I have a nandroid backup on my sd card. I know in TI you go to menu ->extract from nandroid backup
but it gives the error "failed to locate your TWRP backups directory. Please verify that the "TWRP/BACKUPS" folder exists on your sd card, which it does. It's at twrp/backups/[random numbers and letters]

I don't have any partitions and I'm not even sure that would be a reason to not let me backup. I can run Nandroid backup fine but I can't run Nandroid backup +ext.....Can Someone please help!

tweet me @robotnoize1 if possible...thanks!
I've had this problem before when I rename the nandroid file.
I usually power off, go back into recovery, and it works.
Not restore but backup.

You have no partitions so backup + ext does not apply to you. That is the default error when the script doesn't detect an extX partition to backup.
okay.
Exactly, an ext partition is for the apps to sd technique which you are not using, so there is no need for an ext backup, a normal nandroid is just fine
And my apps messages etc. will all be backed up?
well it's time to try it now I guesss!
Thanks for the help guys very much appreciated!
I do believe you messages will be, however your apps will not! but a simple visit to the android market and then to your download tab will bring up your list again Otherwise just create an ext partition and do a nandroid+ext backup and that will save your apps.
Correct me please if im wrong, but hasnt the RA recovery been having issues with ext backups on cyangen?

You are wrong.
Nandroid does backup the whole phone, everything under "/". By everything I do mean everything on the phone storage.
also, make sure it is fully charged before trying to restore.
im having trouble locating the nandroid folder i searched around and it said its in the root directory but i dont see it can anyone help me? i already partition my sd card thanks
It's just called 'nandroid' in the root of your sd (fat patition), and contains several sub folders. If it's not there, it ain't there. If you partitioned after making a backup all files on your sd will be gone because they were formatted during the process.
the nandroid folder isnt in the root directory and im able to see it in the recovery screen and use it to restore
edit:
solved if other people are using clockwork for backup its under clockworkmod then backup
I did a stock slot backup on my old phone to sdcard. I see it present under twrp using file explorer. Safestrap cant find it. I click restore on the replacement phone and there are no choices listed. Suggestions
You will have to make a backup of your current rom to recreate the folder that has ypur backups then move your old backup to the new backup folder switching phones changes the mame of the backup folder
Hi. I used an app called Samsung tool to back up my efs to external SD card but cannot see the backup anywhere with file explorer. Thanks? using sgs4 cm11 m12
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

You can see invisible files using Root Explorer.
Is copying the efs folder to a pc same as backing up?
From what I can see, yes. However, I'd also use Samsung Tool (search the forum for it) so you can back EFS up into an .IMG file, in case there is hidden information in the EFS partition that backing up the files themselves would miss.
So I had problems with my phone and I decided to go back to pure stock marshmallow but before I could do that I ended up moving all of my data folders from internal storage to my micro SD card then I ended up flashing twrp using fastboot I backed up my Marshmallow Stock ROM and flashed AICP ROM with magisk it was successful, then I downloaded titanium backup gave it root permissions then i went into the Backup/Restore section and couldn't see my backups. In file manager in my internal storage I'm able to see the Titanium backup folder and my backups as well I went online and it said to go Main menu, preferences, backup folder location and I'm able to see my backups there. I even tried moving them to my SD card and but when I go into the titanuim backup folder it shows a grey "Use the Current Folder" so I ended up moving titanium backup folder to internal storage clicking "Use the Current Folder" but in the Backup/Restore section there are no backups what can I do?
