Hey,
Unfortunately, I bought a second hand GPixel. And as many of You guys I'm occuring some problems like low earpiece volume and camera focus failture.
I read lots posts of this kind failtures and didn't find any solution except replacing motherboard.
But I have idea, maybe we can ask someone for answer what is causing this problems? There's guy on YouTube, Louis Rossmann. I saw he's pretty good at solving those problems. Maybe we should try?

Yeah you could go ahead and ask him :good:
I think we can reflow the audio codec chipset pretty easily with the right tools and that may fix the problem. But my Pixel is currently my only phone and I can't risk it.

My understanding is that the problem lies when flipping the touch inputs over the axis, and Google CLAIMS that it is a hardware quality malfunction.
I'm thinking there might be a way to rewrite some code in order to fix this, though i really don't know where to start, and I'm not the best coder as far as Android goes, so i wont be much help.
Any ideas on where to start?

Google doesn't claim it's a malfunction, do they? Just a hardware limitation.
Well I mixed the words up, but I've been thinking about it, and it just bothers me and makes me figure there has to be a possible fix. Maybe when the fingers hit a specific coordinate, it predicts the movements or something ya know?
Who cares.
It's not causing me any problems or grief.
Some people obsess way to much about nothing.

thank you...some people are so defensive that they think that if we complain about an obvious issue we are trashing the device.
The software filtering mentioned by Cyanogen should resolve the most apparent issues, but I don't know if anyone has tested this proper on the Nexus One or if Google is ever going to enable it by default.
Easy to test, go to a very quiet room. Really quiet. Put your phone to your ear while screen off and listen. (Not phone off)
You will hear a faint sound, static, cracking well some kind of noise.
This is nothing new, and not just bound to this phone. However I had this issues only on the Nexus 4 and never noticed it on other phones I had.
It becomes a bit annoying while in call, really quiet room, and every pause, when both parties are not talking.
I think only option is learn to live with it? As if the numerous threads from N4 and other devices are true, this is a HW fault on all devices. Some ppl just do not hear it. What varies is the intensity, which ppl reported that exchanged their devices.
Is there someone on some variant not hearing it? (State your age as well)
Is there someone who exchanged their device based on this problem and got a new one with a different level of the noise?
Mine is international LG D802
I do hear the pops and squeals when I'm on a call, but not otherwise. VZW version, rooted, stock rom, "A" version of modem/radio.
Here's the thread I started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502265

The sound that you experience, since its through your BT as well, might be normal connection/call sounds. I have this really on all phones even sometimes on iPhone. But if its something tha tyou do not expect to hear, and have it constantly , bring it for repairs, I do not have somehting out of the ordinary in the calls, except what I described in the OP.
What I mean its really like static electricity, cracking sounds. But its faint, you won't notice it in normal environment, at least not when you do not know what to look for. There are youtube videos for the N4 with the sound I mean. cant listen to it now, as I am at work but I think something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wOxtzStUZ4
you really need a quiet environment, put your ear to the earpiece.
Also thanks for your post!
I am on ATT and noticed this and I was thinking about returning it but I tested the display model at the ATT store and the same thing. I tested an Iphone 4s and the same thing with the earpiece. I think this is more common than people think because you really have to be in a quiet setting to actually hear it. Thanks

FWIW, I haven't had this issue at all since the update came out months ago. Maybe they just haven't updated the demo model in the store.
Thanks for the info are you saying you had the issue prior to KitKat and the OTA with KitKat resolved the problem

I have the same issue (internationl LG G2)
Isn't there any fix?

whether you'll be kind enough to write a link for what you did two months ago, as you say it is successful and that the problem is solved. I tried to find it but I could not

All I did was accept the 12B update. 24A (Kit Kat) is rolling out now, I believe.
I'm sorry for bringing this from dead, but have you guys found any solution for this? Or it's not fixable once it occurs? charging + headphones +v4a developed this bug this evening on my g2.

My ears or better brain adjusted... same way you adjust to every annoying sound after a while. It is there... but you stop caring - hearing it.
I do not believe there is a software fix. If your problem is the one that I described, new hw might help.
But as I said. I adjusted ...
Definitely seems to be hardware problem. If I knew about it earlier I would never connect headphones and charger at the same time. Symptoms: static noise @ approx. 120bpm from both speakers, while phone in deep sleep.
Tried uninstalling v4a drivers, app, poweramp, flashing different kernels, clearing caches, and what so not.
I don't want to raise hope, but I found temporary workaround. I'm on stock kk, and I use g2 tweaksbox and gravitybox to get statusbar aosp quicksetting tiles. There is a compass tile. If I leave it ON there is no more noise. At first I thought that maybe this prevents phone from deep sleeping, but bbs is showing that phone sleeps well. Have not tested standby battery impact yet.

Hi,
Thanks for the remainder, as I noticed latest @dorimanx kernel eliminates this (from v 8) and my itchy fingers installed Viper4Android again and yes I struck my luck the distortion starts again...
My conclusion is an option between have better audio performance in mid to high volume level. But, lived my days with G2 enjoying the distort...
Or uninstall everything about viper4android and listen to flat music beat...
And I choose ingore the distort and drive away with awesome audio performance in my bluetooth car audio....
Cheers,
Hey, do you have xposed? I noticed that if I enable compass in quicktiles, there will be no more crackling. But I'm not sure about battery. So I use this when it's quite, in the evening, and I start hearing cracks, I just turn on compass.
Well hello there,
it seems like the Note 3 also has the crackling sound issues of the S4, meaning, you record a video and get some popping noises and crackling every once in a while.
Compare it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317900&page=10
Here are some examples:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/samsung...478712-videoaufnahme-knackser-stoertoene.html
Now does anyone know where this comes from and how to fix it? Is there any fix at all?

So I am the only one with this issue? Or do you guys never make a video?
Seems like no one gives a ****?
Sorry, but once again:
Do you guys don't post here because you don't care for videos or because you don't have the issues?
Anyone?

How is that possible that no one here is affected while in a german board almost everyone have this issue, also with S4?
Hey mate.
I just started a new post with the same issue. I hope someone can get back to us about this issue it'd be much appreciated.

Popping sounds when skipping tracks and in recorded video playback
Sent from LV-426...
---------- Post added at 02:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:34 PM ----------
I've spoken to multiple people about this. And even at Samsung stores and tele retailers they day its not normal. Bit so many people are having the issue... Could it be software? Do an of you guys have a factory note 3? Not romed by a carrier? Or has anyone got a custom rom installed and did that make a difference?
I'm still in your 30 day ELF and I'm not sure if I need to get it replaced. It's weird.
I even got pops when I skip tracks in music players if I'm running through an auxiliary cable. Not through headphones. This issues has really stumped me. Usually you can single out something but I can't with this. I want to root and install a custom rom but if that doesn't work, I have to restore to get back to factory to return it...
Thanks in advance guys.

I just picked up a Note 3 last Saturday and recorded my first video today. I also have this issue. Hopefully a fix will come soon...
Hi to all, did you try to record videos in offline mode?
Please try to record videos with airplane mode activated an let me know if you have some improvements..
Event the Note 3 reviewed by gsmarena had the issue:

Yes. I noticed that the popping sound only occurs when I'm tapping my screen while recording. Seems popping sound is the tapping sound recorded. Maybe the microphone is very sensitive to even record our screen tapping sound. Just a thought though

It would be nice if this new firmware would solve the problem. I'm still a bit suspicious.
Anyway, my italian no brand phone does not find any new updates from samsung's servers....
[edit]
Updated to N9005XXUENC2: the problem remains.
Tested a brand new galaxy s4 yesterday: cracling on recorded video.
Too bad samsung.
Anyone else have had their camera vibrate like crazy with audible sounds and the display for the camera shot showing sorta like a motion blur effect or like water waves?
Any fix for this if its a software issue? or hardware issue and i should get it sent back?
It seemed to be fine a few months back when i just got it and it was on B02, seems to have begun since B05 or B08 if i recall correctly, currently on Nougat 7.0 (2017G Version)
I think it's the OIS going crazy. I have the same issue, I think this is hardware caused. It doesn't bother me much because restarting the camera usually helps for me
Restarting camera is a temp fix, I would like a software patch from ZTE though
Here are my experiences with it:
Any updates or fixes on this issue?

There are like ten threads about this, and the only solution is an RMA. Or change the module by itself
I'm running in to the same problem with my device recently. It seems like the problem is occurring increasingly more often..

Was / is the same for me! But then again if OIS was completely broken, wouldn't it occure every time? But as I stated before this seems to mostly happen to me, when my phone is used in very hot conditions (hot day and out in direct sunlight for some time). I've tried using it in "cooler" circumstances and did not have this issue there so far.... So I don't know if I'm going to send my phone in right now... honestly I'd rather not. :/
Consider it to be faulty and return it. There isn't any amount of software that can fix it. I talked with ZTE and they said it was hardware related. RMA is the only way. My OIS slowly started to die. It would only happen 1/10 times and by the time I sent it in, it was happening 9.9/10 times.
Hey, last week I brought a J7 prime and noticed an odd clicking like noise coming from the phone when using any app that uses the camera. It's a similar sound like when you plug in an aux cord and you get that noise but quieter. I took it to Samsung repair shop and they said they couldn't find any issue with the phone, so I ended up replacing it for a new one. With the new phone I also noticed the highly annoying sound which made me think it was something to do with the camera focusing but a friend said they didn't have the issue with their phone.I took it back yet again and decided to swap it out for the J5 2016 as of yesterday only again to find the same issue!
Im incredibly sorry and feel stupid if its just how the camera focuses but it is extremely annoying when using apps like snapchat to talk to friends how the sound continues in the background. If any of you know whats creating the issue/ know how to fix it or just to tell me its normal I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!!!

Same here. Speaker will give a noise when starting or quitting snapchat or apps that use camera
