I am in search of replacing my current head unit (in my Mercedes w164) with an android one but I am totally confused with all those chinese makers thus i would like some advice.
I am focusing on the below and based on my reading in the forum the android 7 with PX5 have issues with BT microphone. Did anyone hear about Android 8 and PX5 with 4GB memory? I wasn't able to find enough info.

Hi,
I am looking for a new Android HU for my Toyota Innova Crysta. I have almost zeroed in on Joying[JOYING NEWEST RAM 2GB ROM 32GB FACTORY CD PLAYER REPLACEMENT NEW ANDROID 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP SYSTEM PIP AUTO RADIO 7 INCH DOUBLE 2 DIN HD 1024*600 RESOLUTION HEAD UNIT UNIVERSAL CAR GPS RADIO BLUETOOTH 4.0 WIFI MIRROR LINK ENTERTAINMENT MULTIMEDIA SUPPORT OBD2] model.
However, while checking on the Processor, which is the Intel Atom 3GR SoFIA quad core processor, I was shocked to read that Intel has completely stopped production of these. Although the specs of the Joying box are quite appealing, when compared to the price/specs of other models based on Rockchip RK3188 processor, when comparing to the SoFIA Processor specs, it seems they are maxed out. Have the esteemed members of this forum come across Intel SoFIA based HUs? How do they rate performance wise, as compared to say a Rockchip RK3188 based unit? The Joying box specs do mention that rooting is possible. But after coming to know that it is no longer in production, I am wondering how much of a help rooting would be, if community support for the processor is no longer there.
Thanks in advance for your valuable feedback.
Cheers,
Ajay.
these are brand new, so not really much of a review out
I think I found what I am looking for in another thread. Sorry for a separate thread. Mods may choose this thread. Thank you.

Hi,
I have 2 android head units.
Both pumpkin, one is a px5 octacore, 4 gb ram, 32gb rom, other is px3 quad core, 2gb ram 16gb rom.
I'd like to switch the main pcb between the 2 (use the px5 on the 10 inch device where the px3 currently resides).
The 2 devices have different MCU's, the px5 unit is CSN2 based whereas the other uses the other more common firmware.
Is the mcu stored within the radio itself and is switching the boards going to be enough, or will I need to look to reflash the mcu firmware too (ie switch device firmware)
I'm going to give this a go tonight so thought I'd ask before I even think about the swap out
Thanks
Steve
To answer my own question, this can't be done. The other board is a px30, not a px3 and has a different pin layout to px5
Looking for a head unit to fit a golf 6 estate 2009 for my dad. Found these 2:

Struggling to find anywhere that tells me what chip they have. Both say quad core but that's it, are they px6?
If not, where can I find one?
PX6 should be 2+4 = 6 core. All PX6s I saw also has 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.
In addition xtrons say they have 32bit CPU in description.
So I would say they are not PX6. You can go to AliExpress and look for "PX6 Golf 6"

Great upgrade from my Xtrons TE103AP.
Has dvd player above the physical buttons which are located at the bottom of the unit. Display slides down to cover buttons if you want it too and also tilts forward or back depending on how you like it.

I can't find much info on the web about the GA2180A (Android 10, CPU: MTK 8227L 1.2GHz ARM A7 Quad Core, RAM: 2GB, ROM: 32GB) but it has CarPlay built in which is good so I don't need to buy a separate dongle - does anyone have this unit and think it's ok as I am thinking of buying.
I could alternatively get the Eonon GA2186 which has a faster chip (Android 10, CPU: Rockchip PX30 1.5GH Cortex A35 Quad Core; RAM: 2GB; ROM: 32GB) but without CarPlay, so would need to add the extra cost for the dongle, i'm not sure if it is worth it .
Going by the above specs how much faster/better would you think the GA2186 unit would be than the GA2180A ?
Or presumably an Xtrons with a car play dongle would be reasonably faster and still cheaper than both of the above
