Make sure you get the 10w version. I didn't, and it's limited to old school 1a charging. I use my regular car charger anyway, and only use it for the magnetic mount, paired with their case so I can charge it wirelessly on my other pad at home without taking it out of the case. Their charger does come with a u-shaped magnet that you can use on any phone/case that will line up with the spread out magnets on their charger and still not interfere with the wireless charging. Be aware though, that if you use their own case brand, the way it lines up when on the charger will cover up the fingerprint sensor so you won't be able to unlock it by reaching your finger around while it's mounted.

I have the slightly older version of that charger. Got it for my s7. It worked fine for the S7, but my S9+ was too heavy to stay on with those magnets. I ended up putting in 10 2mm magnets inside and that made up for the extra weight. takes a pretty serious bump to knock it off the charger now (and I work in construction and go to some pretty rough places).

Im using the Spigen Neo Hybrid, im not sure what your 'x shape magnet' is. Im using the 2 strips of metal that came with the charger.

Is it safe to assume that an 8525 case will fit the Tilt the same ?
I'm looking for a pouch-type case.
Thanks,
DLD
I have alot of experience with Gizmoskin.com i have had 4 of their cases for different phones.
I got the treo 750 case, which is within a mm on each side.
its awesome. I love their cases, secure, slim and ratcheting clip - the leather is TOP quality.
there is a little play at at the top of the case as far as fit, but it doesn't bother me and there is no worry of the phone falling out or anything, but it has some freedom to shift in the case.
FYI, the standard shipping is REALLY slow - to florida it can take like a good 2 weeks, cause they ship from canada. On the other hand, with overnight, ordered on thurs, shipped friday, at my house monday before 9 am. Pricey, but, it was there.
Good Luck!
fyi, with the case set horizontally, the phone feels like it weighs nothing. I wear alot of gym/ basketball shorts that have no strong waist support and it does not pull it out at all. i'm super happy.

Thread moved to Kaiser accessories.
nobody knows if the 8525 cases fit the kaiser properly ?
dld
It fits, but the TYTN2 is smaller. I use a SP6 Pouch Case and its fine.
I'm using a leather pouch case with a strong, rotating, belt clip I got at Best Buy that is intended for the Treo 650. Since the 650 is no longer available the case was reduced from $29.99 to $8.99 and it's a perfect fit.
yes, it fits. I'm using my TyTN case with my Kaiser (Tilt). the Kaiser is a bit narrower so not as tight a fit but it works.
I am also looking for a horizontal case with a belt clip for the Kaiser. Most of what I have seen so far are generics that fit 'most devices'.
Thinking about Vaja ...

I'm still laughing at myself...check it out...a large binder clip makes a great display stand with charging functionality. Just pull off the squeezing clips after you clamp down on the USB plug. It's actually pretty stable too. I'm sure you could even velcro it to your desk for more stability

F**k me! That's great!
Can't beat that.... +1
nice, now if only my girlfriend would let me make a hole in the desk to make it look built-in!!
excellent...works perfect!
ha just did it, thanks!
As clever as it is,... be prepared to find a replacement socket for your phone after a while. The connector can not handle the stress of supporting it's own weight for very long.
You should try to find a way to support the phone along with the plug-in.
This is, however, a good start to a generic cradle.
Fun find!

the phone rests on the clip... what you talking about?
What about front to back movement?
Subtle movment wears on the connector circuit board.
thats what i mean... the front and back of mine rests on the clip. i have the rubberized snap case on so maybe my fitment is different.
I have just bought the clip and the "poor´s guy cradle"is just great! no problems here. Great idea!
Amazing found !!!

I will pay you $5 for this brilliant item!!!
Thinking outside the box. Great idea. As far as wear and tear, I think as long as you make sure you are putting the weight on the paper clip and not the device I wouldn't think there would be any problems even long term? I would go the extra length to cover the metal around the clip with something, wouldn't be hard, I don't like anything metal touching my phone. Heck, I haven't even set my phone down on a hard surface yet in fear the back diamond points will wear.
My only question right now is: I wonder how good it would work if I clipped in the dongle so I can have earphones connected for radio, and still charge it through ac, hmm and what would happen if you plug in the usb cable to the side of the dongle? Would you still be able to access it from a computer while its charging through ac or no?
Just did this mod.. Works great... Using the "handles" squeezed into the base works to stabilize the phone better when pulling it off the charging station . I will need to find some simple padding to rest the weight of the phone since it floats a bit over the clip..
... and I always thought I'm CHEAP ...
Hi Team,
Where can we buy Motorola DEFY In Car Holder in India? If it is not available what is the best alternative that fits perfectly. I do not want those 300-400 Rs. Universal ones made of low quality plastic.
Any help is appreciated.
Why do you want a holder made specifically for the Defy?
If it's for automatically getting into car mode, there are easier and less expensive ways to obtain. You just need a thin, strong magnet (from a 2.5" HDD for example).

I mainly use it for GPS so am looking for a neat n compact holder. Auto docking mode an all not my requirements

I've bought something very similar to the holder in picture 1 for some 3$.
After I used it for a while glued to the windshield, I decided to give up on the arm, glued a piece of L-shaped metal sheet to the holder, and shoved in a crack in the dashboard (pic 1, horizontal "crack" below the air vents).
It works like a charm and it was very cheap. Not the best quality plastic, but it's holding on after more than a year of moderate use.
PS: If you want pictures with the actual holder (for inspiration), I'd be happy to provide tomorrow.

Got this from ebay and attached a small magnet at the back side to enable my Defy to detect it. This is not original but a compact good one.

It costed me Rs.460 and it was home delivered thru Post just by ordering it thru eBay. By Neck if you mean the hinge which helps in 360 degree rotation of the holder then Yes it has the neck.

So I have the nexus 4 wireless charger that google is selling. On my nexus 4 I have a seidio active case with kickstand. I cant seem to get the charger to charge the phone. I put the phone in the middle of the charger and it does show its charging but then when I wake up in the morning the phone is at like 61%. Do u think the case could be causing the issue? I think maybe the kickstand is to thick. Seidio dont make one without the kickstand.
I would take the case off. I have the orb too & it charges fine with no case. I have a poetic bumper, but that leaves the back open so it still charges with it on. I would imagine taking off the case will work.

I figured that would work but thats a hassle really. I think im going to find a new case. I really need a case that includes a holster like seidio does.
Mine charges fine with Seidio Active and Convert cases. You just have position it right -- not in the middle, but slide the phone up some until the kickstand part is almost resting on the charging surface of the orb. And make sure both surfaces are clean so that it sticks and doesn't slide down during the night. I've been using mine on my night stand for over a week now, with the case on, and haven't had any problems.

How far up is the kick stand on the orb? Mind taking a pic of how u have it placed?
I can when I get home from work -- around 4pm eastern time.

Okay thanks.
I remembered wrong. The kickstand part has to be up far enough that it's resting on the inner ring. You can even have it higher up than in the picture and it'll still charge -- same for the Convert case which is twice as thick.

So i tired it last night and raised it bit higher then your pic and it only charged to 78%. I give up on this qi wireless charging.
I've been using the battery case for a bit and have put it through its paces. It definitely isn't as bulky as 10k mAh battery packs in the past and I would consider that a positive. It gives more than a full charge, and can easily get me an extreme day of nonstop usage.
What it does lack is the ability to fast charge. It takes approximately 2 hours to charge my phone through the case, and the battery case itself takes closer to 4 hours for a complete charge. It's what I would consider an overnight charging situation if you want to top up both the phone and the case.
I've tried charging it wirelessly with my Samsung Qi charger and it works without issue, but the NFC function does not work through this case. If you're using contactless payment options, you'll need to remove it. USB-C audio is also not supposed by this case. You'll have to go wireless.
The phone slips in and out of the case easily by simply bending the top part of the TPU case back and sliding the phone in. Contrary to past battery cases with larger capacities, it doesn't feel like the USB-C port will break - like it did with my Note 8. It slides in and out like butter.

The battery case will double the weight of your phone. You're looking at a good 12.1 ounces with the case on. This is not something I'm concerned about as it is to be expected with a battery case. It's not too bad unless you're wearing skinny jeans.
Android Auto works flawlessly with the case. There's no additional lag or connection problems connecting it to my car's infotainment system.
The battery case is also fully compatible with DEX and file transfer while the phone is in the case. I didn't experience any difference while using the battery case.
The case itself does not give much front lip protection for face-down placement. There is enough to separate it from the face of the table, but you won't be getting any rugged case lip protection. The TPU is stiff and thick enough for a small drop but it's not a drop-tested case by any measure, especially on the top area, so don't expect too much in this area.
Cutouts for the ports, speakers, mics, etc., are on point. Strangely enough, the cutouts are actually even more accurate than the ones on my UAG Plasma case. The battery case also does not impede the use of any of the cameras or the flash.
While it does lack NFC, and audio through USB-C support, I have no qualms using it for those days where I'm on my phone like it's a marathon.
about how much extra battery life are you seeing from this?
5000mah battery will get you what 60-70% charge once you factor in the transfer loss?
How much this battery cost?
