I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A with S Pen. It had more than 80% battery in the morning but I tried starting it now and it seemed to be out of battery. So, I put it on recharge and started the Tab. Initially it showed the Android man and something like "installing updates" and then it showed a series is statements like "E:failed to start/dev/block/platform...." The Tab went into a loop between these two screens.
I then disconnected the charging. After I attached the charger again, the tab is stuck in the opening screen (Saying Samsung Galaxy Tab A with S Pen" and "Powered By android". Also the screen is flickering? What went wrong?

Seems like a hardware fault. Best bet is to reflash the stock firmware and factory reset if you have too.
If it doesn't boot after a short while it's probably faulty.

I did not find anyone with exactly the same symptoms. So I started a new thread.
My wife's stock unrooted S4 GT-i9505 with 5.0.1 android does not start anymore. No custom roms or odin tricks were ever done to the phone. Phone does not get past the first Samsung GT-I9505 text. It does not load the graphical Samsung boot animation. Recovery is not accessible. Only once I have gotten to see a glimpse of recovery screen, but then display got striped and phone froze.
I can get to bootloader and I tried to use Odin to load stock 5.0.1 rom. I loaded rom with default values, odin passes and then phone reboots. Again phone gets stuck on the Samsung GT-I9505 text display.
24month warranty has already expired, so when i remembered, that phone has had issues with power button previously, I ordered new and changed it. No changes to situation.
Another strange thing is, that if I do not start the phone, but just plug usb in, the charging symbol is static grey. I read in one thread, that maybe USB port was faulty interfering the charging and resulting to always empty looking static grey battery. However, the port actually charges the battery. I put the battery to external charger and charger reported that battery was full. I ordered new port. It has not yet arrived. Relatives have S4's so having a spare won't do any harm if the port swap does not help here.
My wife said that phone was very laggy just before it died. When I think the artifacts I see on screen sometimes and then
the fact that bootloader display displays without artifacts just fine, my thoughts start to concentrate to display chip. None of the screens that now work and show have any 3D or animations on them. Charging screen has animation, but phone becomes unresponsive as soon as that screen shows. Recovery screen has animated android figure when it loads and I have once seen a glimpse of that figure before display corrupted. Display also has once corrupted (noise/lines) with the battery recharging screen. The screen that comes after Samsung... text has animation and phone freezes just before that.
Any thoughts? Has anyone had exactly the same symptoms?
Well, yeah, it sounds like a hardware problem. Most probably the motherboard will have to be replaced. If you think it's worth it.
So, I have a Samsung SM-T230NU. When I tried to power it on, it flashed for a split second the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 logo and then went blank. I figured it was out of juice, so I plugged it in and let it charge for an hour or so.
When I came back, it was flashing and going dark.
I tried a different cable. As soon as power was applied, it flashed and went dark again.
Now, the boot logo is showing for an even briefer amount of time.
I am suspecting the battery or USB port. I don't have parts readily available to swap, however.
It may be worth adding, when I plug in the device, without touching any buttons, the screen starts flashing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 boot logo. I would guess a stuck power button, but the power button travels freely. When I unplug the tablet from the computer, the flashing stops.
Trying to boot it with power + volume up garners no response from the device.
Any ideas?
Having same issue here
Tried hard reset, no dice.
Tried opening the back to see if I can identify some loose connection, didn't see anything funny. I am not an electrician.
My sister's having the same issue with her T230NU. It still boots (it'll boot to the Samsung splash, but then it flashes off the screen in half a second; this repeats every 7 seconds), but only if it's plugged directly to the wall charger. She let it sit overnight to charge, and it's still got this issue. I'm pretty sure her battery was drained when the issue started occurring last night, but it doesn't look like the battery has charged much (if at all) since then.
Yestarday my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 stopped charging and when the battery was drained i was not able to switch it on.
while trying to charge, first it would vibrate in very short intervals (twice in a sec) and later it started showing logo but would again shut down.
Somehow on reaching recovery mode i formatted my tab and rebooted it.
Now while opening for the first time after rebooting it shows that it is being charged but as soon as complete all the startup process it would again stop charging.
(plus i also sometimes get a faint line on display running horizontally at the center of my display. It faints further on use.)
Any solution please. Thank You
Hello,
I couldn't find similar thread (or maybe just missed it) so I decided to create a new one.
Currently I'm using a battery that I have bought on AliExpress and it's swollen badly, probably because I have left the phone completely discharged for a year when I shattered the screen. I've bought another one from AliExpress and it looks just like the original one, has Samsung and EB-L1G6LLU written on it. However, when I put it inside a phone and try to turn it on "Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo" screen flashes for a split second and shuts down. When I have my phone connected to a wall charger, everything works fine, but the second I disconnect it, it shuts down immediately. I checked the voltage on both batteries, the one that was working fine(although swollen) reads 4,02 V and the one that doesn't has 4,03 V. I'm using stock Samsung OS on this phone. What could be wrong?
I took apart the galaxy tab 8.4 to put in a new battery.
Now when I plug it in, it says empty, and then it says 100%.
No inbetween. Also it does not boot up or turn on. It is stuck on the battery screen.
If I remove the battery completely and plug it into USB it gives the same message of 0% and 100%.
What to do?
Where did you get the battery? I would ask for a replacement or a refund. I got mine from Amazon and didn't have this problem (I wish we could just order originals from Samsung BTW).
