I have a Moto 360 running android wear.
I'm seeing high battery drain from wakelock *sync*/com.google.android.gms.fitness/com.google/eM_ADDR - resulting in up to 8% drain/hour on lollipo (5.0.1 / samsung I9505)
When I view sync settings on the phone I see "google fit" is still syncing. This happens quite regularly. other sync apps are fine, phone has mobile connection etc. Any ideas?
Whilst not necessarily an android wear OS issue, hoping this is an appropriate place to discuss - open to suggestions as to where else to try!
I noticed it too (Sony Smartwatch 3 and Nexus 5 4.4.4). I just ended up uninstalling it. I like Fit, but not enough to try and figure out what was causing it.
It definately is google fit. Just this morning my phone's been unplugged for 90 mins, and for around 60 mins google fit had this same wakelock keeping the phone awake.
I tried clearing fit data & reconfiguring, but the issue came straight back. Very frustrating when this isn't even a third party app, but instead a google app!!!
fit for purpose - not... now wondering if I need to switch to another solution - I did try "my fitness companion" only for it to regularly crash on the watch! Grrrr! Moto Body works, but there's no access to the data off the watch... ideally an alternative client that worked with android wear/moto 360 and synced to google fit would be ideal!
Use greenifiy app and hibernate GoogleFit on your phone. It will only try to sync when you open the app
Connected to moto 360 and Google fit.. Use apps.. Move it, cinch and aqualert which sync with Google fit
No issues on android 4.4.4
Seems to be issue with lollipop

It is not a issue with "Lollypop", I never had any issue.

i have uninstalled google fit on my phone because of battery drain but i still have the app on my watch and still counts my steps taken.
received the le pro3 today. it is a really very fast phone! it is dual sim international model - see the attached photos. everything works, except here are few problems and questions:
1) the charging is really slow.- see the attached picture. looks like the QC3.0 does not work at all.
2) i have enabled NFC, and when trying to install android pay, the apps says ' it not able to identify what system the phone has......so the android pay does not work with this phone
3) where do i find drive file for Le Pro 3 PC connection? if i just plug in the phone, the PC does not see it.
1) I think fast charge only works when screen is off and phone is idle. Also I think only charges up to around 80% for safety, then normal charging kicks in.
2) Android pay installed ok, but upon opening just informs me that it's unavailable..shrugs...edit turning on nfc lets the app start up to add card entry, then get an error saying Google didn't recognise phone or software is Android compatible
3) I think just standard adb drivers for your OS is needed
thanks for the quick reply. i try to compare using another charger ( 5v 2A charger for older phone) , and found the charging current is much bigger (at around 1200ma compare to the factory's charger's 600ma).
tried to turn on NFC and also downloaded another apps to test the NFC - the rest result is OK. but installed Android pay again, still not working..... here is the err - see the attached.
for the USB ADB driver, i have not found a working one yet. tried to download few. but when try to install, it does not show any device? so unable to install. if i plug the phone to PC, the pc does not see the phone....?
Does the back have a brushed feel or matte feel? Saw on some pictures from the US release that it was brushed but some youtube videos show a matte feel. Looks a little confusing.
it is very good quality solid built phone. the back is metal (brushed ), i compare it to my daughter's iphone 6 plus, while hold in the hand, you almost cannot tell the difference beside the finger print location. and the interface (EUI) is easy to use. i think it is better than the google's MM6.0 native ui. the left bottom does two things . it gives you easy access to multiple app windows, quick control ( like the MM's native UI's drop down control) and some other controls and you can slid it left to right to access lots more items than the old MM6.0 native dropdown function. it works very well. the middle home bottom if hold more than 1 second, it take a screen shot. works really handy. And the fingerprint sensor works really fast to unlock apps or the power. so you dont need the power bottom anymore.
Phone manager and the battery: it has quiet few very useful battery management functions, the phone manager allow you control network access for both Data and Wifi - see photo attached.
the battery life: after fully charged at 23:00 last night, keep both Cell ( including data) and wifi on ( wifi will sleep after screen off), at 8:00am this morning, it has 96% battery .....
the camera is also decent. not as good as iphone 6 plus's one, but very good.
overall, i am very happy with the phone.
Problems remaining to be solved: android pay, and slow charging. and i am still not able to get it to connect to my pc ( windows 10). can someone show me where to get a working adb driver?
i think the phone is too new, some update will fix these issues.
I know it's kind of early, but what is the SOT for device so far. Also does the device get warm after continuous usage

i have the phone only for one day. so far i have not experience 'warm' yet. as i dont play games. but yesterday, the phone was almost on all day from the morning, and with charger connected. just surfing the web and install apps. the phone is very fast, and not really warm ( i mean is is just normal compare to other phones). Note, my LePro3 is not the US version which is a single sim and 4Gram and 64G storage, but mine is a dual sim, 6G RAM, 64 G storage version. i am try to figure how to get PC's adb drive installed. strange, the phone works fine on my other PCs which are also windows 10......
update: the PC only see phone connected as PTP device, but not MTP for some reason. on my other PC the MTP connection works OK. try to update drive, but the PC still show ' unknow device' if i switch the USB mode to MTP.
and i bought it from this place:
http://www.camelwill.com/
Just try to enable developer option, after touched the screen 6 times. It shows this photo. So looks like the international version outside USA is a custom rom. i checked, the phone is not rooted , but some apps says the phone is not 100% rooted....
no wonder google's android pay does not work. as android pay does not support rooted phone
looking for factory official rom to come.......

Hi! I've just ordered and am still waiting for my Pro 3.
Regarding Android Pay:
Android Pay uses the Safety Net API to check if a specific device has passed the Android CTS (Compatibility Test Suite) tests and is whitelisted on this compatibility checklist as a valid Android device. See also here: Checking Device Compatibility with SafetyNet and Android Compatibility Program
So as long the used ROM is not whitelisted in Google's CTS checks, Android Pay will always claim that this device is not compatible (even if it's unchanged and not rooted).
So either LeEco gets its ROMs checked by the Android Compatibility program or you will have to wait until some developer finds other ways to circumvent the SafetyNet checks..

The battery is a strong point with this phone. Getting 10 hours SOT by mostly browsing on WiFi with low indoor screen brightness.
.. To the OP query about charging, being no doubt on a vendor rom, maybe a needed process for fast charging has been deleted. I notice in running apps i have 3 separate qualcomm services running. Is yours the same?
Nice phone there mate.

If it's the same as Le Max 2, then yes it does. Unfortunately leeco eui gives no control and makes all notifications flash green. Battery notifications are red low battery, orangey/yellow charging. On le max 2 once on a cm13 rom all colours become available to apps, I guess it would be the same on this phone.
after few days usage, the phone is very good, especially the battery. i dont use any 3rd party battery apps, just the phone's build in battery management. for the slow charging issue, i also saw report for other Le Pro2 reported bug of slow charging from this latest EUI5.8. i believe there will be an update come up soon to address some of bugs introduced from the new EUI5.8 based rom.
I've heard that the metal back got a coating on it that makes it feel almost like plastic, is it true? Think i'm gonna order one this weekend, overall it look pretty solid for 300$

The back is really smooth, even the brushed metal version but it feels cold to the touch like a metal phone should so you know its real metal
It is real Metal feeling. These days Chinese manufacturers make best phones if they want. Take a look at iPhone which is made in China. Also, these new comers like LeEco and others are determined to officially enter the US market, there wont be any copy right issues. And the support will be good too. They all knew that before they make such move.

For this of us who bought other le phone previously that is different story. Because there was no official support for Google in those phones as Google is not available in China. Even those so called international models are not official ROMs. But I believe things are no changes

I've seen this reported a few places (here and on Reddit) - I was experiencing the same issue, but somehow kind of backed into a solution... Hopefully the following can work for others.
As I said, I backed into this, so not sure which of the steps ultimately did it, but it appears to have boiled down to Google Play Services needing the update.
1) I first forced my watch to use its own wifi.
- Selected to "stop using carrier profile" (not delete) (in sim info)
- turned off Cellular and bluetooth in Connectivity (leaving only wifi), as well as turned off bluetooth on my phone (i think this helped with faster downloads on my watch)
- I also had the watch on the charger during this time, not sure if that matters.
2) Then I Updated Android Wear App on watch
- This had to happen pretty fast but i eventually got it
- Open play store, quickly swipe from top, select my apps, select "update"
- I had to do this a few times (because play store was of course crashing). But eventually Android Wear updated to 2.8
3) Then I updated Google Play Services
- Once Wear updated to 2.8, I was prompted with a notification of "Must update Google Play Services to use Android Wear". I clicked this a few times, but nothing seemed to be happening. Not sure if this would have eventually gone through on wifi or not... So I:
- Turned off Wifi on the watch
- Turned on bluetooth on both watch and phone (to pair them again)
- The next time i clicked the Google Play Services notification it started to download, then updated!
After Play services update was complete, i could then access Play Store with no issues!
I just had the same issue on my Huawei Watch 2, here is the post I made about how to resolve the issue:

I had followed these instructions when you posted it in another thread. I was able to update to android wear 2.8 and update google play services, yet, my play store was still crashing. Similar to steejo's above linked solution, I side loaded the newest version of the android wear play store. Going on 2 days now and haven't seen the issue come back.
Thank you very much steejo for describing how to solve this. Had this same issue as well with the Wear24 and using ADB over WiFi to install the Android Wear and the Google Play Services software got the crashes to finally stop.
This is absolutely ridiculous on Android's part. Pathetic actually. Why even continue releasing watches if you don't want fix bugs or even continue the development of Wear. Including pushing hardware manufacturing (2 year old snapdragon chip). Before finding these posts my experience with Android Wear the past 2 weeks was horrible.

Want to know something else ridiculous? I had to downgrade the native Phone application on my Pixel 2 back to stock because I noticed that when I received calls, the screen on my phone would go completely black and only my watch would buzz. I'm not sure that Google really gives a s*** about Android Wear users, wouldn't be surprised if they release a Pixel Watch and end support for all other Android Wear devices.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd love one too lol but I just got this watch and want it to last a bit, or at least obtain updates on it.
Well, there doesn't seem to be a generic smart watch thread, so I thought I would post this here. If there is a better place for it, mods may feel free to move it if they wish.
So, i am looking for a recommendation on a smart watch. I was a pebble time user for a long time, but after the announcement that they will stop supporting it thus summer, i am a bit concerned its gonna stop working, so I have started my search. So far I have been through and returned a Fossil, and am getting ready to return my Zen Watch 3 because of all the bugs and problems (see my post yesterday) so I came here for a recommendation. If needed, I have a 6P running Android 8.0.0 rooted.
So here are my needs. please keep in mind that the needs listed may (I don't know) be common to most/all smart watches, but figure I should probably include them in case.
1) It must work reliably 99.9% of the time. 15 seconds before the watch notifies me of a phone call isn't acceptable. (Hence why I am thinking about ditching my Zen. The Zen Watch 3, as least as it is working for me is a horribly unreliable piece of junk, and Asus tech support is a total joke.)
2) It must notify me of phone calls, and text messages, and include the contact name in the notification.
3) I must be able to reply, at least by voice, to text messages I receive.
4) Must get at least 24 hours out of a charge with light use, and have some battery to spare. EG. My Zen watch, I use it occasionally, and after 24 hours, I usually have 25-%-35% life left. Thats why I got rid of the Fossil. Battery life was horrible.
5) Sub $500 Canadian (For our US people out there, thats about $400)
6) Must be available in Canada, and be purchasable from a retailer that permits "I didn't like it" returns. (Such as big box stores, etc, where you can return an item because it didn't suit your needs. After the nightmare I have been though with these watches, it has to be able to go back if its junk IMO)
7) IF it runs android wear, it must run 2.0+, however I am not insisting it be an android wear watch.
8) If it doesn't run android wear, there must be a google authenticator app available for it.
9) It must either have at least one programmable button (programmable button to launch an app) OR have a way to launch an app very quickly. Lets say with less then 2 seconds of work. I map this button to my authenticator app (see #8) because I use it often.
10) Must run at a decent speed. I find the zen watch crazy slow. I am not used to it taking at times 5-10 seconds to open an app.
Things I would like:
1) I kinda like Android wear. The selection of apps seems quite nice, and having google assistant right on the watch seems pretty awesome.
2) An extended battery life. Maybe I was spoiled by my pebble, and my 5-7 day battery life, but I would really like that, if its even available.
3) Color screen. Not really a need, but would be nice to have.
4) Decent selection of apps.
5) The ability to use my watch to take/receive calls, and actually use the watch as a speaker phone. Via bluetooth of course, I am not expecting it to work standalone without a phone.
So maybe I have been spoiled by my Pebble, and ran into a decent watch that just works, and works for my needs. I understand its possible that a watch that meets my needs (other then the pebble) just doesn't exist, and if thats the case, just tell me so. I am willing to accept that an an answer.
Before I end, I want to thank those of you that actually took the time to read my post, as it is a rather long one. And I want to thank those that took a few seconds to think about my needs and what may be available/useful to me. And a special thank you in advance to those that take the time to actually reply.
Hi All, I have purchased a Mi phone for the first time ever – the Redmi Note 6 pro. The hardware specs are amazing and so is the quality of the hardware, but the MIUI is just too pathetic.
I was earlier using a Moto G4 plus running on Android Nougat 7. I wonder why anyone has to build a skin above Android, which runs so well!
I feel I have actually been downgraded by switching to Redmi Note 6 instead of getting an upgrade! Basic functions as listed below are missing in MIUI 10 compared to my good old G4 Plus:
1. Does not have a section for frequently called contacts (have to save nos. on speed dial and remember them like old days)
2. Not able to easily block calls – in my G4 plus, I could simply long press the contact and block it, now I have to go to settings and block contact… such a long process
3. Above blocking of contacts is complicated for SMS also unlike my G4 plus
4. There is no cast icon (screen mirroring) in the notification slider – have to go in to settings to do so
5. Not able to set separate ringtones for each app like GMail, my office email, etc (this could be done in MIUI 9 – checked on my friend’s Redmi Note 4)
6. My employer provides me VMWare boxer as the enterprise email client, it vibrates when new email arrives but does not play notification sound. Furthermore, although the app allows changing the ringtone, on trying to do so the phone nothing happens
7. Notification icons are not appearing on the top left corner of the screen
8. Does not display no internet on wifi, phone just automatically switches to Data – but I cannot keep checking whether my phone is on wifi or data all the time (in G4 plus, it used to indicate no internet on wifi with an exclamation symbol on the wifi icon in the notification bar)
9. Quick charge 3.0 takes 2 hours to charge the phone to 100%. The G4 plus, although with a smaller battery of 3000mAH used to charge in approximately 50 mins, why should 1000mAH more take almost 1 hour more?
10. Vodafone VoLTE is not support on this latest device.
In the last week I have spent hours browsing forums understanding how to fix issues or find alternative ways to work out. I never had to do so for my G4 plus.
I really regret the decision of buying a Xiaomi device and I wish I could go into the past and revert my decision and would have rather brought Nokia 6.1 puls, Moto One power or the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1… wonder why I brought the Redmi note 6 pro…
The forums have so many users who are very helpful and thanks to them I am able to use the phone. But, why should I browse forums for such basic issues after investing so much money in a new phone which was supposed to be an upgrade?
Since I have criticized the phone so much, I would also like to mention the reasons I brought this phone and the advantages of this phone over my G4 plus:
1. Significantly better camera, actually excellent camera
2. Almost full view screen with a good screen size
3. Hardware is good hence the phone is faster
4. Very good battery life
These are all in terms of hardware, I wish the software was robust as well. I can’t even root the phone or use custom roms as my enterprise apps will not work them. So, now I am stuck with this phone hoping that someday updates will resolve the basic issues I need….
keep going on motorola.
waiy for a few days.. maybe stable GSI starts to roll and u can flash custom roms
Well that´s your opinion and I respect it. But you are mentioning issues related to MIUI and not exactly exclusives to this device. I think you should have done a little research on MIUI to know if you´ll like it before.
Also you can wait for the development of custom ROMs with closer experience to pure Android .

Quick Charge 3.0 is working fast for me, try changing the charging with the 12v/1.5A. My redmi note 6 pro charges in less than 1:30hrs.

Install a custom ROM like Pixel Experience, but don't root that rom, no problem arise with your enterprise apps. (If you enterprise apps Pixel Experience ROM as a custom ROM, then you can try OxygenOS port, it will definitely won't get detected as a custom ROM)
Install Custom ROM like Havoc OS or Superior OS. Will do the job for sure.. and my phone takes around 1 hour and 35 mins to fully charge from 0 to 100% , don't know what kind of charger you are using. i am using aukey QC 3.0 charger.

Hello,
Thanks a lot for your help... I have also been searching for workarounds for quite sometime..
For 1. Did install google phone but sadly that does not display call log dont know for what reason - so I have created contact shortcuts on my home screen
2,3 Did as u suggested thanks again!
4 - no solution
5,6 - have rolled back to MIUI 9.6 wherein there are inbuilt options to set separate ringtones for all apps and my enterprise apps are also playing notifications correctly - alternatively u can also use the app notification manager pro
7. If u use latest MIUI 10, u can see notification icons for few seconds on unlocking ur screen - cant fix this as now I m on MIUI 9.6
8. will work only if u scroll down notification bar (not a good option though) - does show the exclamation mark when wifi is not working
9. I have a QC 3.0 charger which takes 2 hrs to fully charge the phone fully... cant do anything about this
10. VoLTE is now working - i also raised a complaint with vodafone to sort this out
I have realised that MIUI 9,6 was much stabler and rolled back to it... so the phone is much better now compared to MIUI 10

Install a custom ROM like Pixel Experience, but don't root that rom, no problem arise with your enterprise apps. (If you enterprise apps Pixel Experience ROM as a custom ROM, then you can try OxygenOS port, it will definitely won't get detected as a custom ROM)

Buy this Charger for Quick Charge it supports Quick Charge 3.0 support with 24 Months warranty, I am using it from 2 years. It is the best charger. Price is a bit high from other charger as it is imported, but quality is definitely good. Link:
