Hi,
Just would like to solicit input and feedback. i went over to my brother's house over the weekend and connected to his internet via wifi. so as not to reconnect time and again, i left my unit connected to the internet via wifi then wall(ac power) charge while doing this. after we eat dinner, i went back to check my unit only to find out it was not charged at all. worst the temp was very high. it is only in my unit or did anybody experience the same thing? is this normal?
Well, it's not normal however was the charging led on or did you just not see an improvement in the percentage?
I'm seeing similar behaviour with my atom life. I've only had it a couple of days so I'm playing a lot and I would exoect fairly poor battery life because of that but even so it seems very short... I've noticed that when I put the device to charge in my car the charging icon shows on the today screen for a few seconds but then disappears and the battery doesn't get charged. It seems that if any wireless connection is on (even bluetooth), it doesn't charge. I'm not sure which is that charging LED? Is it a red one that lights up in the silver grille at the top?
I use a bluetooth receiver for tomtom and a bluetooth handsfree kit so I'm hoping this behaviour isn't by design...
i use atom life.
if overhead can not charge. normaly?

i didn't notice the led i immediately pull it out because it has gotten so hot. hottest i have notice/felt. it might damage the device due to prolong exposure to high temperature. there was no improvement on the percentage. as i have mentioned it didn't charge.
I had the "not charging with WiFi on" problem...until yesterday. Upgrading my Atom Life to the latest MWG ROM (see the Atom Upgrade forum for a how-to) fixed that right away. Now I can even charge in the cradle I bought from eBay with only a regular charger connected. Earlier it had to be connected to the PC to work, and regular chargers had to be connected directly to the Atom, not via the cradle. I'm a happy puppy!
try to change your batt.. maybe problem with batt
No, it's not a battery problem. This is a firmware problem, because I have five batteries (at times I take long ski trips without any possibilities of charging), and it was exactly the same with all of them, but with the MWG ROM I have no such problems with any of them.
Hello,
Today there went somthing wrogn with my sgs2. The battery is not being charged. I have tried few chargers but without success. Now it is powering up showing info the battery is over and turnes off. After few minutes it is again powering up and after few seconds powering off :/
I think I have to sent it to warranty service or is it any other way I can check it?
I'm not sure if it is battery problem or phone problem.
It started yesterday when my phone showed some strange message like it has been used in car (wheel icon on top).
Well guys this is totally weird.
It started charging properly when I connected it to USB cable from USB hub.
What I observed is that when battery is below 25% all the problems are happening and I cannot use normal charger. When I charge it above 30% then normal charger also begins to work without any problem.
Maybe it is software related?
It might be the 650ma limit for charging is messed up or your chargers are not meeting the requirements.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
Greetings. I'm new to these forums though I have visited numerous times to find fixes to various issues. I have rooted my Note 3 with towel root and now have Lollipop 5.0 rooted installed. I was hoping to install the Xposed framework in order to finally be able to kill the screen turning on with wireless charging problem. I wake up at night to my phone screen turning on and off as it cycles through charging and charge full notifications. I have installed "Headsoff" app which has killed the issue with wired charging and does prevent the sound notification with wireless charging but the screen still turns on. I also installed "App Ops," went into System UI and turned off Post notification per someone elses recommendation. Again, this seems to only apply to the wired screen on with charge function. When I tried to install Xposed framework, I learned it won't install on Android 5 without writing new code in the OS? This seems highly technical and risky to me as I am not that savvy with writing code. I have searched the forums and find many postings complaining about this problem and the best fix seems to install Xposed which seems hard to do with Android 5. I would greatly appreciate any input about how to solve this. Perhaps going with a custom ROM? Any recommendations? Thanks.
Developer options ON?

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I've already tried that and have confirmed the "stay awake" fnt in developer options is turned off. Also, this is only happening with wireless charging. I have a wireless charge base next to my bed and also have one in my car. If I bypass wireless and directly hook up the cable, I have no problems. Very frustrating.
I am still hoping for help with this problem. I have searched and just don't find an obvious fix. I keep waking up to my display lighting up briefly. Once it starts, it cycles every few minutes; on/off. I don't know for sure but think it is the charge full/wireless charging cycle. It doesn't buzz or make noise as I have killed the sound notification. However; I can find no way to prevent the display from turning on. I found an app called "Screen Stay Off" which is supposed to prevent this. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. It causes the screen to flicker on/off rapidly, then the screen turns on and stays on. Frustrating. I am open to using a different ROM if no other solution. Thanks.

I have an s4 with a wireless qi receiver attached to the battery terminals. It also cycles through charging/not charging and it doesn't seem to matter how full the battery is. Sometimes, it will charge for 10 minutes and then just stop charging. Removing it from the charging pad and putting it back on will not charge the phone even though the receiver is detected by the pad.
I have a qi receiver on order for my note n900w8 and hope to have better luck with that than my s4.

Thanks. I haven't noticed a problem with charging. Mine seems to get into this cycle only after it achieves full charge. Then the "full charge" notification comes. Phone stops charging and starts discharging. Then when it drops to ~ 98%, it starts charging again and I get the "wireless charging" notification. After root and going through various settings, I have killed the notifications that used to pop up; "Full charge, please disconnect the phone from the charger" and then "wireless charge detected" notifications. However, I can't prevent the display from lighting up. If changing out the wireless receiver fixes your problem, please let me know. I wasn't thinking the receiver might be the cause, but at this point, I'll give it a try. Last night I capitulated and plugged the phone in directly to the charge cable and bypassed the wireless charger. I have no issues that way. Why wireless charging functions differently is a mystery to me.
With my s4, i tried 3 different wireless pads and only two of the three would detect the receiver and charger sporadically. One of the wireless chargers was a google nexus wireless charger. Hopefully, I will have better luck with my note 3 when I get the receiver from eBay. I got two note 3 receivers with nfc from eBay but neither of those receivers would work with my sm-n900w8.
My nexus 4 and nexus 5 which have built-in wireless charging receivers, works perfectly with all three charging pads without issue. They charge fully and don't give me messages that the battery is full.
I have a question: My charger had a loose connection - it even happened up to 20 times a day. Now i installed the 'phone info' app and it says at the 'charger connections' 12074 (!!!) times. I changed the battery and it's battery life is now acceptable. My question is - if even I have changed battery - can battery life can get worse due to the amount of the charge connections?
(My english isnt the best I know lol)

Imo yes. Dont have an explanation why though. Just replace or repair the charger seems like the safest solution. Or maybe charge your phone in a stable position to reduce disconnection an reconnection.
You must be sure what is broken.
Chceck your usb cable, USB port in phone and charger.
If you'll want to change your charger then i recomend to buy orginal Samsung or Apple iPhone charger (why? both are made to be silent, their coils will not buzz).
