if u have any heating issue with oreo updatr then u need to flash cp file from nougat which is the modem file understand..problem will be solved! asap

Could you please provide step by step instruction with some links to the files in order to perform the flash? It is a mass issue for all that have updated to Oreo so I'm sure it will be a popular tread if you do that. Thank you.

The CP that OP has linked is for a G930F (S7 Flat), it may be the cause for Odin to fail.
Btw, another thread is somewhere who said to flash CP AND CSC for pretty much the same thing, but it doesn't seem to do anything useful.
Could you provide more info OP?

works without root as well?
hi, i wonder if i can apply this fix if unrooted.
thanks

My device is not a S7 Edge, but a Note FE. I tried the same thing, but however after flashing the Nougat modem. Baseband version showed as "unknown". Did i miss out anything?

The download link provided is not working. "File Not Found"
BTW this patch is also for snapdragon version?
Mine is a snapdragon and may be because of that Odin flashing was unsuccessful.

Not sure if Odin works for Exynos only device, I later found out that the reason why my baseband showed unknown because I only flashed that without the CSC

Impossible to get out of BOOTLOOP: soft-bricked

Hi community!
First time posting.
So, my SM-G900I (shipped from Taiwan to Aus) recently started bootlooping so i decided to reflash a stock rom. I initially flashed an XSU version of the G900I stock and then a BRI version of stock. This didnt remove the bootloop. I then installed TWRP and cleared all the necessary caches, formatted data and everything else. still in bootloop.
I installed CM13 in TWRP install menu and it still didnt boot. I've also tried pulling the battery for extended periods of time. I dabbled in terminal commands but it was all a bit above me!
is there anything else i can do or is the phone dead? it can still enter download mode and TWRP. is this a battery problem? in TWRP the battery says it's 80% charged so it seems to hold charge.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers.
Did you try flashing the stock rom and PIT file with ODIN?

I did. 16GB G900I pit file was flashed alongside BL, AP, CP, and CSC files (got directly from Kies).
I am able to install a custom recovery and access those menus but i can't get in to the stock recovery menu.

Download update to samfirmwar it is 1 package file home tar md5 put on PDA and flash make sure download correct firmware of your country region
best way : download samsung kies, go to download mode on your phone, connect it to pc, open samsung kies, go to tools->firmware update settings, this will update your phone to latest firmware fixing any software related problem. after that you can root and flash any custom rom.

Update modem firmware from other region or wait for own region?

Hey guys,
So I just updated my S7 Edge with the German Firmware (latest goodness, April, 2) using FlashFire (Amazing new app from truly yours, Chainfire) But I kept the modem firmware to my native Australian firmware,
Should I update my modem firmware to the more latest German firmware? or wait for Australia to catch up with the modem firmware?
Try this rom mate I have been using it for days and is the best rom so fast and stable

Sorry this is the rom for your s7 edge it's awesome
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-s7-edge-rom-v1-1-t3356699
I wouldn't recommend using a modem from another region at this point. The reason being is it could screw with the efs (mine got wiped when flashing Echoe Rom v5. Which converted it to a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge tablet.) it's safer to use your region specific modem. Although it's generally considered safe assuming you have the right model number, make sure you backup efs first.

Yes I've heard Echoe rom has caused a few problems for a lot of people I'd stay away from Echoe rom.. the best rom without any problems and best features is the rom below
S7 rom 1.2.5

S7 Edge rom 1.2.5

I updated my modem firmware from Australia one to the German one, no difference or even improved.
Which file do you flash for Modem?
I downloaded the most recent tar from Sammobile for my G935F - and I know I could use odin to flash the four files and update the entire phone - can use Odin to flash the Modem BIN file or do I need to flash the entire "CP" File to flash the updated modem?

No guarantees it will flash properly. It depends on the size of the hidden partition. I would wait for a debranded firmware like BTU or XEU.

just to be clear..
First download the ZIP file from google drive, then once download extract the file which gives us individual zip files and then extract each one of those until we get the .md5 files correct ?
EDIT: did that and started to apply all files to ODIN now. hopefully everything flashes correctly.

Follow my above quoted post and then odin will recognize the files since after you extract the downloaded files each individual file is still a .rar file (zip). After you extract them you will find the .md5 file which odin recognizes.

@norbarb I flashed this through odin and the phone is still stuck on Verizon. I have Verizon boot up and Verizon apps etc..
Funny thing is now I have a "AT&T Smart Wi-Fi app".
Baseband shows AQG1
Build number shows AQG1
Android security patch level July 1, 2017
I guess I will have to be stuck on the Verizon stuff..
Thanks though for trying though in helping making this phone from Verizon to AT&T.

Wouldn't you have to flash "Home CSC" first if coming from a different service provider in order to force a change? Also what update does their phone have, you can't down grade?

I believe i tried HOme_CSC file already as well. I will double check but I believe i tried it on the previous firmware version

@norbarb . I load all the files on odin and then hit start. I am not changing any settings in ODIN
Yes but what is the last 3 letters of your build (firmware) on the phone. It will need to match or be a earlier build otherwise the boot-loader will not allow it to load.

It will. You can load any earlier firmware. Bootloader is not change yet. On all G955U is version 1. So you can even flash C9 firmware and phone will allowed.
G955USQS1AQG1 in Samsung firmware bootloader is fifth number from end.

Maybe try the C-9 first then upgrade higher.

If i already have the latest version of firmware will the phone accept an older version (downgrade) ?
edit : found C9... I am going to try C9 firmware this weekend hopefully that helps.
Right now i cant figure out how to make my MMS to work .
update: I tried C9
1st: i tried the Home CSC file and ODIN stated it pass but the phone said otherwise. I failed to boot up at first then it said error in recovery
Then it booted up but kept giving all types of FC's. Mean while the verizon bootup and apps where still there.
2nd: I tried CSC file and everything booted and is working fine. Data works and my download speed is so so but my upload speeds is double the speed of download. LOL
MMS works. Still have all the Verizon crap. phone somehow seems snappier than on AQG1 firmware.
Im debating on just installing original verizon firmware or keeping this version of the AT&T firmware. If it works then why try to fix it.
thanks for the help either way.
Do it again but this time flash the "Home CSC" first and then all the others including regular CSC files. Flash right on top of what you have now.
You mean flash all files again but home CSC first then reflash again and use regular CSC file ?
Also you are saying reflash the C9 firmware right ?
