When i connect my phone to my ps3 through media server i am able to play music but not movies. I put the movie on a hard drive and my ps3 recognozes it and plays the movie. Was wondering if anyone knew what my problem could be?
The media sever video functionality is not too great.I managed to play videos in my PS3 but they were laggy or they played out of sync.

Checkout BubbleUPnP in the Google Play market. BubbleUPnP is certified DNLA software that allows your Nexus 7 to stream to other DNLA devices like the PS3 and Xbox over your WiFi network.
Have fun!

The Xbox isn't DLNA certified, it uses a Mircosoft proprietary version, which is why it sucks badly in format support compared to the PS3.
http://www.dlna.org/consumer-home/look-for-dlna/product-search
Only the PS3 has DLNA certification.

This is correct and as indicated it's BubbleUPnP that is DNLA certified.
That being said, BubbleUPnP does a decent job streaming to my Xbox from my Rezound and Nexus 7.
Have fun!

So basically, all i want to do is stream my mkv's to my windows 8 tablet.
Would be awesome if there was a plex client in development for the store. I did try an app called media8? But has limited file/codec support (but did detect my plex media server).
Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm thinking of getting a chromecast dongle for my tv and just wanted to check some info first.
1. I want to wireless send video to my TV
2. I use showbox & mobdro and mxplayer will these work and is it smooth?
3. Will it also wireless play audio from poweramp?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Kev

I think in general you're barking up the wrong tree. The way chrome cast works is it pulls content directly from the Internet. What you're describing is like Apple Air Play (or some such thing).
Chrome cast is great, but really your device acts like a controller, that's why only certain apps are supported, because the chrome cast has to run them "onboard" so to speak. I use it with Netflix a lot.
Hope that helps.

Never tried poweramp but showbox will stream to it. Just make sure youe media player is allcast or Avia. Never had an issue with either or showbox

Good morning
I bought Shield TV today.
I linked this with TV and tried to see an educational app.
But my educational app will refuse HDMI connection to prevent capture.
To view the shield TV, I need to connect HDMI, but the application rejects it.
Is there a way to use the app?
Is there any trick that seems HDMI is not connected?
I have a custom ROM installed and I have the routing.

What app is it that you're trying to use? It's funny because HDMI is generally hard to capture to a video input.

Hmm hopefully one of the other members gets in here. I don't run a custom ROM. So does the app have a message that appears when you launch it?

Shield TV both basic and custom ROM do not work.
The error message is as follows.
"Please remove HDMI cable and try again."
Just another thought, try run it on your phone and cast to shield tv and record the HDMI output.
P.s. I can run it on my HTC 10 and cast to shield tv, and then use shield tv to capture the screen output
There is a xposed module called "skycast", which exactly is, what you are looking for. Search for it...
I havent rooted my shield and have no idea, if xposed is working on android tv. And there is still no xposed framework for Android 7.x.
