I just got my 3g sim from o2 and have been trying to use it all day. in IE it usually starts off fine but after a few web pages, I just get "Locating..." in the status bar and i cannot get any data transferred without resetting. The exec still thinks it is connected and has a good signal.
The problem isnt confined to IE either, it happens with Msn too.
Has anybody else experienced this? or better still does someone know how to fix this?
Thanks
Allan.
Same has started hapening to me, looks like signal keeps dropping then picking back up. strange :/
I think I may give o2 a phone and see what they have to say about it.
Allan
i have spoken today about this issue to an o2 advisor, a after checking my post code and admiting that i am in the covered area they suggested to try having a look at the signal strength in other areas, and if it the signal will remain weak, that may be the issue with the Headset or the SIM itself.
I didn't see any difference in the 3G signal strength no matter where i go, so that could be the sim.
I just dont want to think that the issue could be in the phone itself :-(((
My assessment is that using the new SIM does not alleviate connectivity issues or random reboots.
Using my old SIM from my G1, I was having reception issues (bouncing between E and H and dropping app connections such as IM) and experiencing random resets, as many others are reporting as well.
The first person at T-mobile Customer Care told me that SIMs don't affect connectivity in any way; a few days later, one told me that changing to the new SIM would "definitely" solve my problems.
Changing the SIM had no affect whatsoever. I still have one reset per day on average, and connectivity bounces between E and H in a very laggy way. I can verify that the G1 handled the crossover from E to 3G more seemlessly, successfully reconnecting me quickly to my IM and so on without much hiccup. The G2 is not handling this as well, and doesn't seem to want to hold a connection as long as the G1 did in the same locations (e.g., my cube at work).
Disabling auto backup/restore does not solve these problems either.
Others suggest that these problems occur during times when the phone is hunting for a signal. While this might be the case, there are times when I definitely lose my signal (in the subway) and regain a weak one repeatedly...with no rebooting. So, I don't think we can definitively say that we've discovered the cause yet; though it "seems" like a radio issue, doesn't it?
I am hoping that an eventual OTA update will address this.
Has anyone who uses apps like RF Signal Tracker and Network Signal Info found that the cell ID no longer updates when on the move? The issue started a week or so ago and the only thing I can think of that's caused it is one of the many recent OTA updates to 4.3. I tried a sim card for another network in my Nexus and it persisted, so it's not a network specific issue.
Basically, when I'm driving, I like to use RF Signal Tracker in drive mode to monitor signal strength and cell IDs, particularly if I'm on a long drive for a holiday, etc. I'm now finding that the cell ID remains stuck on a tower I was connected to 15 minutes earlier, despite the signal strength being correctly reported. I find that the issue is reduced slightly if I have mobile data on. It also eventually updates if I'm stationary for minutes.
Is this a radio/modem issue? I know it's trivial, but it's annoying me.

I just flashed 4.2 and the issue disappeared.
Dear Friends,
has some who owned note 4 faced a continuous loosing data connection?
I have been facing this issue for the passed one week till now, I have tried to format the device but the problem is still there, I have not done anything to the device.
I called my ISP and they said that there is no problem with your sim card.
please advise if anyone of you had similar issue.
thanks

I've just experienced this today on my 1 day old N910C, I'm on 4G and suddenly earlier today my 4G mobile data indicator disappeared but it still showing the usual signal bars. Tested browsing, no mobile data it said. Tried putting it to Airplane mode then back to normal, didn't bring mobile data back. Rebooted it, then it's working again.
Not yet to see this problem but my friend's Note 4 had this problem. In the end he brought it to the service center and they replace the mainboard. Still wait and see if it fixes the problem.
it happened me before on other samsung devices too. generally an update fixes it but could be hardware problem too.
Hopefully its software related ive seen a slew of note 4s have this issue both variants included.. its annoying to say the least
Hi, I just got my phone, may i know whether you guys have resolved the issues?? i need to turn the flight mode on and off a few times to get the data connection back online
I sent back to Samsung services center, it seems that they said they reprogram the software. Will observe and see how it goes.
Mines all good now few updates and new provider all good ?
Hi guys, I've experienced the same issue, the mobile data connection suddenly drops (H+ icon doesn't disappear but the download arrow is off, meaning that there's no inbound traffic) and the only way to have the connection back is to to disable mobile data and than reactivate it. I've updated my phone, I even tried to install firmwares of other countries (different csc) and to change carrier but I haven't solved the problem (same situation on my friend's N4).
Hi
i had a problem with wifi. weak or no connection.
100% solution for my note:
go to settings=>location=>use GPS ONLY.
perhaps it solves also your problem...
Hello all! Just faced the same problem! Losing internet connection. Did anyone find a solution?
Note 4
Yes this is BS. If I go to a place with no data service, then travel back to a place with data service, I have to first disable then re-enable the "Mobile Data" toggle in the settings. It's such BS that this is happening. My note 3 NEVER has this problem. Starting to dislike Samsung's buggy releases.
Same issues..

----- got same problem here.. keep drop the signal.. until fedup already.. can someone solve this thing? Need answer.. T_T
Any news on topic? I'm facing with internet on mobile connection, even if bars are full and LTE sign is visible.
I've also noticed some lack of signal during usage, even if I'm constantly in city.
I think this problem surfaced ever since i downloaded the beta update for Android 7 on my Nexus 6P device. My signal coverage and internet speed ( LTE/4G/3G) started fluctuating on its own and now the condition is so bad that i haven't found any signal connectivity for the network that i use even though other users of the same network in my area are having connectivity. I tried to insert that sim on another device and it worked just fine. I have taken every measure possible, restarting, doing factory reset, downgrading to Android 6 etc etc, i just wanna confirm if there is something else i could do or giving it to the service centre is the only option left?
I cant even tell if the SIM card slot is broken because the notification bar does not show me the error that the SIM is missing or whatever, it is reading that there is a SIM card there, i'm just not getting the connectivity...
HELP ME! I LOVE MY PHONE WAAY TOO MUCH!! I DONT WANNA LOOSE IT FOR SUCH A LONG DURATION!
