nandroid help - myTouch 3G, Magic General

im having trouble locating the nandroid folder i searched around and it said its in the root directory but i dont see it can anyone help me? i already partition my sd card thanks

It's just called 'nandroid' in the root of your sd (fat patition), and contains several sub folders. If it's not there, it ain't there. If you partitioned after making a backup all files on your sd will be gone because they were formatted during the process.

the nandroid folder isnt in the root directory and im able to see it in the recovery screen and use it to restore
edit:
solved if other people are using clockwork for backup its under clockworkmod then backup

[Q] Rename backup with ROM Manager

After renaming backup files with rom manager none of those files I can use
to go to that backup up, not using spaces. Anybody has this problem or
I am doing something wrong.

A little more info on this, backup is starting and restoring but cant boot after is done, at the end says something ext sd cant be found. I am able to install any rom with no problem but not the back up cuz I renamed it.
dito33
Well clockwork names like this "2010-11-19.22.36.00" that's the name of one of my backups... try renaming to that maby... but I'm not sure how rom manager does it. When I had a nexus one I had same problem when renaming nad backups in its rom manager.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I guess my problem is escalating I tried reg back up that just made and wiped and went back to restore and wont restore of the original backup (not renamed).
Why the backup don't work anyone please make suggestion. Is that upgrade zip file root file in sd causes any problem.
To be more clear restore is doing its job until at the end says finished but the very last line sd ext image something can't be found.

[Q] Problem restoring titaniumbackup on NANDbuild cyanogenmod7

Hey guys,
could you help me out restoring my settings with titaniumbackup, here's my problem:
I backed up my settings on my previous rom (DHDrom SD), then flashed to cyanogenmod7, but to get rid of all the garbage on my SDcard(like stupid pictures and sounds used in wmapplications that appear in my android gallery and music application) i wiped my SDcard clean (i did backup my SD on my computer). But now is the problem that titaniumbackup obviously can't find the backup file anymore because i wiped my SDcard. So...
Is there a way to fish up my backup file from the SDcardbackup on my computer and get it properly onto my actual SD so that titaniumbackup could use it to restore my settings?
im sorry for being a nb
Thanks!

Hi,
Looking at my own sd card ,I've got a TitaniumBackup folder and a TitaniumBackup-3.7.3.2.zip.
See if you have anything like on your pc backup, restore them to the card, and see if that restores your settings.
nope didnt work the only thing i can find with the name titanium in it is an empty folder in the data folder
The default location for Titanium backup is /sdcard/TitaniumBackup. If that folder doesn't exist or is empty, then it seems your backup is lost.
Okay and couldn't it be hidden in the root folder somewhere because titaniumbackup always asks for root access? Because I used the free root version of titaniumbackup?
Anyways thanks for answering!!

[q] cwm backup /restore

Hello.
I've had my SGS 4 (I9500) for about 10 days, and have some problems (not critical but anoying), I don't know if they are related.
1) I use a microSD of 64 GB, the same I was using in my previous SGS 3 without any problem. In the SGS 4, sometimes the microSD is reported as damaged (even at boot, or during usage). It has happend several times, and fixed with a reboot. When this happends, the microSD can't be readed by the file explorer (neither ES explorer or Solid Explorer). I have formatted the microSD with the SGS 4, but didn't help.
2) I can't mount, format neither backup on the microSD from Recovery, even using Recovery that claim "backup / restore folders fixed". I need to backup on external SD in order to free the little space available on the internal SD!!
3) I can't find the folder where the backups made from Recovery are! Recovery says the path is sdcard/clockworkmod/backup, but I browse to that path in Solid Explorer, and it only has one file: .recovery_version. (I have activated the option "show hidden files"). I need to find these folders for at least move/copy the backup files to my PC, if I can't store them on the external SD.
At the beginning, I thought it was a generic problem of the SGS 4 that would be fixed with custom kernels or ROMs, but so far nothing has helped!
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Javier.

aham... sorry, I don't know how to use "dd command". :silly:
Do you mean the efs_Backup folder isn't a full backup of the efs?
Sorry for my ignorance, and thanks again.

i think you backuped efs partition with recovery, that is fine.
NV_DATA must be secured also, they are included in other partition, they are not included in efs partition so make a backup for them see this.
Hello guys.
Can anybody help me with the external SD issues? :fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance.
Solution to Recovery access to external SD
As I thought, the issue with the Recovery access to external SD was solved with a new version of Recovery. The Cofface Recovery V 2.0 made the magic! :victory:
I thought this would solve the issues with the esternal SD in general, but I keep having the error "SD is damaged", and when I try to mount it, it is detected as empty. I let the phone alone, and some minutes later the SD card is detected and mounted itself. :silly:
I hope this to be a release problem, and be eventually solved with new versions of kernels or ROMs. :fingers-crossed:

I found the clockworkmod backup in the described path. Are you reaching the memory root?
The sound/norifications folder is in system/media path.
Good luck.

correct path for deleting cwm backup files
... thanks, with your help I was finally able to delete my unneeded image.zip backup file that was not recognized by the recovery / mod manager clean up tool. Some other posts suggested to reach it under /mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup which is basically correct for accessing it, but even with root permission you are never allowed to delete it there (symlinks?). However, /data/media/clockworkmod was finally the correct path to physically remove it :victory:

Titanium backup moving backup folder to SD

Hi Folks
Just recently brought a 64GB SDXC card for my S4.
with only a measly 9gb free space on the internal memory I brought the SD card to move items such as my nandroid and titanium backups as well as photos and other media.
I managed to move the nandroid backups ok however I also run a daily Titanium backup which still writes to the local memory. I have changed the path to point to a folder on the SD card but it fails to write to this area.
At this moment in time I dont want move Apps to SD just the other bits as this will allow me to recover about 3/4GB of space.
Does anyone know how I can force titanium backup to move or write new files to the SD card location?
Thanks
Follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524277 to make your card writable, then copy your Titanium backup folder over, and run the Titanium to set the default backup location.
I'm trying to do the same by enable RW permission for the externalSD but ended corrupted my system/etc/permissions/platform.xml. Appreciate if anyone can send me the file.
Thanks.

Got the file from the previous link. Thanks.
I was recommended a app to download called FolderMount which would do this for me, I have to say since I have used this it found an issue with my SD card and fixed it automatically, then pointed Titanium back to the SD card and it now works fine..
Something to consider..

[Q] Restoring Backup ROM Problems:

Hello, everyone, I came to this forum in hope for some advice with a problem I'm having. I'm sure I'll be sticking around as I just got a new S5 for Christmas, though. I apologize if these threads are redundant, but I've searched this forum and Google and haven't found a solution. First things first, I have a T-Mobile S5 running 4.4.2 and I rooted, installed CWM with Phil's Touch and created a backup. I saved the backup to my internal sdcard storage and copied a backup on my PC via usb. I've since deleted the backup saved to my internal storage to save space and would like to place it back in my phone to restore. I have not installed a custom ROM yet or re-partioned anything. The reason I'd like to restore is because my dumb-ass accidentally uninstalled the stock video/audio player while attempting to remove bloatware. I now can't listen to or view any videos sent via text without first downloading them and using an installed app' to play them. (Any tips on this would be nice.) Here's my main issue: when I attempted to place the backup back into my Clockworkmod/Backup/ folder, I'm prompted with a message saying I can't move this item. I've tried moving the file on my PC as well as my phone and had no success. I then tried using a root file manager to manually place the backup into the clockwork folder (it allowed me to put the backup in my phone's storage, but not clockwork's backup folder) and it ended up placing it the folder in clockwork, but not the backup folder. The folders now go: Clockworkmod/'My saved backup' - Backups folder/ empty. I can't move nor delete that file because it is write protected and I have no idea what to do from here. I need to restore my backup and definitely remove the copy that's write protected as it is taking a few gb's of storage. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I will likely give a small Paypal donation to the best response. (preferably tonight, if possible.) Thanks, guys. Let me know if you need any other details.
Update: I just tried installing Phil's Touch Aroma File Manager as I read that can delete/edit write-protected files and I'm not able to launch it in recovery. The folder and zip files were correctly placed, but it won't recognize the folder. I don't understand why my phone isn't recognizing anything in the Clockwork folder.
