Hi all, I have the verizon moto e4 prepaid 7.1.1 phone and I do alot of audio recording. I am struggling to find a solution on this forum or the world wide web.
So I know that there is noise cancellation feature but it seems make my audio recordings sound distorted. Here is an example of what I mean and the video shows a solution on the PC.

Is there any way of us going into a setting to disable this or is there a custom app that someone has built to disable noise cancellation from Qualcomm.
Its so frustrating that the audio is clear and then it becomes distorted.
I am sure others have noticed this.
Thanks

Hi, i don't know if it's just my surround but whenever i try recording a video, it is always set to noise cancellation mode and i have no control to change it.
do you guys have the ability to change it from noise cancellation to stereo? i was reading about the ability to change it at phonearena's htc surround review but can't find it in my own device.
I have that option...Audio Recording Options...and it shows me Normal, Noise Reduction, and Stereo. Then again...I am having other issues with my phone like the market crashing all the time. Ringtones not working until I reboot the phone...you know the normal crap.
Hello everyone,
is there a fix, mod or even rom in which you can disable noise cancellation while recording videos? I am sure that this is a software thing so it can be turned off, just don't know how. It really makes the video sound awful and unnatural (first one or two seconds of the video sounds normal, then noise reduction kicks in).
Here is an example (not a very good one, but is shows how the noise reduction behaves when some sounds are not very loud):

I have D802 32GB version of the LG G2.
Thanks in advance for any answers.
BTW if anyone would like to create a mod or some other tool which allows disabling and enabling noise cancellation in videos for a fee, contact me via PM

I want it also. The G2 noize cancellation is poor, I want to reduce the cancellation effect or maybe disable it.
Hi just hoping someone has a solution for this. Notice that if I move with the device I get a terrible hiss or crackle in the audio. This is also noticeable if there is slight wind. Any way to reduce Mic gain or other ways to improve audio in videos. Super disappointed.
Thanks!

I wonder if it is the same problem I'm having, I just bought the phone and don't even have the right size sim yet to test audio in calls but when I recorded a video with the camera it has horrible static throughout. Even recording a silent room.
The only other test I could do of the mic was the voice recorder which worked fine.
I really need to know what is up before I pay to sim unlock it and swap my sim for the right size.
Hello! I record videos and the sounds stops when I dont speak. There are no background noises and it is really annoying. I googled it and it turns out there is a noise cancellation function that causes this problem. Is there a way that I can fix it and disable that noise cancellation thing? I run stock 4.4.2. Thank you.
I have my Verizon S5 currently sitting on 4.4.4 NK7. I've noticed no matter what video recording app I use, whether it be Snapchat or the native camera app, that audio on video playback always seems a bit distorted if the video was captured in a loud environment. Yet I see friends with other newer android phones and iPhones that have recorded footage the same venues (concerts) where their audio is much more tolerable. Has anyone else experienced this? I've been holding off on updating to lollipop, but if that is a known fix I might go that route.
For example, even recording a video on my car with the audio at a normal volume results in distorted audio quality.
Lollipop won't change anything, cause that's a big problem to not fix immediately. Are you possibly covering a mic when recording? Are phone calls clear? I'm not sure how to fix your problem, I'm just throwing out ideas. A search didn't bring up anything.
Apparently it's a common problem within the Samsung phones:

Was hoping there was a software option to adjust the gain level it records at.

I saw the xda thread but wasn't sure if it was the same. Someone said disable the noise reduction option, and that should fix it.
