives lower numbers like 3-4 it's almost as if the disable doesn't matter it just drains 10 percent per hour.

no way mate.
you have some sort of process alive. my standby night (8 hours) rarely reach 3-4%
try to clean cache\dalvik just before the long standby
How did you clean the cache? The button combination I have used on other phones (power + vol down) does not seem to get me into the boot menu on the G6.

I flashed a twrp, and wiped the cache from there
Also found that if I wipe dalvik cache daily I get good standby and SoT so I'll just do that until I get a new phone

I'm unrooted, so I can't wipe dalvik. Wiping the normal cache every 1-2 days does help, though. I've also recently had really good battery life by doing this.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm pretty sure those require root privelages to be deleted. No matter how many times I delete them, they always "reappear" after rebooting, so they're probably stored within the system files.
Here's an idea: maybe they can be deleted permanently through ADB. I wouldn't know how, though.

Today my nexus one has been running for 261 hours, that's 11 days without rebooting it. Still going strong and smooth as ever.
I've done this test many times but always lose track cause it goes so long.
What's the longest running time you've had?
3 days for me. I try to re-boot every night though.
193 hrs and counting, I never kept track, but can't remember rebooting more often than once every 1-2 wks.
542 hrs and counting....
right now it's 162:36:07...08...09...10...11....
I don't think I've ever gone 200+ hours mainly because it's like a computer... after a while, a nice reboot helps!
think about it... CPU, RAM, ROM, Wifi/BT/3G Chip ... gotta give it a nice reboot once in a while!
Now if I had a Nexus S, my biggest uptime would be 10-15 minutes... what's with all those stories of it rebooting in the middle of calls???
Only 48 hrs, since I power down almost every night.
1097.3 hours. 45 days, 17 hours, 18 seconds. I finally found up rebooting it to upgrade from Enom 2.12.x to 2.14.x
I don't have the screenshot I made a while back, due to some dumbassery on the count of Dropbox adding a new PC and deciding it was the share to sync against; ie: nuking all of my Dropbox files, but anywho.... Uptime widget on my phone still has that as the max.
23d 5h at the moment..
I don't see any performance differences so why bother rebooting it.
EDIT: Aha, interesting, I did add an image here in a post of 44 days, a day or so before I rebooted.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9327323&postcount=730
Currently I have 642 hours but I had more.
Usually I only reboot due to upgrades or power loss.
I guess Gingerbread will break the next update...

I believe there talking about on time not battery life.
My longest was a week needed it as an alarm clock in vacation. Usually I do a power cycle every morning.
Thanks to MicroMod's gingerbread updates I get maximum a week before I flash a new version.

If you do want the normal battery life just turn off the data connection. My test I did last week turned my nexus one into a normal running phone just by doing this. Went 7 hours at work, with 1 hour of screen on time, and was still at 85%.
If I'm going out and need long battery life I'll just turn off the data, then check once in a while for new emails etc.
The whole reason android phones get poor battery is because the OS keeps an always on data connection. Even switching to WiFi shoots battery life way up.

You can *generally* flash a nightly update without wiping all your data. Backup just to be safe, flash - if it works, great. If not, set your stuff up. If you don't have time for that, just flash back to the backup. Easy

Could also use an application like JuiceDefender or Tasker to automatically toggle data at set intervals. This way you still get regular updates (emails, messages, etc), but at a fraction of the battery expense.

Doing a factory reset before installing anything is becoming the gold standard.
Hope it helps you.
I get between 7-9 hours of active use. Sounds like some process is running amok on yours. I didn't factory reset when I bought it either....though I have rooted it since then, but battery life is about the same pre and post root.
You might want to consider a program to monitor battery use to see what's eating it up. Maybe do that before you factory reset it so you don't install the same thing again.

System panel is a good app to find what's using your CPU and better batterystats can help find what's keeping your phone from going to deep sleep. An easy way to see if this is the case is go into battery setting and select the first option(history details). Compare the Awake bar with the screen on bar. Those two should be nearly identical if not then you have a rogue app.

have you flashed any kernels or roms? sometimes this makes the tablet report the wrong battery stats for a bit.
did you run the battery down until it turns off and then give it a full charge? sometimes you have more juice than what is being reported. ive been stuck at 1-2% for over an hour before. Most likely its a rogue app though, system panel and better batterystats should find out what app it is. if they dont then it could be that you have a defective battery...
Been on mine continuously for 3 hrs 18 mins and at 60%. Excellent if you ask me. Next step up in battery life would be Transformer series with dock.

Quite the opposite for me; unlike every other Android device I've had (Nexus One, GS2) the battery life is excellent. I watched 720p mkv video on the train yesterday for a good 3 hours, and still had ~70% by the time I got home, from a full charge.
The battery life is excellent, as far as I'm concerned.

Don't think you needed to calibrate the battery to begin with. I usually get fine battery life without doing anything special.
Something must be causing the poor battery on your Nexus, Yesterday after my N7 was fully charged, I watched the movie Thor for 1hr and 54 minutes n and my battery only dropped to 83%.
I'm at 16 hours and 52 minutes with 3 hours and 44 minutes of on screen time, the battery is at 51%

Unless you listen to music for over 5 hours or streaming the songs it shouldnt use that much battery. If you can't find a wakelock with better battery stats then it might just be a bad unit.
Hey guys,
I've joined the club and bought an Axon 7 A2017G.
In my first 2 days of usage, I noticed I needed to charge the phone at least twice per day.
After reading quite a few threads about this issue, I installed GSam battery monitor. It lists my SOT as 1hr 13 minutes, and battery life at 10 hours.
At turning just about everything off, installing Greenify and applying aggressive doze, I was no longer getting a wakelock.
I have however found that GSam shows that my screen is discharging over twice as much battery power, as compared to having the screen on.
I was wondering if this was normal, and if not, any suggestions in increasing battery life?
Not normal try a reset.
Something keeping the phone awake, haven't used gsam in ages.. betterbatterystats is far superior in helping track down what's keeping it awake but requires root.
You can use this app to access original battery stat. Works very well.

I'll try that next. I've just completed a factory reset, so hopefully that helps out.
I found it quite strange that Screen Off used more power (52%) than Screen on (20%).
GSam didn't report any wakelock, and the phone was in doze quite often.
Seems that the factory reset has done the trick.
Now trickle re-installing apps.
Fingers crossed that battery usage stays relatively normal.

Mine seems mediocre. After charging overnight I usually need to charge in the evening. I get about 10hrs per charge with 2-2.5hrs SoT. Are you getting better results than this after the FR?

As GSam hasn't gotten all required data yet, I will go off what Android reports.
I have used 30% of my battery in 9 hours, with approximately the screen on for 3 hours. Bear in mind that I've had wifi on for approximately 5 hours with a mixture of screen on and off.
Just having a stab in the dark here, but, two apps that I haven't redownloaded are Swiftkey and Nova Launcher. Instead I installed GBoard and Google Launcher. Don't know if that had mde any difference.
So yes, far better results after the FR

Few suggestions,
Firstly I did was install battery stats app and check if you can find whats eating batery
If that doesnt help I would say flash firmware with odin including data(Backup before this). After that do an Full Reset and then try.
Since This is complete OS upgrade it will help clean lots of things. I am getting 5-6hrs SOT. All the best

I had terrible battery life initially as well. So I did a factory reset and...battery life still sucked. I think that was because I allowed Samsung and Google to restore my apps and previous app data. So, I did another factory reset and a completely clean installation of all my apps (no Samsung or Google-assisted restoring of apps). Since then, battery has been back to normal, which for me is about 4 hours of SOT.

Same here. I did a clean app install also and that helped. The only thing I allowed to be restored was my gmail calendar and contacts.
Yeah my upgrade made my phone glitchy and half the battery life I used to get. But on the plus side my phone doesn't run as hot and lock up when downloading large torrents.
Hey Everyone,
Can someone please tell me what's draining my battery? I used 32% of battery and didnt even get 2 hours of SOT. I do see that my connection is bad.. (at work right now on the 11th FL). I did turn on airplane mode but it seems like the mobile radio wont turn off? Anyone else facing the same issues?
Currently on stock OOS 4.5.14 Kernel- Simplegx Kernel
I don't know. I'm on stock 4.5.14 and stock kernel. I am getting about 9-12 hours of SOT and .3-.6% idle drain for a combined drain average of about 2.2-4.5% an hour depending on medium to heavy use. I don't do anything to crazy with my setup. I just turn off my google account sync unless i add a contact or something then i manually sync them, turn off background data for each app that has no need for background data usage. Work email is on push and personal email is set to fetch every 3 hours.
Seems you're not alone, my 4G+ isnt' great, never seems to connect in the same places my old phone did, and even when it does its nowhere near as fast.
Data is sub-par compared to other devices, it's that simple i've been through every single setting, nothing can change it.
I don't know ow either. I have my OnePlus 5 since a few weeks ago and so far its battery is showing being the best I've ever used till now (I upgraded from a G4+).
I usually get 7-8 hours of SoT with medium usage:
- WhatsApp
- Phoenix (Facebook/Messenger)
- YouTube
- Some gaming (Free Fire Battlegrounds)
- WiFi + 4G+ (switching between them depending on where I am).
I leave home early on morning with full charge and get back with about 30% left.
About the 4G+, it's showing really good here, nothing to complain about it.

right.. and the damn phone radio is ALWAYS active. Even in airplane mode it wont turn off. It's frustrating. I'm trying to locate what is really eating my battery and i dont have a clue.

This was one of my lasts batt usage status. It isn't that good cuz I had some more usage on that day, but I've got best scores

Are you sure? How do you know? Could that be the settings Mobile Data always on? Or maybe allowing google to scan for networks, allowing apps to use data without permission? Not 100% if it's the phone.
Thinking about that, what if you are actually on a plane lol

Seems average at best. I'm using only a single sim and I don't have SOT like that.

Lol my battery stats say so... and airplane mode is SUPPOSED to shut off mobile data but the radio is still active. It never turns off for me. Idk bro I'm using Gsam to find the stats but I cant find whats going on. Can you take a closer look for me?

Are you using beta or stock? Tried wiping cache? I've seen some reports that after a while cache the battery showed very good.

stock. Inerased cache multiple times. I'm going to reflash OOS and lightning kernel. Hopefully a factory reset will help.

I can't see your screenshots. I'm dying to know your stats because I'm with T-mobile as well. Would you mind re-uploading them?

Sure, post some screen shots from: Settings/battery. Click the graph for detailed and non detailed.
Post gsam too.
