Hi guys.
I currently use a Iphone 8 and I was always using Android and iOS flagship devices.
Currently I am thinking about switching to mid-range phone and I am very interested in buying Mi A1.
I just want to know what is your experience is with the A1.
Does it lag, stutter and should I buy it?
Thanks.

No lags, shutters etc. Great phone for its price.

I used too flagships (Samsung) , my only regret is : the quality of the camera (no stabilization, poor quality in low light ). But with MiA1 : Good battery life, no lags or shutters, I confirm. If you don’t care about photos , go !

I haven't faced any lag issues or stutters
For 200$, this phone is excellent
It has been a month since I got this phone and I am completly happy. Im medium user who doesnt play games but chat a lot and use bluetooth a lot and Im really impressed. I got in average 6,5-7 screen on time (SoT). Performance is awesome, I tried PUBG and you can play it on 60 fps without problem (with some tweaks in dev options) Camera is crazy, especially the portait mode, pictures look realistic and they have vibrant colors. But you musnt have shaky hands. If you dont have them, pictures are sharp as hell. The 4K video is the same, sharp, vibrant, awesome. Everything good. This phone is just great.
The only lag or stutter I experience in this phone is during browsing In Chrome when you try to load another website or to cycle between tabs, but it is very rare. If I compare xiaomi mi a1 to my other phone Samsung S7 I mostly prefer the mia1 because of the sound and software.

Hello guys,
I need your honest opinion.
I need to get a new device. I only use blackberry old phone at this moment.
I am thinking of mi 6 or mi A1? Which one do you think is better?
I am thinking a1 for the price and stock android (what I love with oneplus before) but I like also to have snapdragon 835 and EIS for camera.
EIS also affect the quality of normal photos or videos only? I have shaky hands by the way.
Please advice.
Pricing:
mi a1 = 749 aed
mi 6= 1399 aed
Thanks guys
isn't one plus 5 vs mi 6 a better comparison.
i agree however oneplus 5 is out because of my budget
The A1 is easy to unlock bootloader and root. After that you can enable EIS in the build prop and install ported Google cam with HDR+. It's excellent.
The SD625 actually performs quite well on the A1. It may not be as fast as an 835, but it's always smooth and probably more battery friendly.
MI6 has NFC I think, which the A1 doesn't so that could be something to consider.
For the price, stock android AND a great camera, you just can't go wrong with the A1 imo.
Hi, I have been using my OPO for almost 3 years now. And currently I am looking forward to switch to other device. My OPO really served me well, but seeing all this type C, dual camera gimmick makes my OPO looks old and not to mention the battery is aging. So I need some opinion from you guys. Is there any severe issue (or manufacturing issue) with this phone?
to me type c, dual camera gimmick isn't worth the upgrade. Also mi a1 does have its limitations like no nfc, mid range cpu and surprisingly no direct boot support. Prices in India does prove mi a1 a good choice given its expected to receive updates upto android P. If I haven't messed up my nexus 4 touchscreen (also no lte ) i would have waited for oreo based devices.
Given one plus one custom rom support i would recommend to wait for some time.
I'm coming from a Oneplus 3 and i'm going to switch to the Xiaomi mi a1. Or u wait a bit and buy this one: http://www.gizchina.com/2017/10/19/xiaomi-redmi-note-5-redmi-5-plus-might-hit-markets-november-11/

OPO3 to A1 is definitely a downgrade thou. Because now OP5 is pretty much at premium price which I can't afford anymore so I am looking at the A1. But after some quick searches, there is some problem with the display and headphone jack hissing problem right?
the hissing problem isnt tht bad mate you only hear when the sound stops for a second but the multitouch sensitivity is the worst issue for me

It depends on what screen u have as there are 2 different panels used. For the headphone problem, IDK
I have no hissing problem and the touch screen issues are only mild
I was in the same boat few days back. And I made the switch from Oneplus one to Mi A1. I would say I'm pretty happy with my decision. OPO battery was dying and I was tried to manually flashing updates every now and then. Mi A1 is working as it should and I am satisfied with it. Portrait mode in day light is a big plus and a reason to get A1.

I see, then do you face those 2 problem described? Headset hissing sound display lag? Try with a small headsets, no headphone those big one.

Honestly, I don't get any display issues. Probably because I don't play games which requires multitouch.
About hissing sound, I don't get it on apple earphones.
With boAt 225 bassheads I get it but only when I get a notification while listening to music, not otherwise. So it's not a deal breaker for me.
Also switched from OPO and it is totally worth it!
It is better in any way. Screen, camera, battery life, sound quality and responsiveness.
I didn't realize how much the OPO was struggling to run Nougat until now.
I switched last week from 1+1(LineageOS) to A1. It seems as fast as 1+1 on daily use. Battery is awesome. Camera is pretty much the same, i'm not sure which is better. And finally all small bugs from lineageos are gone.
Hi guys, I have a restricted budget (around 150 EUR) and just want good battery life and good value for money, not gaming at all, a decent camera.
Where I live I can buy a brand new Xiaomi Mi A1 for less than 150€, I was wondering if I should go for it (custom rom, google cam ecc) or just wait for the Mi A2 Lite to drop the price a little (more compact design, newer)? What's your opinion?
Go for Mi A2 Lite, it is newer, better looking, has better battery capacity, bigger screen and will be supported officially longer than Mi A1 obviously
There are cons too but it's nothing to complain about.

The MiA2 lite is shorter and not as wide but it is thicker and still has the 625 cpu. You might want to consider the RN5 AI as well.

If you want a better battery go for a2 lite, if you want a better camera (dual 12 Mpixel, optical zoom) go for mi a1.
I'm doubting A1 has better camera. Mi A1's camera really is quite bad. I'd go with Redmi note 5 or Mi A2 lite every day. A1 is'nt worth it with it's noisy sound, network instability and mediocre camera.

You can find all of this on Mi A2 (from some feedbacks on MIUI Forum)
mi a2 lite so bulky and weird. btw mi a2 lite rear camera has 12+5mp which is not better than mi a1 (12+12) in quality, but in stability mi a2 lite is better because has gyro-EIS which makes video quality better. if u have more budget just pick mi a2/redmi note 5 pro

They've Kinda fixed it by decreasing the gain. But it's still there and by doing that fix they've decreased the punch in bigger headphones

Not getting much worse than a reference implementation by Omnivision. And just relembered, I haven't even mentioned that scrolling on Mi A1 has never been smooth.
I'm considering upgrading to this phone from the OnePlus 5T since it checks off all my boxes. Only thing I'm worried about is the actual performance of the chip. I don't do much with the phone and the most intense thing I do is probably play Real Racing 3. Will this be an issue?
While on this topic, is it actually an upgrade from my 5T? The camera performance is surely better but thanks to the Google Camera, photos are pretty good with the 5T too.
Actually, the Snapdragon 730 performs better in benchmarks than the 835. So it should be at least equal there.
But this phone is heavy compared to 5T, with case it gets bulkier. Gaming performance is good, camera is bad. If you're coming from oneplus series, better buy oneplus again IMO. They are compact devices with better OS and cameras.
Camera is bad... or maybe the guy behind the camera xD It's one of the best in the phone market but yes it's bad compare to a Canon SLR camera !

no, for a normal phone camera is terrible, for now even gcam can`t save it. you dont need to compare to a SLR to see the bad quality.
and its one of the best MID RANGER phone, not even close to any of the best phones, chill

You seem to have very high standards when it comes to the camera. Imho the phone takes great pictures in good lighting conditions. For low light gcam is the way to go. Yes, it's not as good as the flagships out there but we are talking budget here.
The 9T is an upgrade from the OnePlus 7 - I just came from the 7 to the 9T.
OK, so the 9T isn't quite as fast, but there's barely anything in it - I don't game, but all other apps launch and run great on the 730. The screen is better on the 9T, the cameras are pretty much the same, battery is better. Loss of stereo speakers isn't a massive problem for me as the 9T's speaker is good, and I still use a wired headphone so no dongle is a bonus.
You won't regret buying compared to the 1+5T.

Wait what if they have blurry camera effect like MKBHD's unit lol
i've changed from oneplus 6 to mi9t, i had an amazon warranty refund for oneplus 6, so best of all is that i spent 350€ for 128gb mi9t and amazon refunded 540€ for oneplus 6.
phone itself was mostly an update even if had not spent less than refund, i haven't tried it for long time so something could be untested (like recording audio)
screen: mi 9t>op6
camera: little better for op6 in low light and 4k 60fps videos (but didn't use the, so much, too much space) mostly they seem to be on par (i have to test much more)
battery: mi 9t>op6
fingerprint: mi 9t mostly better, you don't have to "take" the phone or digit pin if it's on a table, just a little slower, but difference is less than half a second
speaker: seems quite louder, quality seems very similar
phone: i expected the thin speaker to be much more position-dependant, but i don't notice so much difference.
performance: i can't notice any difference, and i'm quite sure people with mi 9t pro won't ever notice any difference, cause 730 is already overpowered for screen resolution
honestly i won't listen those talking about the camera, you can't compare it to huawei high ends or samsung, but against op6 camera it's almost even.
Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.

USD 445 "ru.aliexpress.com/item/4000312079469.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.f09933edirzTlP"
I have ordered one (6+128) in China @rmb 2,799 (US$400). The Pro version (8+256) is RMB 3,499 (US$500). The price is not very competitive comparing with other phones with S855 CPU in China. But my main concern is the camera instead of the CPU as I can live with a less powerful one. I will try it when I receive it.

I own cheaper and worse Mi 9T and I am quite happy, especially with gcam mod. Considering reviews, you should be more than happy
I have received mine in the US. I paid $500 from Gear Best.
How good is the quality of the photo in google photos? The reduction from 108 mpx to 16 mpx must be a lot to know thanks
Mine arrived on Monday and I love it!
Battery life seems pretty good and I've been really impressed with the camera so far. The natural bokeh on the main sensor is fantastic!
Yes, the camera is impressive except the saving time of 108M is a bit long. I don't find big difference between Night mode and normal mode. In some night shots, I find the white lamps looks bluish. I hope Xiaomi can fix it in updates.
Excellent camera !!!

How to cancel and be reimbursed before the end of the sending period ???
just found this tread, very happy with this phone, the photo quality is just superb(for a phone obviously) and the main reason for me to buy it.
for me is super smartphone from 99point i put 91
- 2 point for QHD Display
-2 point for IP68
-2 for 90HZ refresh rate
-2 for SD855+
overall is the best smartphone on market right now with this price
I Paid 474 Euro I ordered it from gearbest arrived at the expected time to Italy, no problems and it works as it was invented to work, it needs some bug fixes here and there but with time and updates it will be an even more fluid phone. I would say it worth the price for me i could obviously buy an S10+ from a second hand but i can't say nothing other than this phone is more for me, it has everything the Snapdragon 730G works smoothly with Adreno 618 every game is solid 60 fps on mid settings on high settings 30 but not a lag or anything in PUBG; COD MOBILE and other GPU/CPU intensive games. It is smooth even only using social and the internet speed with Vodafone Italy is 80Mbps so i can say this phone is staying competitive without the latest Snapdragon 855 Cpu and the latest GPU. The battery is more than enough if i play a PUBG Solo match from 100% it drops to like 93% and lasts all day long using instagram watching youtube videos or anything, the fast charging makes more interesting this phone. The display with HDR+ is something that i seen in the last Samsung Models but even compairing the Xiaomi MI Note 10 with Samsung Galaxy S10+ i would still be happy using my Xiaomi the screen doesn't in the group of the brightest ones but it's enough even when the sun is directly reflecting on it. The face and fingerprint sensors are really fast without waiting it unlocks itself suddenly.
Hi everyone by then end of the year I would like to spend on the Mi Note 10, and I have an Mi 8.
For me the quality of photo and battery counts a lot, the processor I do not care about that.
Now the price, blocks me a little because I saw that the interface of the camera is a bit slow as on my Mi 8 during a switch from one mode to another.
I would like to have a constructive opinion on this phone.
Thank you [emoji4]

I had both and I recommend mi 10.
Photo quality difference is vast in favour of mi 10. I think screen quality is better too
Processor definitely better on mi9 but can't spot any significant difference in everyday use.
Battery life is impressive.
The only negative is bulk and weight
