I have had the same trouble. Seems to be something with the USB cable. I have one cable with a blue led in and that cable does not charge the phone. The light on the phone stays on and the batti monitor says charging, but it's draining the battery. A second cable is even more strange, it starts charging for 1-2 minutes, then the phone stops charging and says I have a missing sim.... reboot the phone and it works great again. Bot this cable have been tested with the original SE USB charger and my iPhone USB charger. Same thing with both adapters.
What's even more strange is that both USB cables work great with my Qtek 9100 and my 2,5" USB drives.
When I connected the original USB cable to one of the adapters and the phone it's charging normaly. I realy don't know why this is so...

Usb file transfer not working onTab A6 with s pen

no computer recognizes the tablet. no notification or warning when usb is connected to pc. only charging .
i also noticed that the tablet does not charge when its off. but charges fine when switched on. what can i do to resolve thsi issue
It should charge regardless on or off. Use this tool, it will tell you tablet is drawing current properly, the charging current should be around 1.5 Amps with working USB cable and charger.

USB connector has separated pins for data and charging. So it's normal if a tablet can charge but not data transfer or vice versa.
USB connector is cheap, only around 50 cents but you should know how to solder. A repair shop may charge you more than $50 to replace this 50 cents USB connector.
It takes only 5 to 10 minutes to change the USB port.

Mi A1 not charging from Nintendo Switch USB-C AC adapter

Hi! A while ago I decided to try out to charge my Mi A1 with the official Nintendo Switch AC adapter (EU plug). In theory, it should've worked just fine, because the adapter supports 5V 1.6A power output (it says so on the adapter itself) alongside with the Switch-specific 15V 2.6A output. So basically it would've just started charging normally.
However every time I plug the Switch charger into my Mi A1 my phone indicates that it's charging for half a second, but then the charging stops and the Switch AC adapter stops working completely until you unplug it from the mains and plug it in again. It happens everytime and I've noticed this behaviour on Android 7 and 8.
I tried charging a USB-C Samsung phone and that worked perfectly fine. However another Xiaomi phone with USB-C also stopped charging after half a second with the Switch adapter having to be unplugged from the mains to start functioning again. What may be wrong? Has anyone experienced this problem with a Nintendo Switch adapter?

Maybe it only uses 15V 2.6A, too much for our device (maybe a custom kernel can change it in the future) and both stop working (the phone and the charger) preventing some damages...

I doubt magnetic cable would help but of course you should try.
Maybe an internal cable is broken.
Did you try other cables?
How old is the battery?
Battery is only 2 to 3 months old I think its charging jacket is working then it should charge it the malfunction is in Micro USB Cable does not in function Alright!
change the cable
