The only answer you will find on XDA is that you need to get ahold of the seller and get a refund
WE for the most part do not talk about black listed phones

Hello there,
I have a question that might have already been answered, but I cannot find it !
Maybe should be pinned
Well, My S4 (SGH-I337M) from Telus has burnt during night. The USB plug too in fire and the cable melt in the plug !
So I contacted Samsung directy bypassing Telus becasue this issue is serious...
I wanted them to send me a S5 since my S4 was still on waranty and believe it or not, I am afraid to plug it now !
It charges 1 foot away from my face and took in fire at that distance !!
Well anyway, Samsung sent me a new S4 said to be unlocked !
I sell it yesterday brand new in the box, but before the person pay me, I opened the case and test it to see if it was really unlocked and it ws not !!!! DAMN !
So I just contacted Samsung again (the was I was chatting with) and he asked me the model and IMEI so that he will send me a unlock code !
So my question is, will this code be permenent ?
The one buying my phone will be able to reboot it, charge provider, update it with no issues ?
Or I will have to give him the code and he will ne to enter it every now and then ?
If not permenent, anyway to make it permenent without rooting the phone ?
version 4.4.2
Thank you very much,
Martin L.
It should be permanent..the only time he would have to put it in again is if he switches carriers and sims
HTC ONE M8?

Ok good thank you very much.
I tested 2 other Sims (S4 originaly with Telus, I tried Bell and Rogers) and never asked for the code again.
And did the update, still did not ask !!
That is perfect
Not the same thing when we buy a code ?
well having a European locked samsung galaxy S5 over a month with me ... i could not find a reliable and working solution on internet.
after finding few success stories in this web i decided to pay £20 on www.fastgsm.com and buy a code .i received my code within 15 mins and received NCK, MCK and RGCK code types with the mail. my region lock is finally off!!! if you don have money to spent like that i would recommend you mail samsung Romania, Austria and Germany regarding this as they are very helpful about samsung products! on the other hand i would like to say UK samsung Customer service is utter **** as my poor brother who bought this from UK walked from store to store asking for a code and all they said was 'we cant provide such a code sir'. many people have received their codes for UK bought samsung equipment from other European customer service centers ( search this section ).
so in short if you dont have money and have a genuinely bought samsung galaxy S5 with the invoice ,mail Samsung Help Germany ,Austria and Romania as they never disappoint you! UK customer share is full of posers!
or else use www.fastgsm.com and please use their instructions before you order within seconds
disclaimer - i am not a member or a worker oF fastgsm.com or another website which is related to mobile unlocking . and if you ARE TO BUY A CODE FROM THIS MENTIONED WEBSITE .. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK BECAUSE ME OR xda-developers.com WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR INTERFERE IN ANY CASE IF A CODE DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU! THAT YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE RELEVANT WEBSITE . CODES I RECEIVED WORKED FOR ME PERFECTLY AND WANTED TO SHARE THIS BECAUSE I KNOW THE PAIN OF HAVING A SHINY NEW PHONE LYING IN A DRAWER! PLEASE USE THE THANK YOU BUTTON AS I AM A NEW MEMBER .. OR ASK ANY QUESTIONS AS I WILL TRY TO HELP OR ANSWER YOU GUYS WITH MY BEST.PEACE!!!! and best of luck!

I figured it was illegal after reading some posts and looking at the item on ebay more. Thanks alot for the reply. Cheers
You can get prison for that. It's illegal for a reason, otherwise every thief who nicks a phone would just go to a phone shop somewhere and get a new IMEI.
My relative bought an s7 edge for me from Saudi Arabia (I live in India). When I opened the box, the seal said it's locked to Middle East sim cards and I was not aware of that. I then found out that you have to place a 5 min call using a local sim or you could give it to a service centre to get it unlocked. But since it had a defect (Black spot on screen), I gave it to my relative to get it repaired back in Saudi Arabia and also to get the call placed.
He'll be back next week. But my question is, if I ever want to do a factory reset, will I have to place the 5 min call again? I searched the internet for hours but could not get a definite answer. Also do I have to do the same if I flash another country's firmware?
Thanks in Advance

Before returning the phone to India ask your relative to check if it has actually been unlocked by inserting an Indian sim card into the phone.
Once unlocked you'll never have to be worried about it, the phone works just as any other unlocked phone works. You can change to any other regions firmware or wipe your phone using a pit file it'll not bother you ever again.
Thanks.

So i bought a S8 plus off ebay back in January 2018 and I just found out the person who sold it to me stopped paying for it this week. So now my IMEI number is blocked and eBay and T-Mobile won't help me.
If I root the phone would it unlock the IMEI number?
The model is G955F Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955U)

No take your recept and go to your local police as the sellar sold you property that was not his or hers to sell. We do not discuss blacklisted imei fixing on XDA this is the best advice you will get here. It sucks when people do this crap and they outha be slapped in the mouth. Tmobile wont help other than either you pay it off or nothing. You should be able to go in your ebay history and get your recepit...
yeah i kind of figured this out.
Ebay told me to email their police reinforcement team because i stopped using the term they stopped paying for their phone instead used they sold me a stolen phone. guess i need to print out my receipt and file a report. maybe i can atleast get the person who sold it to me banned.
