Game Launcher - Hide games option gone in Oreo? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Has the new version of Game Launcher removed this option in Settings? It would basically auto hide any games from the App List automatically when a new game was downloaded. I found it very convenient and now being on OREO this option appears to have been removed. Yes, you have the option to manually hide any App you choose but the game launcher setting was automatic. Did the option move possibly?

[Q] Change icon order

Hello.
I have Nexus 7 with Android 4.1.2. How to change icon (applications) order in Applications tab? If I hold the icon I can only drop in into desktop or uninstall but I can't move it in another place.
Best regards
Some non-stock launchers have options for the App drawer. You might check out Nova, Apex, Go, Trebuchet, etc. in Play Store or their individual websites. I don't know one specifically that offers what you want, but it wouldn't hurt to check them out. Is it really a problem to find an app sorted alphabetically in the App drawer.
Stock launcher doesn't let you do it. You could try something like Nova Launcher Prime. That allows allows you to hide the ones you don't want to see.

Nova Launcher not working well with G2?

Hi Guys,
I installed Nova Launcher and the knock knock feature to turn off the screen is not working
Any work around?
SJ
Hi,
Double tap on the notification bar area...
Below is a little app you can add to assist Nova. Install this from the link below at the Play Store, then set Nova up that a Double Tap will execute the app. You can double tap any where on the screen, you are not limited to just the Notification bar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cillinsoft.scrnoff
Double-tapping the notification bar will work. You can also install the Screen Off app from the Play Store, here. Make sure to open the Screen Off Settings and activate it. Then in Nova Settings, go to Gestures and Buttons-->Double tap, select the Apps tab, scroll down and select the Screen Off app. Knock off should work just as it used to.

Change default home launcher

Shield is absolutely amazing, but it's home screen is painful.
How can I change the default home launcher to something else?
Thanks!
You'll need to uninstall the current update from Google's TV Launcher, then install a 3rd party Launcher like "HALauncher". Also, turn auto updates off in Google Play Store settings so HALauncher will fix as your default launcher...

Hi,
I've uninstalled the Latested Updates but Hal Launcher is still not being set as the Main Launcher. Even though it's selected as Home App. I don't get any option to set it as Default.
I've tried to clear the defaults from Learnback Launcher but that didn't work.
Don't want to Root now just incase I wish to return it. Still all new for me and want to test it out as much as possible.
Thanks

thanks i'm gonna try but nobody knows if in the standard options of the samsung or options of gamelauncher propose this ??
You can remove the icons from the screen without issues. Press on the game icon, it will give you option to remove/move app. Move it to remove. It will just remove the icon form the home screen, it won't uninstall the game

Change default Home app

I installed Pixel 2 Launcher.apk as default Home app. But when I reboot phone, I need manully set Pixel Launcher as default Home app, otherwise Home app will still be Launcher3.
How can I disable or delete Launcher3? Where is Launcher3 app in system?
Even I am using pixel launcher but I am not facing any such issues. If you have not already done, go to settings --> apps --> click gear icon(top right) --> under 'home' select ''pixel launcher'.
P.S : I am using pixel launcher v1.7

If your device is rooted just uninstall the default launcher using 'System App remover (root)' app. If your device is not rooted try to install third party launcher preferably 'Nova Launcher' and reboot, then set pixel launcher as default( As specified in my previous post). I am not sure whether this works. But initially I installed nova launcher and then later pixel. Hope it works.

I advise you not to uninstall any of the system apps because you might have extra problems with installing OTA update. You should only freeze system apps, so they are not active, nor visible
Thanks Ved K's suggestion. I install 'System App Remover' app and find Launcher3.apk's path. Rename this apk, so I get Pixel 2 Launcher as my default Home app when I reboot system everytime.
The next I want solve is set Live Wallpapers - Your world, Solar System as my default Home screen when reboot.

using the same launcher, not having such issue here
I'm using Microsoft Launcher and I don't find any issues keeping it as default launcher.
I just selected (ALWAYS) When asked Just once/always while touching home button.
I have MiA1.
Another alternate is to reset DEFAULTS in settings menu from the LAUNCHER3 APP.
There is no way to freeze Launcher3 if device is not rooted.
You can neither disable nor uninstall default launcher and imo! After playing with ADB tools for years and switching/flashing multiple/heavy OSs in my various devices I find rooting a waste. It makes your device vulnerable (not talking about security, talking about performance) and you eventually miss the future updates that feels miserable (flashing them is time taking, not for worthy people as every worthy individual is busy person).
