Hello,
I saw this option under GPS options : activate Qualcomm iZat to improve GPS perf and preserve battery.
Did anyone really test it ?
Thanks
I use this. Couldn't tell you if it works or not.

Opinions are divided. Some say that enabling battery-saving GPS profile and iZat helps saving the battery without losing the accuracy, some say that disabling this may result in better battery life... Personally, I've never really tested that and I always had full GPS enabled (hardware and network) and iZat turned on... but you motivated me to do some tests as I suffer from not very good battery life on Oreo right now :fingers-crossed:
i can tell you by experience with LG devices with Qualcomm iZat "gimmicky" thing is really just that; gimmick.
activate them or disable them dont improve nothing, they can improve the battery if enable but it will be a low very low %, you will save 4/5% of battery...but accuracy wise it will be worse.
so my recomendation is disable this option because they dont really heps, is only to mess up with people brain.

Hi guys,
If I remember correctly, in the previous WM versions there were options to change the speed of the CPU and that way to save the power and reduce battery consumption?
I am preparing for long, few days GPS assisted hikings and would like to minize the power comsuption of my HTC HD2.
Maybe there good apps for that too?
Thanks.
It already does that automatically.
Consumption of a GPS app like GPS Tuner with screen off is already very low, giving about 8hrs battery life (if you don't do anything else, of course).
At the moment, I'm on a quest to extend X2's battery life to the max.
I've disabled slideview, enabled power management options in advanced config, backlight, HSDPA off, GSM mode.
Last, but not least, I am wondering if there is a possible way to disable accelerometer?
I'm 99% sure it's automatically disabled when the device is suspended
accessing the ServiceMenu.exe aka the 'secret menu' (can't link as I'm a newb) you seemingly can disable/stop it. Not sure how much longer the battery life is extended...
u can disable it there but it doesnt save the setting
Hey there from France,
I have a quick question for you all S edge+ owners.
Very happy with it, but I'd like to tweak some battery saving features. In that respect, what does the regular (not "Ultra") Battery Saving mode exactly do once tunred on?
There is a brief description of course, but I was wondering if it does such stuff as "limit background data", or resorts to location pinging less often, other than the basic "reduce CPU".
Thanks in advance !
well
When i turn on the battery saver, my phone has some lag issues and the brightness turn into lowest, but it seems that the battery is not improve.
If so, have you noticed any decrease in battery life? Saw a couple of articles highlighting this feature back in May, but there hasn't been any follow up to the feature's effect on battery life. Thanks in advance.
I have it enabled and can't say that I see any remarkable decrease in battery at all. I'm not really sure of the benefit if any either though.

Supposedly, the phone doesn't have to re-establish a cellular data connection, so you're less likely to have hangups when switching from wifi to cellular. I also have "aggressive wi-fi to cellular handover" enabled so the phone doesn't hold onto my wi-fi connection when it gets weak.
Did anyone test the battery life ? how is the battery life once you enable this option?
It seems like my phone is having a problem going to sleep. For example my S7E has been staying awake for 7h19' out of 9h26m on battery. Can someone please look at my screenshot and tell me which of those might be causing this problem? I use and s7e and an iphone 6+ at the same time and my s7e's battery life is much worse compared to the iPhone. Please help.
You need to use Wakelock Detector., That screen shot tells us nothing
@Galactus does it require root? Cause I don't want to loose my warranty.
Use gsam for battery monitor , is it exynos or snapdragon aod on? Also there are other threads stating the same, go read first.
I found the problem. It was the bluetooth and wifi scanning to improve location accuracy. Turned those of and nowmy s7e's battery life is even better than the 6+'s. Cheers!
]Just found it in Location setting.
Hope that can fix this problem.
