820 dual sim HONG KONG official OTA Marshmallow 6.0 - Desire 820 General

Hi guys, just thought I share a surprise find, last night sucessfully updated part 1 or 2, download package around 150MB or so, not too big.
Took forever to finish and scary. Started below 12 midnight, finished nearly 2AM, crazy long time.
1) download OTA
2) run and it reboots automatically into the black screen with tiny phone in middle with circle running indicating not-hang, too around 5 to 7 minutes to finish then reboots again black screen with tiny phone in middle but with slant bar process below without moving but fast, around 1 minute then reboots.
3) white screen with HTC greenish word / logo in the middle and takes very very long time, I think nearly 40 minutes. Don't shut off, don't disturb it, don't interfere the process just keep patience very important. I had power supply plugged in all the time just in case but the battery LED power charge doesn't appear. Only had 62% power and finally dropped to 50% power when finished.
4) then it shows updating apps xx over 190. took a very long time again, around 20 minutes I think, lost count of time as long as can see the number of completed apps rising sometimes very fast sometimes very very slow.
5) after complete it reboots and I thought was ready, but not, this time can swipe unlock screen but immediately white screen again with navigation button below which doesn't get to home, just white screen with HTC logo. this took another 5 minutes +++
6) then finally can use as normal.
7) click search update again and found part 2 or 2 - 1.15 GB I think. HUGE.
it's nearly 2AM over midnight, gotto sleep, battery 50% may be not enough for such a big update. Also not enough free space in storage for the process, got to clear away more non-essential apps in hope to be faster, hence tomorrow continue. Report back later when complete.
sorry above no screen shot, too tired, couldn't think straight. below report will have some screen shots.

then start download part 2 of 2

after download complete it starts around 9:14PM, so lets see if it's another whole hour.
black screen show mini phone with arrow pointing downwards and circle running non stop with progress bar showing 54% at 9:26PM
20 minutes since start only 70%.
Originally I wanted to copy the download before it starts, but wife says it reboot automatically and started by it self sorry guy.
30 minutes since start only 83%
then exactly 40 minutes later 100%, it reboots with a flash of white screen HTC logo then reboots again into a longer white screen, says optimizing xx of 54 apps. Right now I thought I lost all my apps and data and like formatted in PC.
eventually the whole thing finish at 10:06 see screen shot below. All apps and data in tact nothing was lost, phew.

[Q] Battery stuck on ?

My nook, even after charging completely, dissconnecting the power cord, and using it for hours after, always shows a ? for battery status. Under settings battery % always reads unknown.
Anyone experienced this problem? My nook is rooted (rotted?).

Although I haven't read about the BatteryManager ever returning unknown,
I'd be interested to know what the battery/charging status says in UsbMode.
This app has a group that displays all the broadcasted info on the battery.

Solved
So, I let the thing sit for weeks. Too busy with school to send it back to b&n for a reaplcement. I finally decided to deal with it, I plugged it in and in a few minutes it said battery to low to charge. I had to wait 15 minutes. So i let it charge till full. Upon booting, and unplugging, battery registered 100 percent and decresed with normal use.
In other words, let it totally run out of battery (could take weeks) then plug it in and let it fully charge.
Worked for me
I would like to confirm the OP's results. My battery started doing the question mark thing out-of-the-blue, about a month ago. I tried unrooting, restoring to factory settings, I even tried older versions of the Nook software to see if that made any difference, and nothing. I tried to drain the battery, transferring files to and from the Nook over wifi, and even when I couldn't boot from low battery, as soon as I plugged it in I got question mark battery. Being in Canada, getting my Nook replaced is a huge pain, so I left it for about a month. Pulled it out today, just for the heck of it, and I got the Not enough battery to turn on screen (which was new, when the battery was in question mark mode it would always attempt to turn on, but fail silently as soon as power was removed). I left it plugged in for a few minutes, and lo and behold it booted up and displayed the charging animation on the battery icon. I charged it to full, and it seems to be as good as new.
So, for anybody else that has this issue, the fix seems to be to let it drain for a very long time, then recharge. Shortcuts don't work, and it isn't a hardware issue that needs replacement.

[Q] Laptop sleeps when i boot it

Hey guys got an annoying feature that I cant seem to fix. If i close the lid of my laptop during shutdown, it shuts down but when I next boot it up it immediately goes to sleep again so i basically have to boot it twice. for example if i leave a antivirus scan on when i go to be and close the lid, it will shut down automatically, but on next boot up it goes to sleep and the power butting is flashing. any help is appreciated and please don't say leave the lid open!!
Here are the settings on my laptop

BTW the laptop is a new dell insprion 17r SE and this never happened on my old 17r which ran windows 7 so am thinking it is a windows 8 problem
not sure if the pics show up so here the are again hopefully?
Actually its been a windows "feature/problem" since XP (possibly earlier) that closing the lid during shutdown will not cause the system to carry on shutting down.
What actually happens is that it halts the shutdown. Then goes to sleep. Then when you lift the lid, hit the power button, it wakes up. But because it was shutting down before it resumes the shutdown.
Windows has always done that, does it on stepdad brother and sisters netbooks, mums laptop, my laptop, dads laptop, both grandparents laptops and friends laptops. Its just something windows does and always has done.
If anything its more likely that your old laptop had a fault if it wasnt doing it, or just an altered setting.
The only way I know to fix it is to go into the advanced power plan settings and look for the "lid close" activity. By default its on sleep. Change it to "Do Nothing" or similar. Whenever your laptop lid is shut it wont go to sleep anymore. It will stay running as normal, it will turn the laptop display off the save energy but the system itself will still be running, if you were to plug a mouse, keyboard and monitor in they would carry on functioning.
Then to fix lack of sleep, just set the power button activity to be sleep. or just click sleep, that works too. Although I personally preferred having it set to hibernate as my laptop only had a really short battery, when I first got the laptop its battery only lasted 2 and a half hours and rapidly degraded to the point where now you unplug it at full charge it immediately flashes the battery critical warning and gives you about 30 seconds to run to the next power point. In the mean time while it did still have a semi usable battery it was more useful to have the extra energy saving of hibernate than it was to have sleep.
Think i found the problem. I always leave my wireless ouse dongle plugged in an i think that seems to cause the laptop to go to sleep? is this a bug?

[Q] Device crashing and full battery drainage

Hi guys,
My device has started acting pretty weird for the last couple of days.
Firstly it started with sudden crash and reboot. I was shooting burst 20 images when it happened.
After the reboot, the battery went from about 70% , showed 0% and went into boot-loop, showing 0% battery every boot.
The only thing that helped was removing the battery. After a fresh start, the battery showed about 50%.
I tried to reproduce the same thing (shooting in burst mode) but couldn't repeat that error.
Then, after a few minutes, it happened again and again and again. (screenshot attached)

I reflashed original ROM and reset to factory settings. Thought that this would solve it.
Today I had something new, same thing with the sudden crash, after recording a video.
The device crashed, restarted with battery @ 0% (previously was ~55%) and went into boot-loop, showing 0% battery every boot.
After removing the battery, the device showed 25% battery. After a few times that I removed the battery, the device showed 20% and again, boot-loop.
When I connected the charger, it started charging and I got to ~35% of battery.
After rebooting the device, it suddenly showed ~50% battery.
The jump is visible at the attached screenshot:
I have a 32gb sandisk ultra type 10 memory card. I heard that they may cause lagging on the device.
Also, the battery seems to be OK, not spinning on the table.
When connected to the charger, the problem doesn't seems to be happening.
Please, any suggestion will be appreciated.
I am very frustrated.
same ****ing problem . Hope someone will solve this ****ing issue .
Maybe its a defective battery. Check if your battery have a lump or not.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
The battery appears to be in good shape. No bumps and not bloated.
I was at the service center yesterday evening.
They installed the official ROM and did factory reset.
As the device turned on - surprise! Battery shows 0%.
Their suggestion was to replace the battery charging port flex cable and provide a new battery.
Today I shall leave the device for the procedure and report back after they finish to see if it works.
Look like hardware issue
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I do hope that this will solve the problem.
Although, I see more and more users are posting about this same issue.
So, got my SGS4 couple of days ago.
What they did was changing the battery and reset the device.
It seems that the battery life got longer and it holds almost for the whole day.
I disconnect it from the charger with 100% at 5:30 ,
and I have around 20% left when I go to sleep at around 23:00
I use the device on medium level. I do have phonecalls and whatsapp majorly.
Today, I read an article that Samsung admits having problems with the SGS4 battery and offers free battery replacement.

Incorrect Battery Reporting | % Skipping | Dead @ 12%

Battery would fall 2% on the screen, it shows in battery reporting you can see the line drops steeply within 1 minute then stays stable (ignore the part where my device was asleep).
been very inaccurate with reporting % it randomly died at 12% (lowest its been since i got it 3 weeks ago) and when i power back on its at 2%. i charged back up to 40% and let it drop to 12% and the same happened.
i could live with the 3hr SOT if i got a good report of how much % was left so i can conserve usage if need be.
Running stock oxygen 2.1.1
then rooted and installed AK kernel (SOT is a little better) but still % dropping. i even super underclocked and saw the same effect
sent a ticket to OP - hoping its a defect and they can replace it

By what I read, it's a normal behavior when device wakes up from sleep.
It seems that, when device is asleep, even battery stats aren't updated, to avoid unnecessary drain. So, once it wakes up and you use it for couple minutes, android get a chance to record stats and update actual battery percentage.
Again, this is the explanation I read on such a question, and it does makes sense.

i managed to underclock enough to make the other percentages to show up - so it is working just i guess polling is slow.
the 12% dead battery isnt normal though. havnt had it since then but if reset a few times. now switched to a custom rom (keep loosing LTE) but ill figure it out, thanks!

With new battery, still not working

My Nexus 6P already needed a change of battery for a lot of use (I was driving Uber), the device reached the point where it could only be kept on for a few minutes connected to the charger, after a while it did not turn on again. I bought a new battery in Amazon brand Beltron and installed it. The first day, it came to load up to 96% and I used the device in the same percentage as for 40 minutes listening to music online until it started to go down, but normal. Once it dropped to 90% it started downloading faster and when it was about 70% it was downloaded as one point per second (exaggerated). After that, with only a few hours of use since I installed the battery, I have not managed to get the device to work again, because I leave it connected to the charger and it does not charge. I turn on the device but it immediately shuts down and is more curious than when I connect the charger, even though it had been turned off at 0%, it appears as if it had 25% but it is useless.
Things I have already done:
- Try another charger
- Remove batterystats.bin from TWRP
@Javichino Return the battery its probably a lemon. My first ordered battery from eBay had early shutdown issues. Luckily on eBay vendors value there ratings so they immediately sent a replacement. Been using that battery 5 months now working great zero issues. On Amazon you get a couple months to return so hopefully your in that time period.
Something abnormal happened this morning, when I turned on the device, without being connected to the electric current, it indicated a 35% charge which was reduced to 1% in 30 seconds. However, being at 1% was on for about 10 minutes until it finally went out.
I've been doing this several times, every time I turn it on, it appears loaded and drops to 1% in seconds ...

Your wasting time the battery is defective. Can you send it back for a replacement?
