stock ROM, installed viper4android both ways:
standard apk for nougat from viper homepage
zip guitarhero modified through twrp
both ends in driver install loop at every startup
google says linux should be set to permissive (due to writing rights?) and then modify an audio effects file in vendor...dev...tree with root explorer
even after trying to change linux to permissive with selinux chnager app, the discontinued one, i never get that entry audio effects in vendor dev etc somewhat
so whenever i reboot the phone, restart viper4android it wants to install the driver, says success, re same thing.
never had these problems on custom but on stock ROM, how to solve the issue please on p10 lite?
thanks ;D
Did you find a fix?

How to Install Viper4Android on Nougat 7.0

Ever since Android 5.0 Lollipop released, getting ViPER4Android to work magic on music played on Android devices has been a challenge for the users. The change of SELinux policy from permissive to enforcing broke ViPER4Android pretty bad.
But soon came a workaround to use ViPER4Android on Lollipop while still running SELinux in enforcing mode (to ensure device security). The trick worked on Android 6.0 Marshmallow as well. But with Android 7.0 Nougat update, folks over at xda have came up with an even easier way to get ViPER4Android working with sepolicy set to enforcing.
For the unknown, ViPER4Android is the mother of all sound MODs available for Android devices. And it’s not device specific. You can install ViPER4Android on any Android device and enjoy rich music experience on your device without spending a single penny on sound component hardware upgrades.

User guitardedhero over at xda has shared a zip file of ViPER4Android that you can install/flash using a custom recovery like TWRP on your Android device. This zip installs ViPER4Android on Nougat without a flaw. We tested it on our Nexus 5X and 6P running the latest builds of Android 7.0 Nougat.
Note: The ViPER4Android files and installation instructions shared on this page might also work for Lollipop and Marshmallow releases of Android.
Grab the recovery flashable ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 zip file from the download link below and follow the quick instructions to get it working on your Android Nougat device.

How to Install ViPER4Android on Nougat
Make sure you’re rooted and have TWRP recovery installed on your device.
└ For help, follow our guide on How to Root Android 7.0 Nougat.
Download the ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip file from the download button above and transfer it your device’ internal storage.
Boot into TWRP recovery and install/flash the ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip file to your device.
Reboot phone.
Download/install a root file explorer app (we recommend ES File Explorer).
└ On ES File Explorer, swipe-in from left and turn on Root explorer feature. And don’t forget to grant root access when asked.
Now using your root explorer app, go to /vendor/etc/ directory on the device and rename audio_effects.conf to audio_effects.conf.bak.
Open ViPER4Android FX app on your phone (it installed when you flashed the zip file in step 3 above).
You’ll get a notification to install V4A driver. Select YES.
It’ll take some time to install V4A driver, and while doing so it might even look like it’s stuck but you don’t worry. It’s doing its job and will finish soon.
└ If Android gives an error that the app has stuck/stopped. Be sure to select the wait option, don’t force close it.
Once you get the Driver installed message on screen, reboot your device.

That’s all. Enjoy ViPER4Android music MOD on your Android device running on Nougat.
Seems like Development has moved onto A.R.I.S.E which takes the best of this and adds stuff on top of that. The ARISE thread include flashable builds and instructions which work perfectly fine on nougat.
Did somebody manage to properly run ViperFX? I found a thread over at en.miui.com, with a flashable zip but no instructions. On my old smartphone I had to remove AudioFX and cmaudio befor flashing ViperFX, and also set selinux to permissive. I tried the same with my redmi but it didn't work. Also setting selinux to permissive causes problems with my password recognition, oddly.
Also there is a thread at 4pda with an attachment, which however I cant donwload or which is removed.
So, anybody got ViperFX running and can give a propper instruction, would be very welcome!
I use ViperFX as Magisk Module, it works fine with LOS13 by jacoghi 05.06 ROM build, just flash it after you've flash Magisk v12. It works good as well with xiaomi.eu(as i've used it on xiaomi.eu 8.1.3.0 ROM build before). And yes, i think you have to set SELinux to Permissive for it to work properly. You can download it from this link.
Hello.
I run V4A in stock 8.2.4.0 with no problem, downloaded from official site http://vipersaudio.com/blog/
I put a simple script to set selinux to permissive in tasker at device boot, and everything work´s OK.
No problem here with password or anything else.
Sorry for my english.

Hi, I am using Viper4android Fx for Magisk (created by ShadySquirrel) on Xiaomi Mi A1 which was rooted systemlessly by Magisk "patched_boot.img" method. I have installed Magisk SELinux permissive script and Busybox through Magisk Manager. Now whenever I am installing V4A Magisk module, it works for some time and then it stops working with a pop up like "Update/install driver". But when I am trying to update or install the driver, it fails with an I/O error. Reboot doesn't solve the problem. I read on Xda that SELinux permissive script needs to be enabled and storage permission needs to be given to V4A. I have both active. But still, the problem persists. If I uninstall V4A module and reinstall it, then it works, but for a few days. Then the problem starts again. Is there any workaround?
Note that, I have stock android 8.0.0 with no custom recovery and no custom kernel.

I'm not using viper actually, I stay with Dolby on Oreo with my a1.
But I guess you will find working viper and answers on the link.
I guess I have the same problem here. When I try to install Viper4Android or Viper4Arise modules, phone starts crashing with "Dirac Control Services Stopped Working" showing up every few seconds. I really love Viper and I don't want to move from Stock ROM or install any kernel. Any clue on that?
Maybe Try selinux switcher and viper4android by viper520, zhuhang and others (i Click Three Times Volume Up)
Hi guys!
First of all, please do not send me to somwhere on forum because I have tried dozen of ways do deal with problem. My phone is LG G6 running on android pie. TWRP installed, Magisk installed. Im trying to instal viper4droid. I have tried download module from Magisk itself, I have tried to download .apk file from different sources, I have tried to download .zip file, I have tried to installed as apk itself and grant root accesss, tried by TWRP, tried unify installers and **** knows what else. Trouble is, First few times it was installed but status was "not running", Today after many attempts to deal with that viper4droid installing drivers and.......after each reboot its doing it again. Moreover i have found that sometimes Magisk did not show up the newest version of v4a as a module to download. So......is somebody for the love of god know what the **** is wrong? thank you.

Hi man, there are three versions of viper4ndroid on magisk, try the viper4android fx legacy materialized as normal app after disabling play protect on google playstore. hope this helps
I will try that in a minute mate.
didnt work.
I have the same problem. I switched to viper hifi and now after reboot it is working but after some time it stops till i reboot it again. I think it is because of the pie version, on oreo everything works fine. After every reboot every mofule in magisk reinstalls. For example youtube vanced instals like new and i have to set it up after the reboot.
IIRC it required me to install viperfx (the new version, not legacy or xhifi), audio modification library and audio compatibility patch, have you done that?
I have tried all three version of viper. I have isntalled it as a apk and modules in Magisk. All possible audio patches and compatibilies mods from magisk are intalled as well.

if you still have this problem, try installing viper4android 2.7 as apk from xda lab, I was downgrading back to pie sometimes ago and couldn't get viper to work, besides the 2.7
