i attempted to root this G950U S8 and didn't like how the rom turned out. How can I get back to stock? I have looked all over and have been unable to find a stock rom to download. Which is different than any other phone I've had so i find it unlikely that it can't be done. If you have a link to a stock reset rom, please post it.
thanks

as long as its a version 2 boot-loader your fines several firmware's on u2 bootloader...
Also is it the 80 % charge limit your speaking of ? If so thats a samsung thing its in the kernel and nothing we can do about it but the rom is tweaked just right...You get more life on a 80% charge than 100% charge the batt life on this rom is phenomenal

My battery problem is another one, when I conect the charger nothing happens and my phone runs out battery, buy it seems in dowload mode it charges. When I stay conected in Download mode for some minutes, then go out and the percent battery is 100%. I am not sure if it is a hardware problem. I m triying back to stock rom but it seems to be some kind tricky, right now I am reading a lot.
Thank you very much for your help!

I'm not talking about the battery, I'm talking about the metal pieces that are supposed to make contact with the battery.
Also, why don't you try using the AC power?
Also did you flash the correct rom?
did you go to htc site and enter your IMEI number (under battery) to confirm correct ROM
Can you link the exact ROM you flashed?
What post two wanted to know is "is it a t mobile USA" version, and what rom exactly did you flash, because if it is a tmous, and you used a non tmous stock then the phone is dead.

if you have a Tmobile USA version, so it sounds like you may have flashed a stock ROM with a .51 radio in it, meaning you now have a paperweight, so let's make sure, can you tell us which ROM you flashed exactly?
edit: if you don't have a tmoible USA HD2 then lets look at a few more options here.

Would probably cost more than the phone...
there's plenty of advice on solutions, keep looking. it may well be you just need to take battery out and leave it for a while... can't see how a stock rom would brick it, unless you installed the incorrect rom...

Wich ROM the did wou have? I think its missing boot loaders XXJVT , 2.3.4 minimum...
Flash Stock ROM, enter download mod and use odin to flash 2.3.4 with bootloaders, check samfirmware and download 2.3.4... then flash kernel Chainfire or Semaphore... then flash the ROM...
Cheers

Yea I have to send it in for JTAG i have seen many people had the same problem.
Sorry I'm a noon, don't do all those font sizes and colours and pictures aha but basically... I've been on CyanogenMod for about a year now and have never had WiFi issues. Been using cm12 nightlies for most of this year with no problem however, after updating my nightly the past two days I've been experiencing WiFi Drops happening every min and a half or so. So annoying. I've used Wifix apps etc, no luck. I've reverted to old night lies I used to run without any problems however the problem stays. I've consider flashing back to TouchWiz to see if that helps it but I really don't want to
Can someone please help me. My phone is on contract and my bill is overdue so I won't have mobile data until it's cleared (around June) so if I don't have WiFi, I'm screwed.

Have you tried flashing a new modem? This generally fixes wifi (and sound issues if there are any)
I barely know what a modem is haha but if that's the case, I'll try today.
Here you have a list of modems. Read the topic as it also has some info and the flashing guide.
You need to go to sammobile firmware checker and input your phone model, country and carrier. Then it will show you the correct firmware for your country and carrier. Based on that, download the modem. Make sure you get the latest modem. If you can't find the latest modem on the linked thread, there was another thread with all the latest modems, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

I'm on 5.02 CM12, I downloaded the latest modem for my GT-I9505 which matched the firmware code for a 4.4.2 S4 however still no luck ffs. This is really annoying, i don't know how my WiFi could jist shut off on me like that :/. Looks like I'm going to have to buy myself a new phone then. Can't use my mobile data for a couple months as my carrier has blocked me until I pay off my bill and now with my wifi disconnecting every 2 mins, I basically cannot use the internet. So frustrated.
I've flashed new nightlies, changed baseband versions, factory reset my phone and still no luck. What makes things worse is i cannot see any other threads with people in my postition so help is so minimal :/. Annoyed is an understatement.

Go back to stock firmware if you haven't updated the bootloader.
If it works fine on stock, then re-root your phone and try again with CM12.

When I dial that code, the phone does nothing...does the fact that I cannot turn on my mobile data stop me from dialing this code? Also, does the fact that I'm on cm12 and not on touchwiz stop me from using this?
& I have no password on my phone and there was no ro.securestorage.support ... I found this "ro.wifi.channels=" if that helps?

BTW in your wifi setting there is no proxy ? did you try to delete settings and do a new one?

If you updated bootloader then you can't go back to kitkat roms. Only the 5.0 lollipop roms. But Samsung hasn't released the official update in all countries.
If it still doesn't work, even with official firmware, then it might be hardware related. Maybe even your wifi router.

If it always reboots when you battery is low, then it's your battery that needs to be replaced.
not always when battery is low
The reboot problem occurs any time....when the battery is around 30 it switch off n then i hv to charge again to start it
Still sounds like battery voltage fluctuating, hence your issues. Come back once you've tried new battery.

Take a look: HERE.
Hello everyone,
Recently I upgraded my S8 from oreo (romania orange version) to pie (unbranded).
The phone was never rooted or odin flashed before, also the flash was successful.
My issue is that after the flash my battery is worse, my SOT is now 3 hours instead of the usual 4.
I tried discharging the phone until 5% and charging it back to 100% while being off, after it was full I started it and disconnected the charger.
I am writing now from that charge, an my SOT is back to 4 hours + .
I think the reason for this is because when i flashed the phone my battery wasn't fully charged, please advise me what to do.

Sometimes after flashes it takes a few days for a fresh flash to settle down. Flashing whole not charged shouldn't have anything to do with it.
I've been hearing stories of people with bad battery life on pie

You cant technicly downgrade. The bootloader whichever revision you on. Must remain the same. You can install any bootloader revision nougat roms yes so yes technicly yes you can downgrade the system.
That being said. Since we have locked bootloaders we cannot modify so knox never gets tripped. I mean im sure there is a way to do it but as i know of not been tripped on US based snapdragons yet
So if you follow the safestrap method you can down grade system and install a nougat bootloader or oreo. And not trip knox as they are stock
