Home CSC for SM-A510F?! - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi Guys,
I've got a Galaxy A5 2016 (SM-A510F DBT) from a friend. The device seems stuck at the last system update and does not start anymore. Since he did not backup his data, I try to flash the latest firmware via Odin. I read that there is now a 4-part firmware version for Galaxy devices and two CSC files. The Home CSC file supposedly does not reset the data when they flash, but I can only find the regular CSC files. The firmware was loaded with SamFirm.
Someone an idea?
Thanks!

Cannot do "Software update" after firmware update

Hi,
I updated my p7510 that i bought in canada (xac) with firmware xwkg7. I live in germany and wanted a european version of the fw.
I did the following:
-Update tab (pit, bootloader, csc, code) using P7510XXKFC
-Update tab (code) using P7510XWKG7
After the update recovery gave me strange error messages (/preload cannot be mounted and so on). However, I installed CWM, so I do not have these errors anymore.
I also did factory reset, wipe cache...
However, since I updated the firmware I cannot use "about tablet->software update->update" anymore. I always get the following error message:
"Failed to update firmware due to network or server problem. Try software update later (Setting->Software update->Update) or using PC software (Kies)"
Before the update this worked just fine (although no update could be found). I dont have network problems, as I can browse, chat etc.
Since the update Kies is also not showing my current firmware version on my tab.
I guess it has something todo with the country where I bought the tab (canada) and the rom that i used to update (europe version)?
Do you know or have ideas how I could fix this problem?
I dont like the feeling that somwthing is not working on my tab
Thanks!
Klaus
Try to reflash the stock recovery with odin and factory reset, that will recreate the needed data structure on the tab and try again.
Or maybe its because you mixed incompatible code/csc.
Start over.
I found the solution.
I described it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1280069
In short: csc files were completely missing. This caused all my trouble.
Hope this will help someone.
Klaus
I have the same problem.
So if I want to fix I have to install csc and PDA files at the same time?
Does that mean all my data will be erased?
Could I just use csc?
Where can I find these files?
Sorry for the 1000 questions!
I am currently on vacation and can not tell you the firmware versions, but at Sammy firmware I found two European rom versions. One had also a csc file that I flashed.
Flashing the original csc file with Odin will do a factory reset. You could also download a custom rom, extract the csc stuff and copy it to /system,if you want to avoid factory reset. You have the choice
But if you use an original PDA/code file and flash it with Odin, csc files are not included and must be added afterwards somehow!

Active CSC code

Hi guys,
I recently bought an S5 which was on 3 UK. I've downloaded the S5 BTU Firmware and installed it through Odin.
I then factory data reset after installing but when I connect to Kies, it's still saying that my phone's CSC is H3G. I've downloaded Phone Info and it says my CSC is BTU but the active CSC is H3G/BTU.
How do I get rid of the H3G so I can get full BTU OTA updates? I'm not sure how to go about it as I thought that a factory reset would sort the CSC problem.
Any help would be great
Thanks.
***EDIT***
Seems I found the problem. I forgot to go into recovery after flashing BTU firmware.
Went into recovery and now all is sorted and i'm on full BTU

I have the same problem with multi csc. How do you sorted it out from recovery? Also, does it wipe all data?
Thanxxx!

reboot again into recovery to set up CSC code.

Help me understand CSC codes, Flashing different firmwares and Odin

OK - I started with a unbranded UK A300FU - CSC code BTU on 5.x
I flashed a (supposedly) UK VOdafone 6.0.1 rom using Odin and the ROM n the AP sjlot
It appears this failed - my Modem wasn't updated an WiFi failed - the advice elsewhere is to go into download from a cold phone.
Also, it would appear the firmware wasn't UK, but some germanic version
I restored from a TWRP backup
My phone details now says the "orginal CSC Code" is VD2
If I want get back to showing Original code as BT should I re-flash in Odin the firmware that matched the twrp backup ? If so , should I stil use the AP slot, or should I use the CSC slot?
Many thanks
Use CSC slot.
Also, the reason why your TWRP backup restoration didn't touch the CSC is that it has it's own partition, which one normally does not backup.
You could flash an entirely unbranded marshmallow rom of your choice, and flash the BTU CSC of lollipop, it should still theoretically work.

Change Galaxy S8 CSC using combination file, please help.

Hello everyone.
Recently i tried to change CSC in my Galaxy S8 exynos which came orginally from EE so csc is EVR. I found combination file for my bootloader. File name COMBINATION_FA70_G950FXXU4ARI1_CL12792727_QB19841686_REV00_user_mid_noship.tar.md5
My botloader is unfortunately U4. This file is based on Nougat but there is no Nougat rom suitable for U4 bootloader. I tried with OREO rom but after flashing home CSC from OREO together with combination file it stops on the screen Installation failed. When i boot factory binary and enter code for CSC change it does not show any CSC to select.
Can someone please explain what i am doing wrong? Also i flashed H3G rom (PIE) and then BTU rom (PIE) and now when i go to samsung Phone infor it says Product code H3G, in bootloader it is stil EVR....
Sorry for chaotic post but my english is not perfect.
Any help will be appreciated. I was searching for some tutorial how to do it properly but none of them says what rom should be used with combination file.

Hi mate, when flashing CSC to change it don't use home_csc. You must use the CSC file and once you have flashed it you need to do a factory reset to set the new CSC. You don't need a combination file to change CSC either, just flash the firmware you want, with CSC file. Not home_csc.

Failed official firmware install (SM-T580)

My device got FRP locked and so I used Odin to flash the official firmware from Sammobile and now I have T mobile menus like personal hotspot in my settings apps even though my device is the Wi-Fi only tab A 2016.
Here's how I got here:
I flashed the correct firmware, and in Odin I flashed the ap file, that's all. It succeeded but when installing updates, it said no command and went to the stock recovery. I factory wiped and rebooted.
How do I get rid of the T mobile menu's?
Any help would be appreciated
