[howto] Fix Open Beta 10 bootloader warning - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Before anyone gets ban hammer/delete crazy this is simply a method I figured out to return the boot warning to the old way instead of the new (old?) Stock OEM warning.
You need two files, one the 4.5.2 firmware located here:
https://jamal2367.com/downloads/?dir=Firmware + Modem/OnePlus 5/Android 7.1.1/OxygenOS
The second file you need is the firmware of whatever version you want below OB10 (I recommend 5.1.1):
https://jamal2367.com/downloads/?dir=Firmware + Modem/OnePlus 5/Android 8.1.0/OxygenOS
Flash the 4.5.2 via twrp
Decrypted:
Reboot to recovery *do not boot to system*
Encrypted:
Sideload flash the radio via adb
All'
flash the 5.1.1 via twrp
Congrats, your have the original and slightly less useless and equally eye sore, warning back.
Additionally, a post was made later in this thread with a flashable zip for the different bootloaders, quoted below:
QUOTE=shadowstep;76659022]I've made the following flashable zips, in case any one needs:
Old Bootloader Unlocked Warning: Flashable Zip
New Bootloader Unlocked Warning: Flashable Zip
Have fun! [/QUOTE]

Work fine. Thanks.

What is the problem? Just stay ON/OFF + VOL - buttons when you starting device and you will boot on TWRP

If between flashing first and second archive you reboot, encrypted all data and lose it.

Why root? The phone works fine without it. Why use a custom rom? Stock roms work, therr is no problem.
If you're on XDA asking why people want to do something,. You don't get why people come here. We want the ability to customize or devices to our liking, not to appease you. Please stop posting crap like this, it adds ZERO value to posts.

You don't lose data, just decryption. Have to flash second firmware from adb sideload and works fine.

The recovery you provided works just fine! There was no issue booting up the phone, i havn't tried to flash a zip file with it yet, but i think it will work.
Other options like terminal and adb open up correctly on the local machine, and there is no reason for them to give issues when actually used for side loading and command input.
I have a recovery.log file if needed.
Thanks a lot, that was the first recovery for Galaxy A8 Sm-A800i.
I request @cheupe to move the post to the top and change the status to solved. All credits to @ashyx for successfully compiling the recovery.
Note - Flashing this recovery, or anything other than stock, might make your wifi to stop remembering passwords on reboot. (Only if you have flashed a custom boot.img /kernel). Flashing only the recovery without other modifications should theoretically not cause the issue.
Solution-
Open up system/build.prop, find "ro.securestorage.support=true" and change the "true" to "false" and reboot. Enter your wifi passwords once again and it should be permanant even after reboot.

Thanks for the feedback, glad it works. Now you guys have the door open for custom roms and root. I will officially release this to XDA if you are happy everything is working.
Regarding your note on the wifi, Recovery shouldn't affect the wifi. Custom kernels that dont have the "ro.securestorage.support=false" set usually have this issue. However that can be fixed.
Did you have an issue with wifi as that is a new one on me with custom recovery?

The wifi problem occurs everytime i flash something that is not stock. Flashing a custom boot.img for root caused the issue. It was fixed with tweaking the build.prop.
Now everytime i flash anything, be it boot or recovery via odin, i have to tweak the build file. The only exception to this is flashing the stock firmwhere.

Well as the issue was probably caused by the modified boot.img, its gonna occur only for those who have rooted their phones using that particular method. I am pretty sure flashing just the recovery you provided will not cause the issue. The note was for who are here after rooting. I still dont get it why the build file changes when i flashed the recovery, even though i had tweaked it and not touched the kernel after that. I dont understand the reason for it to change back to true after flashing something such as a recovery.

What did you flash?
You can recover by flashing stock firmware.
NOTE: One of the main reasons for flashing custom recovery is to make a full backup of your device.
ALWAYS ensure this is done BEFORE flashing custom stuff.

Root files for t-mobile s7

*Edited. I uploaded which factory firmware worked for me on a t-mobile s7 as of 10/30/2016 to dropbox if anyone needs it.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bjz0du5b6kyt3g7/AADETkXwGhpRMSQoI2bmrupBa?dl=0
These are what worked for me. Included is a link to the factory firmware if you screw something up.
Turn on developer options/Usb debugging. After installing your Samsung USB drivers http://stockroms.net/file/Drivers/Samsung/SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe , plug it in. Click allow on your phone.
Put it in download mode. Open odin, click AP and choose the .tar file. Click start.
After reboot unlock the phone and open fastboot folder. Double click root.
After reboot, transfer busybox.apk or download busybox. When setting up busybox, make sure to install it to /system/xbin. Not /su/xbin.
Something goes wrong, use the same odin to flash the firmware you download from the included link. I would have included the files but their 2.1 gb.
Again, this is just what worked for me.
What follows rooting is your choice.
this kind of rooting method cause lag on the phone?? because i rooted a g935t time ago and it was impossible to use because the constant lags in the interface

After you root it it automatically sets your governor as performance. It needs to be made interactive before you do anything.
This is what I did to fix the lag.

Yes sir.
If you want you can follow this steps for a completely free lag phone.
1. After flashing the eng kernel, go to PlayStore and Download Kernel Adiutor and set Gov to Interactive on both the Big and Little.
2. Download Flashfire and flash Echoed Rom.
I'm using this on my T-Mobile Vatiant.

it was because the phone updated to the pki or whatever released on 11/5/2016. I used all your files in odin at once to downgrade, then was able to proceed perfectly. thanks again
Thanks for the files. It's a shame though this device has been secured as much as it has with little development. I've always had phones with full root, customization, and control. With the root methods so far, I mean it works but there's just too many cons and I've tried everything to get performance back post root. Went back to stock in the mean time.
Is this the best and only way to Root the Tmobile variant of the S7?

What exactly is "fastboot"? I understand the process up to that point, but after that I'm at a loss.

*Edited. I uploaded which factory firmware worked for me on a t-mobile s7 as of 10/30/2016 to dropbox if anyone needs it.
These are what worked for me. Included is a link to the factory firmware if you screw something up.
Turn on developer options/Usb debugging. After installing your Samsung USB drivers , plug it in.

Is there any chance of getting cm14 with this??
As with one of the posts made over at leeco.re the forum post link is broken, you can't always grab a link as part of a larger text selection, you need to right click on the link and select to copy the link.
Also, it would be nice to have an actual kernel to download for those who don't have a suitable build environment, nothing I have found with your info points to or provides a downloadable kernel which suggests that as of now it is vapour-ware.

Hey, Thanks for replying! I can provide u the zImage only as I am not yet able to flash just the kernel zImage directly from zip via recovery so i simply create a new boot.img and flash tht! If u want then I can simply provide you with zImage also! I will post the link here soon!
Thanks

Here you go! the zImage compiled one!
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ztq414yjkq2hmo0/Psycho-Kernel.img-zImage?dl=0
For people who dont know whats zImage or what is the difference between zImage and Boot.img
Please please dont flash it directly via recovery as img file u will surely mess your boot partition and i wont be held responsible for tht!
Rest all if u put it in ur boot img or flash via any kernel flasher or whatever app u can then it will 100% work with no problems!!!
Thanks, I'll just have to dust the cobwebs off the brain cells I'll need to use to get this on the phone
Please develope a good cm 14.1 rom anyone here

I don't even own the device he did renamed the file with root explorer and flashed as a kernel lol. But i tried flashing whole firmware through sp flashtool but the device wasn't booting. Got it working by completely formatting through flashoot (even the bootloader). It did wiped his imeis too lol. but got them fixed with engineering mode. so chill everything is under control. Hope you build a great kernel for that device.

Ok don't worry help is here,
1) Get your firmware. It will contain rom, flashtool, drivers. Install drivers first, install minimal adb and fast boot drivers too.
2) Open flashtool got to advanced format options it's on the other tab. Select complete wipe include bootloader.
3) Flash the rom, it'll have a txt page with instruction about it or Google it if you still have problems ask me.
4) wait till the process ends and your phone will be back.
5) You will have no imei(s) in your device and it won't recognize sim card. Get toolhero app it will set you imei(s) and for God's sake write them somewhere you can reach anytime cause they will disappear everytime you factory reset/wipe/change roms/ and it's a stupid thing that toolhero requires Internet to set the imei(s) so keep a Hotspot or WiFi near while next time you experiment with your device. Hope this helps.

Found L14 Honor 8 B320 Update... What do I do now?

So, I found the OTA update packages for the FRD-L14 to B320 (and B317)
I really wanted to update... but I'm not sure how.
I'm rooted, with TWRP and SuperSU installed, and it all works ok.
I didn't want to do any hard methods, scared of bricking it. Updating the OTA over SD card isn't working (can't even find the setting)
So what to do?
They are only OTA updates, not Full, so I can't just use dload method to load them up.
I would prefer to keep root, but if I have to reflash to stock, and then re-root, I can do that.
Any other methods I can use? Can anyone with a bit more knowledge help me out?
And of course, more than happy to share the OTA files, one is approximately 3gb (B317) and the other is about 300mb (B320)
Thanks
Unroot phone and flash stock recovery
Will that work? I tried doing that but the updater didn't find the update in the SD card. It told me there were no updates available.

you need to make sure the zip file you get are the right one.
since your have TWRP, just flash the update.zip and the update_hw_usa.zip Link without reboot in between.
i updated to 5.0 (320) on my L14, i don't suggest you to upgrade if you need Bluetooth. Everything works fine except Bluetooth. And if you need tutorials and all roms, just reply me i will send to you.

You need two roms:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...68/f1/full/hw/usa/update_data_full_hw_usa.zip
AND
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1278/g104/v68368/f1/full/update.zip
Steps:
1. unlock, rooted and twrp
2. then twrp, install the usa.zip, dont reboot
3. flash update.zip (if some errs shows , just miss them.)
Also don't wipe data & cache
4. reboot, if you cannot show correct build num in 'About'
, just use the *#*#2846579#*#*, and use software upgrade to flash update.app from both usa.zip and update.zip.
5. Everything will woke

Successfull roll-back from oreo Beta back to Nouget

After using the manual Oreo update 2 weeks, Flashing several treble roms. Most with little to no trouble. I ended up with no more 4g or LTE signals on my L24 USA model Honor 7X.
So I took the plunge and tried to roll-back from beta oreo back to EMUI 5.
It worked. It took only few minutes to complete. I wrote down the steps, it was 22 steps.
If you do attempt this too, be advised I do not know what possible things could go wrong, and you do so at your own risk.
I will likely refine the document if after reading it many times I find it too confusing.
You will need backed up images of your original firmware. AND the original /data/hw_init folder
If / when huawei finally release a "full-ota" for your device/ region . this will not be needed, but until then here is a method to return.

I bet many users will follow this tutorial in the next days....
I was worried cause of the partition changes on Oreo that the downgrade would be very trick... But you got'it right
Still, wont work for me... (Stuck on FRP)
On About the Phone, is the model correct? Isn't it BND-AL10? (Since you used that model's image)
Great work.
Any tips for me:
- Boot phone
Using the SD card, is there any trick to prevent the phone to reboot? Any app? Any other trick?
- UPDATE.APP
All the files that i tried, NON make it passed the 5%...
This is the only way in that i have to the device...
-Relock Bootloader (?)
Just can't do it via Fastboot... Is there any other way?
Keep the good work

No, it is based on using a modified stock-ish recovery, which needs unlocked bootloader to flash.
And besides, this was a hackish method to get me by before there was a full OTA file for roll back.
I think your best bet on locked bootloader will be the host file mod and python server method hackintosh has talked about. He calls it erecovery. And it is intended to be done with the stock erecovery.

Hey I've posted a few posts around on one of these I got the SE on the latest firmware. I'd there a way to downgrade to earlier Oreo or nougat service rom without bootloader unlock. I bought the credits then found I was to high of firm Ware. I can't find straight answers any where I've spent all day downloading, and trying to update, flash whatever I can all ending in error. All bnd l34 I've got 344 it's files which fail at 5% I've never used one of the fancy heuweis before. Used to lg and Samsung. I'm no noob on flashing . Hisuite does not show rollback options... Like I said just can't find any straight answers. I'm stuck with this one either way but root would be nice
