Joying UL128N2 - MODE/SRC button, contact sharing - Android Head-Units

Hello everyone, I have bought Joying UL128N2 for my Civic 2010 VIII and im pretty happy with it.
But, I assigned MODE button on wheel to SRC function, it cycle through stock apps like radio / video player / music player .... Is there any way how to choose which apps will be assigned to?
Also, when I pair my phone (oneplus 3) with radio It will not sync my contacts (i have stored them on google account), when i press that "download contact" button nothing happend.

No, you can't change the sequence or apps that you cycle through.
Do not sync your phone contacts to your unit. You might discover that the dialer app has a big bug which will remove all your contacts from your phone, which on its turn will sync that to Google, thereby removing all your contacts.
Simply pair your phone without giving access to your contacts.
In settings for your account on your unit, make a direct sync from your google contacts to your head unit. In that case you can also use the contacts, bypassing the bluetooth dialer app.

How to bluetooth contacts?

Is it possible to bluetooth contacts from a Wizard to another phone?
T'other half has a Nok6670 which has Bluetooth but no Infrared, I need to copy a load of contacts from my Wizard.
...with pocket informant you can select all contacts and 'beam' them (as vcards). Automatically the transmit devices IR and BT will appear and you can transfer them to the other one who can receive them with 'receive beam'...
Without PI you can sent contacts by BT, as vcards directly out of the contactslist, but only one at a time; it would take you ages if you've got a big list...

I'm going to d/l PI anyway as it looks pretty interesting aside from this functionality. But I'm confused about what you've written above...if I try and send a vCard it just creates an MMS ??
PI doesn't appear to be able to BT contacts either.
I'm GUESSING its a feature of the ROM? I'm due to upgrade sometime next week anyhow.
Might persevere with PI though, looks good, except some poor design on the icons, its not always obvious what pressing something is going to do.
...without PI when i tap&hold a contact and choose 'send as vcard' it copies it to \temp]vcard.vcf . Then i have to rename them into the desired contactname (otherwise it will just overwrite the old vcard.vcf) before i can BT them one by one...
I guess i don't get a mms posibility because i didn't installed t-mobile stuff after hard reset.
BTW I use PocketInformant2007

you can do it, just follow these steps:
one time work
use your favorite regedit, go to
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Obex
change DWORD value of "Isabled" from 0 to 1, save changes
reset or full off
you need to make target device is discoverable
then go to contacts, highlight several items (5 at a time), tap and hold->beam contacts
once you found nokia 6670->tap to send
you can also transfer the contacts through nokia pcsuite from outlook (if the contacts are the same) through USB cable or bt from host

Contacts : Firstname/Surname order

Hi all,
I do not think this is directly related to Windows/the phone or the combination but more to do with the target.
I have my contacts quite well sorted in Outlook or so I think.
The first names are in the firstname box and the surnnames/secondnames are in the correct box for that.
I beamed all the contacts over to my car sat nav system which has a bluetooth phone too (thanks to someone on here who added the select all feature - I wish I could remember his name!)
The problem is that the names on the system are secondname/firstname rather than firstname/secondname.
Firstly, is this a phone/OS issue or is this more to be the sat nav system?
When I try a Nokia 8800, it beams it over correctly which makes me think its the phone and/or the compatibility.
Does the OS store it as sn/fn but display it fn/sn by any chance?
Thanks!

Mike
Thanks Mike, I've already seen this thread.
I don't think this is what I'm after though.
My Outlook has the contacts in the correct way... the fields are filled in and the "display as" is displayed always as firstname/secondname
My phone also has firstname/second name format exactly replicating Outlook.
the Issue is after beaming the contact from the phone to my navigation unit, the navigation unit interprets the name as secondname/firstname.
The question was that was this issue caused by the phone beaming it over wrongly, or the navigation unit not being able to see the data correctly
I think (I'm not an Outlook expert) that Outlook stores in whatever format it likes, most likely Surname Forename. Display as is a custom field generated for whatever - you could write anything in there.
However, when beaming, it's likely Outlook uses the substantive data, the proper Surname and Forename, and sends them in its default order.
V
I think you agree with my thought then in some way
That outlook views it in one way (whether its fn/sn or sn/fn I dont know)... once synced with the phone, the phone views it in the Display field way of Outlook but infact is stored in another way and THAT is the way it gets beamed over.
I think I'll do some changing about in contacts to see if anything works

A little tip/trick, and a non related question

First post for me on the forums
First the question -
I have added all my facebook contacts and gmail contacts into the phone, and also imported all the contacts from my SIM; then I started 'joining' contacts of the same people into one (very neat convergence feature);
But now I have a small problem - when I open the messaging app to send some SMS or MMS or whatnot, I start writing a name of someone that I want to send to, but the smart lookup that opens only shows me people from my facebook and not from my SIM (most of my real contacts are in my SIM).
Any idea how to fix this so it will quick search my SIM contacts as well?
Also, how do I send a message to more then one contact?
And now for the little trick (probably known to everybody already, but I just found out) -
If you want to voice input after the keyboard pops up (anywhere on the phone) - and you want an easier way instead of pressing the little microphone key on the keyboard (useful when driving for example) - you can simply swipe your finger from left to right on the keyboard, and the voice recognition will instantly start.
Your best bet, since it doesn't actually merge your contacts, just shows them in a merged format, is to configure all of your contacts under your gmail account. What I like to do then is to sync only the contacts that I have there with friends on facebook (this will grab all the pictures, though I actually set mine in my gmail), instead of syncing all facebook friends (because lets face it, I'm not really going to call "Joey Thompson" from HS and have a chat). You can leave you contacts on your sim for if/when you ever move back to a phone that doesn't sync to gmail, just don't load them.
This setup is especially useful if you wipe/flash your phone regularly as all your contacts are there pretty quickly and you don't have to do anything.
As for your tip, I found this out by the tool tip under the keyboard options, but sadly, I can't disable the voice (removing the icon) and still use this trick to access voice input when I want it. I'd much rather have the ',' than a voice icon when I can swipe to access it.
Funny thing is that if you choose to only sync with FB on the contacts you already have on your phone it wont let you save other friends from facebook as contacts (which you can do by clicking on their pics in the search friends screen). So then you have to go add them as contacts manually and let the fb embed do its thang. zzzz.

[Q] People/Contacts app sync & bluetooth problem

Hi,
I exetensively searched XDA and google for a solution to this, but while finding solutions to problems which are close to my problem, I couldn't find quite what I'm looking for, so be aware at first this might seem like a question that has already been asked, but please keep reading since this is really something different.
I have the following problem with my Desire Z which I have for 2 days now:
In my Gmail account (which is in fact a hosted apps account), I have like probably most of you a "All Contacts" group and a "My Contacts" group.
I use the My Contacts group for all my contacts which I maintain with correct information like name, last name, phone, etc. The "All Contacts" group is auto-updated by Gmail and contains each and every contact that I have ever sent or received an email from/to.
The difference is that my "All Contacts" contains 497 records, while my "My Contacts" group only contains 127 record, suffice it to say I don't want the "All Contacts" group anywhere near/on my phone.
Off course I've found out by now that using the menu button in the 'People' app and going to 'View' brings up a window where I can nicely select which groups I want to see and which ones I don't.
The problem, however, is that this setting only affects what is being shown, and even when turning off "(Ungrouped Contacts)", while effectively hiding these contacts, they are still in the phone, and worst of all : still synced to my Bluetooth carkit.
This causes huge problems with my carkit, probably because either there are weird characters in one or more of the records, or because there are just too many of them.
This is off course not just a wild guess, but a conclusion I have drawn after performing some tests:
I tested this with 2 carkits : My own Dodge Ram 2009 MyGig system, and my dad's Audi S5 Audi MMI (Multimedia Interface) system.
Tests were performed with 4 phones:
- Tmobile G1/HTC Dream running CM6.1 (stock android contacts.apk)
- Moto Milestone running CM6.1 (stock android contacts.apk)
- Samsung Galaxy S I9000 running stock ROM (TouchWiz contacts.apk)
- HTC Desire Z running stock ROM (HTC Sense contacts.apk)
For all 4 phones I connected them to the 2 carkits and enabled logcat while doing this. The logcat log effectively showed me that the CM6.1 phones were only syncing the 'right' contacts, while the 2 other phones (both using non-stock contacts.apk) were sending all the other **** to the carkit as well.
These tests lead me to conclude that apparently it's very hard to make a decent custom contacts.apk, because 2 independant manufacturers both screwed it up at the same point.
From where I stand I can see 3 possible solutions/workarounds to get this working correctly on my Dezire Z:
- Replace contacts.apk with stock one
- Flash CM6.1 on there
- Clean up 'all contacts' group in gmail account.
Normally I wouldn't hesitate to just fire up CM6.1 on there, but I really like the HTC sense web controll thingy, so I want to stick with the stock ROM for a while, or until Cyanogen comes with a ROM that includes this. (not yet AFAIK)
Cleaning up 497 contacts is really something I want to keep as a last resort.
So the only remaining option is to put a stock contacts.apk on there.
Can this be done, and if so, how?
Or are there possibly other ways around this which I'm failing to see?
I think this thread will soon get moved to the General forum, since it's not ROM development
I've got a very similar problem with the one you describe above. I found a load of garbage being sync'd via Bluetooth to my car stereo too. As well as my regular contacts, there were a massive load of blank ones (which I've now discovered were hiding in my "Other Contacts" section in Gmail, and got sync'd to my phone, and hence sync'd also to my car stereo).
I also found it sync'd all my Facebook contacts via Bluetooth, which isn't what I wanted at all. I ended up deleting all those manually on the car
Thanks for the reply Stevewevie, good to know I'm not the only one with this problem.
Some car kits seem to be able to cope with this better than others.
For example my dad's Audi MMI will not work at all with my Desire Z, while my Dodge's MyGig will connect, but sometimes break up during a call, not syncing contacts, and other weird stuff.
What I was going to look into was a solution that might work for you too, i.e. a way to send via Bluetooth a group of contacts. I can't yet find any way to do this in the stock ROM though, and I haven't searched to see if there are other Android utilities that could do this.
I've got around my problem for now, but if I lose the address book in my car stereo I'll be faced with the same problem again. Or if I need to do a big update.

The Dodge MyGig syncs everytime my phone connects, and sometimes it seems to workout while other times it doesn't work.
So for me it's a gamble everytime I start my car.

[Q] Phonebook no longer works in the car

I have an HD2 and an Audi A4 (2007).
I connect the phone via bluetooth and it has been working well for the last year.
My office has just put email onto Exchange so I set this up on the phone to get my emails but now the phonebook doesn't work in the car - it connects fine but comes up no entries.
I'm wondering if it is due to outlook requiring me to have a keypad lock (which is also annoying)?
Any ideas as it is useful to have my email but not if it messes up everything else.
It sounds as though when they set up Exchange settings that they synced the e-mail, calendar and CONTACTS. So the contacts may have e-mail addresses but no phone numbers and any existing contacts were deleted.
The contacts in your computer's email program should now be the same as on your phone. Just add the missing contacts and any conacts without phone numbers.
Thanks for the advice fred_up, what seems odd is if I remove the car from the bluetooth list then re-establish the connection to the car it works fine.
But once I leave the car then go back it comes up no entries again!
I'll try unticking the contacts in the outlook sync settings to see if that does the trick.
I have a pioneer set in the car and with winmo the phonebook was working fine, but with my NANED Android it's not.
I'll be testing some other builds later this week to see if it's the build that i'm using or not.

Okay.. Got it working.. I needed to allow my pioneer to access my phone's addressbook
I have address book access set up on the car and the phone but still nothing. It actually came up yesterday then disappeared right before my eyes - how random!
Having tried everything I can think of I give up and am going to remove exchange, I'm fed up of the keypad lock it forces you to have anyway and I tried the registry tweak to remove that but as I'm no programmer couldn't get that to work either.
Thanks for your replies anyway.
