Phone keeps shutting down after software update

Hi
Since upgrading my firmware from Gingerbread to ICS,, my phone keeps shutting down at times, possibly when battery goes below 40%.
I upgraded radio to...14.04.28M from 26, still the same probelm
it started when upgraded to IceColdSandwich-8.4.AOKP-signed from RunnyDrOiD_v2.0_By_PVTeam.
any help will be appreciated

After it shuts down try getting immediately to recovery and running "adb pull /process/last_kmsg" . Otherwise run an RUU.

So I take it the problem lies in HBOOT?

yes i also think that HBOOT makes problems..
i tried to flash stock rom which encountered error and closed after updating HBOOT...
try to get newer like HBOOT-2.00.0027 ...

also, tried to use fastboot commander to flash Hboot, even though it says it's been successful, but it is still the same Hboot.

No good, I'm afraid
went back to stock, but when I test it (taking pictures with flash on) it shuts down.
I cnahged / upgrade the radio, changed the Hboot, went back to froyo, but the problem is still there.
any ideas?

Question: Is this problem related to battery?
The phone crashes only when I receive calls when batter low
or when I take a photo through camera with flash on.
It only happened when I changed ROM. and changing ROMs has not fixed the problem for me.

i have the similar problems....
but theres no specific reason for it to shut down or reboot.....
phone will work without any reboot for max 2 days.....
there may be a reboot with in 2 days..............and it may shut down automatically and i need to pull out the battery to restart it again...
changing the rom even to ARHD wont resolve the problem..........
anybody have any ideas ????????

If changing ROMs doesn't fix it then it maybe an app or you OC/UV settings. Could also be the way your flashing or your sdcard

tried uv -----didnt help....
superwiped b4 every rom change--no help...
app----no way.....no new apps i downloaded ....all the aps were same as i used 2 months back before using ics....
but i suspect one app F secure - anti virus, but it worked fine before changing into ics.... ]
sd card-bought new one ....\formatted also.........

Use latest RUU and see if it still happens.

I strongly recommend that you get a logcat and post it. No guarantees that someone will help you, of course, but it'll increase the chances, since it's a solid way to get some hard information.

Here's my Log recorded just before phone got crashed.

Anything at all!

Disappointing, no help at all
I'm just going to post updates , maybe somebody decides to help.
- Used Set CPU to change setting to min, as some suggetsed. but no change
- interesting thing is that when photos are taking without flash on, no problems, but as soon as flash is on, the phone crashes
- also some people said battery might need replacing, I don't think this is correct as it only happens as soon as I upgraded the software.

Problem with my new galaxy s4 freezing and rebooting

Hi all
I just bought a new galaxy s4 since the first start the screen freeze and the device reboot it self, I didn't install any app on it, I didn't even finish configuring the device, I was able to finish first startup configuration after 15 time of freezing and rebooting on me at different steps or times, I did hard reset and I downloaded the latest software update, nothing seems to fix it
I'm sure it's a software issue since I tested it's hardware
can anyone help me with a possible solution to that problem ?!?!?!

Which firmware are you in?
try to flash a MGA firmware using odin and then reset the device from ur setting and all should be fine

That would avoid the warranty wouldn't it ?!?!

No, takes about 1,5 hrs to download unless you get a premium hotfile acccount.

Get it exchanged.. I cant remember a time where I purchased and started rebooting on its own that quickly.

I have the same problem. Phone freezes then restarts around 15 times a day. Help !
PS :I'm still on official software. I tried reflashing its official firmware via odin and the problem persists.

did you try to wipe data and cache??

I'm pretty sure you both have a hardware issue. Freezing and rebootung sounds like probs with the CPU. As the problem where since first start, there sholdn't be a hindering getting it exchanged...

I agree. If it's happening straight out of the box send it back for replacement. Seems like hardware fault to me.

Yes I tried to wipe data and cache multiple times.
I bought it from a store 2 months ago and I don't think they offer warranty like Samsung stores. I will try to tell the seller that the phone has manufacturing defect and maybe he would replace it .

Same thing. This is a replacement for the first phone that suddenly died (didn't power on anymore). First one before it died, worked flawlessly. I didn't reboot it for weeks. This new one reboots 10 times a day on it own.

If u need any firmware pls:
1. Tell me model of phone (i9500, i9505)
2. If is branded or no to one phone company
3. Android 4.2.2 or 4.3
4. Where are u from?

If you get random reboots the phone freezes up without no reason and while booting the phone it hangs on the samsung logo get your Battery exchanged asap.
Samsung acknowledged to have shipped a bad series of batteries serial starting with BD
you can exchange them under waranty
other symptoms you can encounter is that the phone is rebooting during incomming calls/sms and a huge battery drain before reboot you are at 80% after you only have 20% or less left
you can also check if the battery is swells up.
replace this battery asap because it can explode and for your sake I hope this does not happen to you and especially when the phone is in one pf the pockets of your pants (have to be carefull for your childsupport )

Samsung galaxy j5 won't turn on.

Hi guys, I have a rooted samsung galaxy j5 model (J500h) and last night I was playing game using Xmod. Suddenly its screen got Black. I removed the battery, inserted it again, charged it, tried to do it in recovery, safe mode, and download mode, but no mode appears. Please suggest me any help.

Battery dead? Did you try flashing a stock rom on it? Did you try to do a full wipe?

First my phone was rooted. An error "custom binary blocked by FAP" occured and then i unrooted by going to download mode and again inserting the stock os. it was upto 900mb of stock os. pnce unrooted i again rooted it and then i was using it at night and its screen display went out. Don't know what happened. No display. No vibration. Nothing. Plzz help.

Was phone first hand or second hand? Some guys sell u phone's with a phones outside hardware but the inside is completely fake

It was internal problem with my motherboard. Got a new motherboard for my phone in warranty.

This is scary... Is it possible that rooting might have had an impact on the motherboard? I'm asking this because I casually test different roms and kernels and tweaks once a few days and I don't want my device to have your fate...

Extremely unlikely rooting or any kind of software modification could cause hardware to fail.
It's purely a coincidence.

Alright! So far I have been flashing things in a day more than any normal human would need : ))))

But that problem was at the time when i had stock rom not rooted. I am currently running a rooted j5 5.1.1 not upgraded to 6.0.1 and it is working perfectly fine. I also have changed the stock boot animation but nothing lags. No errors. All Ok !

I don't think root coused this issue, a friend of mine got same problem and phone was stock, it started to be very hot and suddenly dead

yureka plus stuck at yu logo BUT REBOOTS SUCCESSFULLY AFTER CONNECTING CHARGER.HELP!!

I'm facing issue on my Yureka+...I was on RR 5.8.0...(well it already had random reboots issue but it used to reboot successfully without getting stuck at yu logo)...I flashed gladiator 4.5 and everything worked well but after some time my phone got stuck at yu logo...it used to vibrate and display yu logo...no boot animation(was working when I connecedt charger)..so I clean flashed RR(without any kernel)..at first it rebooted properly(went through initial setup without any problem) then suddenly my phone rebooted and got stuck at yu logo again n again...(works fine when I connect charger...no random reboots)...I then flashed CrDroid2.1...but same problem is there it gets stuck at you logo after random reboots....connecting charger solves the issue...I can boot into recovery...can anyone help me?...is it the kernels fault?..I had just flashed the kernel...didn't do any other kernel setting as I don't know ...what should I do? Please Help!

I'm having same problem, I was on quarkos 2.0, after that flashed RR 5.8.1. phone started without charger. I think it might be battery problem.

at least once you will come out of bootloop and random reboots

i think thats hardware issue..because before facing this issue...too heat was generated near by camera and then my phone gone to auto reboot + bootloop..now if i flash my phone with any rom even stock rom, phone only open for hardly 1-2 min. my battery is ok.
i think inside some circuit problem is there. its been 1yr 10 month first time this handset has troubled me.

I had the same issue, I changed my battery and now it's is working fine.

I don't think its a battery issue because I have two batteries, both were working fine, suddenly both giving same results. if its a battery issue then the phone shouldn't run anytime after disconnecting charger, but works fine after reboot.

two days ago I came across the same issue, It's not a big problem I changed the battery and now its working fine.............

battery draining

Guys from 2-4 days my motog4 is not charging more than 11% and after removing the charger the battery is draining very fast i think this started after the recent software update of my mobile ,but i cant understand the problem i don't use turbo charger and im using normal usb charging since 4 months but this problem started frm 4 days...! Pls help my fone is still switched off and charging

Have you a g4 or g4 plus? Unlocked bootloader? Installed twrp recovery? Custom rom or stock rom? Any mods installed?

I have moto g4+ and nope nothing is installed cauz i don't know much abt these stuff

Backup your stuff, do a factory reset and see if it helps. Maybe something went wrong with the update.
