Op2 - slow and laggy help! - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Everyone
Having a tough time with the laggy issues with my OP2
constantly freezing and hanging up and lagging.
Im using stock 3.6.0
6.0.1
build # - A2003_24_170626
Kindly help me.

One quick thing to try:
Hold down top volume button and press power to reboot the phone to "fast boot." From there, choose your language (we'll assume English for the moment). Then chose wipe... but don't wipe both the cache and data... ONLY the cache. Once you've done that, restart the phone and see if it runs better.
Another (not as quick) thing to try:
Install a custom rom on your phone. This seems daunting, but it really is not if you are good at following directions. There are plenty of custom roms and instructions on how to install them right here on these pages.
Hope that helps.

[Q] Need help for my Vibrant

Here is the story. I've got my Vibrant as a replacement for my older one two weeks ago. The old one had a problem with Home button responsiveness and at the end I decided to go with replacement. After some testing with identical firmware (freshly flashed) on both phones I found that the the new one boots much faster - around 12 sec difference (the time my audio widget is fully loaded) and overall I was very happy, until today when my phone screen turn of during some work on the browser. The buttons light was on and the screen became black.
1. I did battery pool. First boot was very slow. Force close for some koush process ( probably clockworkmod) came out .
2. I did 'wipe cache' - multiple force close after that
3. Factory reset - it was somewhat booting very slow and I decided to go with Odin.
I was able to put the phone in downloading mode and flash JFD with repartitioning. Everything looked ok during the process, but after reboot it plays Tmobile animation, startup sound, shows the letter S and stucks there.
I am able to get in stock 2e recovery. If I choose reinstall packages it goes to clockworkmod recovery (I thought clockworkrecovery should disappear after flashing with odin, but it is there) I tried flashing different usb ports - no difference.
The phone was with stock JI6 firmware, rooted with OCLF, ROM Manager with clockworkmod installed. Was working fine till today. I didn't experience any lag issues and neither of the lag fixes were installed or tested.
I played with clockworkmod recovery options format: system, data, sdcard.
I was not able to format boot - some error.
I am not a very good writer... sorry if somebody gets upset.
I will appreciate any help or idea.
Thanks
Fix for your problem
Sounds like some of the rom is either corrupted or the factory reset did not have J i-6 in it.......not enough info. Personal message me and i ll help you fix this problem.

[Q] TMo Note 3 Deciding Rebooting is the Only Solution

Ended up "solving" this by doing a stock restore via Odin, after which TouchWiz would never load an icon (crash loop). Reinstalled TWRP via Odin, then flashed ViSiON X N3 via TWRP.

Morning guys,
I've had some reboots lately and a weird situation last week where I had to do operating system surgery to get the thing to boot at all.... HOWEVER things were going quite well for some time, and it's been rooted and non-stock for months.
Nevertheless I woke up this morning and it was off, I figured the battery had died so I swapped batteries... It boots, it gets to the launcher and it loads the app icons then freezes and reboots... over and over again.
edit: to be clear, as soon as the slider bar touches the right-hand side the phone freezes, the vibration holds for several seconds, and then the device reboots. obviously not what one expects from this operation (having done it before). I was able to wipe the Cache separately... trying to wipe the Dalvik cache all by itself in an advanced wipe does this reboot thing.
OK I said, i will just clear and reflash this.
Going into TWRP, attempting to do a factory reset wipe just freezes, buzzes, and reboots immediately (to the not working OS)... in order to make this all stop I pull the battery, because now the button on the side won't seem to do a hardware poweroff for anything. Just ends up resetting the current reboot.

Any advice would be helpful now. I was just going to say forget it and grab the tiniest ROM i could find and ride it out until I upgrade the device, but now I'm just concerned with getting it active. The rebooting in recovery when trying to do a wipe does not make me feel too great. First and only problem I've had with android roms.
Thanks,
Chris

ZTE ZMax Unofficial Build question

I have flashed an unofficial build for the ZTE ZMax (Z970) and have been having a few issues with it. Hope fully someone can help even though it is "unofficial." Alright, so I'm having an issue with lag. Upon a fresh flash, reboot recovery flash to flash an add-on, a soft boot, or anytime the device leaves the operating system for whatever reason, it takes an average of 5 - 7 minutes for for the o.s. to apply boost, settings, or for the kernel auditor to begin doing its job. By that time I've already began having force closers on most apps, both system and downloaded. Also, I am having a buttons issue. Mainly the back button is the one to completely stop working but all have began having an issue with the amount of pressure it takes to have the device recognize you touching it. You know, as in I'll have to double tap the button with more pressure than it should ever take on the second tap after noticing the first tap was unsuccessfully sufficient. Then, I realize this really isn't an issue for this forum or its dev's but, maybe someone can help anyhow. When flashing the device I'm speaking of, I've got to flash a switcher.zip file to place the o.s. in the recovery position to be able to Mount it as r/w, which as I'm sure you already know also places the recovery in the o.s.'s partition. The problem I'm having is that the switcher.zip will quit switching after "x" amount of flashes. The restore.zip has always worked but the switcher.zip will quit on me. I've always been a huge fan of the ROM and would really like to stay with it so some assistance in helping to resolve these problems would be greatly appreciated!

What was the unoffical build you used i would like to flash my zte zmax z970

lag, freeze, restart after 6.0.1

hey guys, today i bought a used NOTE 4 for my mother, and when i checked the version it was 6.0.1...so i wiped everything and restarted the phone to get the best performance....but the phone lags and freezes a lot, especially in the camera, and it keep restarting all the time....what should i do? should i try to flash another FW through ODIN?
You mean you used the Factory reset option? That's not a full wipe, just resetting stuffs. And yes, you know the answer, wipe everything from a custom recovery, then flash stock MM ROM (always latest) via Odin. Earlier versions did have a reboot problem though, and lags here and there, but that's expected, but the last release, PE1, has got rid of all those problems, its a very good release already, and I am sure upcoming releases will only make it better. There are no major bugs at all, I don't even find any minor bugs except the need for a separate app to clear default apps selection.
Best of luck.

the phone is stock, it has the stock recovery, and i have the PE1 version, the exact name is "MMB29M.N910FXXU1DPE1"...and still got a lot of lag, freeze and rebooting.....is there another version?
EDIT: ok, so i flashed another MM through odin ( first time it gave me a fail) and then done a factory reset, now it's so much better, maybe not as smooth as my S6 but really fast and smooth enough...thanks for the help
EDIT: today the phone started to shutdown completly....not reboot....and you need to press the power button 10 seconds to reboot it or turn it on...is there any advice?

Just download and install Wake Lock from Google Play Store. I had the same problem and more. Once I installed Wake Lock (on a fresh install from Android 5 up to all the 6.0..1 builds) phone doesn't shut off or freeze. Most importantly no more Boot Loops..

Unable to flash custom ROM via TWRP or stock ROM via Odin.

Hello people,
I've been having serious issues with my phone for the past week. (Literal 7 days)
I noticed that my phone was suddenly freezing and then rebooting (I was running HyperRom at the time),
I didn't think too much about it, and went to install a different ROM in hopes of making it work again.
I downloaded BlackPearl and tried flashing it, but while flashing and on the "extracting to system" phase, it froze.
So I waited a good 30 minutes to make sure it was really frozen, and then force rebooted the phone (vol down + home + power).
After talking to the support team from BlackPearl (thinking it maybe was an issue with the ROM, also one of the admins is super unfriendly and will send strangers to your telegram to spam you if you disagree with them. Harassment? Seriously? Whatever, topic for another time ), they suggested to flash a stock ROM first, to make sure all the bootloader stuff etc works fine.
Went into Odin (3.13.1), loaded latest 8.0.0 firmware with SamFirm, and flashed it.
After flashing, the phone rebooted, a blue screen came up with an Android logo in the middle with rotating arrows and the words "Erasing" beneath it.
After about 10 seconds, the phone froze again.
Tried different Odin version, no luck.
Tried different stock firmware, same sh**.
Tried flashing any custom ROM, same freezes. (^all of the above caused the same freezes at random times)
When I'm in TWRP and not flashing anything, the phone does not freeze at all. That means the freezes are not random, but happen because of the flashing process.
I'm really out of options here, I have no idea how to proceed further, I've been without a working phone for the past week and I really really need it to communicate with my family.
PS: This is not my first time dabbling with custom ROMs, I've done this many times before to many different phones.
I would reaaaaally appreciate any form of help, thanks in advance <3
(and before you say it, no I cannot go to a repair shop to have them look at it, it's too expensive for me )
TWRP > Wipe > Format Data > yes
TWRP > Wipe > Advanced Wipe > System + Data + Dalvik + Cache > Swipe
TWRP > Wipe > Advanced Wipe > DATA > Repair or Change File System > Change File System > EXT2 Swipe > EXT4 Swipe > Reboot Recovery > Do Not Install
this is how I fixed same problem. I flashed new Rom right after. You can flash Stock via Odin too.
this sounds interesting!!! I like it.
Anybody else try this method?
