I've recently purchased a No. 1 D7 because it supposedly had NFC support. I've sideloaded apps such as NFC Check by Tapkey, Check NFC and NFC enabled. All of these apps report that NFC is "not enabled", "Unsupported" or "NFC Module not detected".
Does NFC need to be turned on? Everything I've read indicates that any toggle for NFC would be located under "Wireless and Connections" in Android settings. But, the No. 1 D7 runs FunOS (an Android variant) and there is no such setting. The only sections are "Internet Connections" and "Wireless & networks". There is no NFC toggle under these sections.
I did notice the "Mobile networks" is grayed out under "Wireless & networks" because I currently do not have a SIM inserted. I'm wondering if the NFC toggle may be under that section. Does NFC for this watch require a SIM card to be installed?
I'm attempting to use the No. 1 D7 smartwatch to read NFC tags but nothing happens when I hold a written tag against the watch. The same NFC tag causes other NFC devices to respond, if only an audible tone. Also, nothing happens when I hold one of those other NFC enabled devices such as a Samsung S7 next to the D7 smartwatch.
So, does the No. 1 D7 actually have NFC? Or, could it be a non-standard specialty implementation of NFC that's limited to applications such as certain door locks or their Pure NFC app?

I just found an old Nano SIM card and inserted it. The No. 1 D7 smartwatch detects the SIM card and the correct carrier but there are still no new NFC options under "Mobile networks" or "Wireless & networks". And, it also still doesn't react to written NFC tags. So, I don't think the SIM card has any effect on the NFC function.
I'm wondering whether this watch really has NFC. Is there any other way to tell? Is there anyway to generate an installed hardware report or something like that? Has anyone else used NFC with this watch?

I have had the same issue,i bought the smartwatch specifically because it had this feature but upon arrival every app that uses NFC will prompt me with a window telling me that my device does not support NFC.

have 2 ATT Arias and have not inserted SIM or activated yet.
Using home WiFI and enabling Google location and GPS it does find my location correctly but does not allow me to select my current location from the list of cities.
The main menu shows "My Location" and GMT timezone code offset is correct.
Is this a function of unlocking the phone or something only the SIM chip accomplishes?
Recently I changed my standard SIM card for an NFC enabled SIM card. After the change I started to notice some strange behaviour of the phone during boot. As long as the NFC function of the system is enabled the phone reboots normally and I am presented with a standard prompt to enter my SIM's PIN number. However when I disable NFC and reboot or turn off the phone and boot it up again the SIM is not visible in the system as if it was not connected. If I enable NFC function shortly after such reboot the SIM starts to be visible and I am presented with the PIN prompt.
I am on stock 5.0.1. Any non NFC enabled SIM card works without issues in my phone. The NFC enabled SIM works in other phones without issues. NFC function works without problems even the payment card placed on the NFC SIM is operational. It seams this is a software issue not a hardware one.
Anybody have any idea what can be the cause of this behaviour?

why would you want to use nfc enabled sim? what do you use it for? the phone already has nfc, maybe the sim is not compatible?
NFC enabled SIM is used as a secure element. It is holding my payment card info. It does not replace NFC radio of the phone. Other than that it is a standard SIM offered by many operators.

ahh ok, it could just be incompatible with TW OS
I recently upgraded from Marshmallow to N (7.0.0), and cannot see the WiFi Calling settings at all in Settings>More under Wireless & Networks. I see Airplane mode, NFC, Android Beam, Tethering & portable hotspot, VPN, and Cellular networks, in that order. I am on a rooted stock rom. Has anyone else experienced this? For the record, I was not able to see this feature on Marshmallow either, and upgraded to see if it would become available for me on N.
it's in the phone>settings>calls
Thank you so much - this is now working for me on 7.0.0
Does this setting auto hide if the carrier doesn't support it? I'm on GoPhone and I don't see that.
Is there an ADB command to get this enabled on the 6P? The carrier has told me they are only covering some but not all handsets and have said that the WiFi calling feature has been turned on in my account but its not showing up on the phone under calls? Is there a command line to make this appear?
I am having the same problem. It is hidden in my handset, whereas before nougat it was there, even though technically my device isn't supported. Can adb help? Thanks.
I have an LG Leon LTE as a spare phone, I don't normally use Android, I don't have my SIM card in the Leon, I don't plan to really use it for much of anything (got it as part of a "switch to tmobile and we'll pay out your contract" thing). But I want to use the NFC chip in it. It supposedly supports NFC, but when I go to settings -> share & connect, there's no "turn on NFC" setting. The only thing that shows up is "LG PC Suite."
What gives? How do I turn on NFC if my phone supposedly supports it but it doesn't show up? Does it have to do with not having the SIM in it, because that doesn't make much sense since NFC isn't related to cell service...
I'm on 5.1.1 system software.
Hello,
under dual sim management i set "always ask" for voice call and sms.
If i disable SIM 2, the selection goes to SIM 1 and i lost "always ask" setting when i turn SIM 2 on again.
I'm using 8.1 version. How can i address this issue to development or check if it's present under a bug tracker list ?
Thanks and regards
