Ok, so I upgraded to Oreo and I want to ask if anyone else noticed a reduction in max volume after the upgrade.
Is it just me, or did anyone else notice?
Yes and a slow finger print reader, and if I insert a memory card it really drags.

any suggestions on securely keeping the minisd card in place. i am on my 3rd card in 4 weeks and its getting kind of annoying at this point. the first time i lost the card was when i dropped the mda and didnt realize the card was missing until the following morning. i lost the 2nd card mysteriously during the night. any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.
Keep the MDA in its case? I haven't lost my MiniSD card and i've had my phone for about 4 weeks, but i keep it in the holster 80% of the time and almost always when i'm not home or it isn't in my hand directly...
How are you using your phone? How are you storing it? Etc.?
it usually in my holster, i just get clumsy at times...pretty sure that i lose the cards when i just drop my phone and forget to check if the card is still in... i was thinking of putting a layer of tape over it...
maybe i should just be more careful

....maybe? Tape also sounds like a good idea.
Tape may be tacky, but it sure beats purchasing a new card!!
I lost the fake mini sd card that came with my wizard, but have yet to loose my 1 gig card. I think I would cry...
I have my phone now since June or so and still haven't lost my card - I'd be devastated it it happened, I just realised I need to do a backup of that card !!!
Clear Tape sounds good to me.
double post, sorry.
Perhaps your locking mechanism for the minisd card is (semi)broken? You mentioned it had fallen the first time...?
I still have to push the card in pretty hard with my fingernail to get it to pop out, so for your cards to fall out so easily makes you think the minisd card(s) might not lock in correctly?
I have to say I've never had an issue with my card falling out of the slot. It locks in pretty firmly. I suspect a defective slot. Or perhaps you're not pushing it in quite far enough to enable to lock?

Dude after I read this my SD some how came out at a friends house and I didnt know until I tried to run some of my apps of my card. Some skater tape works well and it looks much cooler if you run it all around and cut out the spots for the various items.
Install NotifyMe.. it alerts when your MiniSD pops -out or deliberately removed from the phone.
Just execute the EXE anywhere on the phone and it automatically puts a shortcut on Start - Settings - Personal and configure from there..

It's also got something to do with the card itself. I have a 2 GB Apacer card which has never popped out, and even after I eject it I have to pull it out by hand, it won't drop out if I shake the phone or turn it upside down.
But I also have an older 512 or 1MB card (don't remember the brand name and can't find it any more). If I just push it in to eject it, it almost flies out of the slot. If I eject it and then hold the phone upside down it just drops out.
So I guess my tip is: If you've lost one, dont buy the same brand/size again without trying it in your phone
thanks for that app and advice guys
da_mayhem - thanks for that program - just tested it out and now at least when im drunk and lose the card ill know to look for it - going into my essential apps folder - thanks again

No problem mate..now i'm thinking about how to make my mini sd glow in the dark lol
this may not be wat ur asking, but i always forget my mini sd in my mem card reader >.<
I have a T-mobile Wing and i have a MicroSD 1GB i want to lock it so anybody cant see what do i have in the Micro Sd how do i do that???? is there a software, an aplication???? please helpppppp
you can hardware lock it so that it can't be modified by switching up the little switch on the side of the card.
while i'm sure there is a software way to hide your card, the simplest solution is simply to take it out.
Is it possible to improve the fingerprint scanner ? Its really frustrating the current method which samsung put on galaxys devices.

How do you mean improve? I can take a guess at what you mean. If your talking about how the scanner takes a few tries then you need to re-do the input scan. When you do, start normally swiping down but start rotating your finger. Also add a little roll to get the sides of your print too. The scanner should recognize your print quicker in fewer tries. Samsung's implementation of the FP scanner is just awful in my opinion anyways.
As the poster above stated, use some variation when setting up the scan. I know some people set up more than one finger and preferred that way. I just use my thumb and it always opens for me on the first try, unless my hand is wet from a glass or something.
Anybody with Lollipop know if you can use the fingerprint to unlock the phone when encrypted yet?

Yes you can. Both internal and sd card storage.
I registered the same fingerprint three times, 95% of the times takes just one pass, the other 5%, takes two passes
1-considering getting the 16gb in white. read a review saying you only have 9gb of free storage space to work with. im assuming the internal storage is faster to fetch files/launch apps than the sd card slot (theoretically using a very fast sd card)
what are the limits of the sd card slot? can I put anything on the sd card from the phone or is it for music video and pictures only? this is what worries me. not being apple to save apps to it and also lag because the internal storage would be faster and my day to day experience will be annoying.
2-is it true that using a bootloader/rooting voids warranty?
3-is there a double tap to wake phone?
4-how does the "hand swipe over the screen" to show the clock work when its in the pocket? is it constantly running? or is it using the perimeter sensor like when you make a call and turns the screen off?
5-I have a POS htc M7 now. to get in the phone, I need to press pwoer button>slide up to unlock> then draw password. 3 functions each time. I hate the phone with a passion.
if I could use a double tap to wake screen with the moto x instead of pressing the power button and also to disable the slide up to unlock I would be a much happier man. is this possible?
thank you
Does anybody have an sd card notification that keeps coming back. When I click it it opens up file explorer. I can dismiss it and it comes back.

I think any questions may be kind of hard to answer at the moment due to the device not actually being released until the 8th

Many of us are TMO users with the device in hand [emoji13]
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
It kept on giving me the notification with a brand new 128gb PNY until it finally just didn't recognize it at all. I put in my old 32gb SanDisk and now it only shows on reboot.
Hahaha that makes me feel sad

I just noticed that it is after restarting the phone so I'll try that next time.
It's only on start up or when re mounting the card for me.. if you swipe it away it stays gone
Nice work Samsung, you just released an awesome buggy phone.

It's normal for new releases to have some bugs. Samsung will probably release an update to fix any bugs.
Multiple bugs for sure. Mine does the same thing constantly and I have a 64gb Samsung card in mine. Also the stupid UAC which promtps you to allow or deny to use every app you install and also the fact that OTG cables don't work with gamepads either. I feel like I downgraded from my note 5.
I just called T-Mobile and tech support said they're getting a lot of calls about the sd slot being bad. Mine unmounts and ejects the sd every 20 minutes or so now. They're sending me a new one.
S7 Edge Verizon. No matter how many time you swipe the notice closed or turn off notifications from the system ui it KEEPS COMING BACK!!! I hate this phone because of that already. It's driving me nuts! Guess I'll call Samsung tech support I really don't want to have to resort to root and xposed to get rid of this.

Hey guys, just wanted to post a solution to the problem. All of you with this phone, that use an external SD card, are getting an annoying notification that says, "SD card For transferring photos and media," and it doesnt seem to go away. If this message appears over and over again in your status bar, the only known way to get rid of it was to previously just keep "clearing" it out or remove the SD card completely.
If you are receiving a notification "SD card For transferring photos and media" on your Samsung Galaxy S7 and you cannot get the notification to go away, please try to do the following:
1. BACKUP your sd card - plug your phone into your computer and copy off the contents of the SD card
2. On the phone, navigate to: Settings >> Memory >> SD Card
3. In the submenu, choose FORMAT
All of the data on the memory card will be formatted to the correct file system and the memory card will be reconnected to the phone for proper use. The message, "SD card For transferring photos and media" should no longer appear.
Hopefully this helped you out! Thanks!

Same. That was the first thing I tried and it doesn't make a difference.
Same issue. I used scotch tape and put 3 pieces on top of the SD card. Now the issue happens 1/day instead of 1/hour. 5 pieces of tape and it is too thick to close, or it gets caught inside the phone. I'm trying to figure out if this is a physical or software issue. The last time it failed yesterday I had dropped it (6 to 8 inches) to a carpeted floor, so I'm not sure if it was coincidence or truly a physical issue. Verizon store guy changed my SIM card, but that doesn't seem to have much of an effect (love the placebo attempt). The SD card worked fine in my S5.
