Is there any possibility of changing the lock screen on Android Oreo? If possible without Root. Thankful.

I cant't seem to add widgets in secure mode on my s4(I337M). Is there anyway to force a third party widget into the lock screen without root? Thanks!

There is no way of 'forcing' a widget to the lock screen without root. Even the native widgets for the lock screen are limited to the 4 or 5 widgets you can enable/disable.
You might be able to find a theme launcher from the Play Store that can do everything you're looking for.
Here are some suggestions if you need them:
Nova Launcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en
Apex Launcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anddoes.launcher&hl=en
Holo Locker
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker&hl=en
From the launchers, you can search additional themes that may better fit yours needs/wants.
Hope this helps!

Well, when you root your device, there are many ways you can accomplish geting custom widgets and application launchers onto your lock screen. When you root your device with an unlocked bootloader, you can flash a custom ROM with lock screen customization. If you are using a device that HAS a locked bootloader, such as the Verizon or AT&T S4 on MF3 - you can still root your device, install SuperSU and install custom APK's that will give you what you're looking for.
Use this link for rooting on MF3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387577
Use this link for rooting on unlocked bootloaders:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40747604
Judging that we're in the AT&T section I would assume you need the first link, but you could've found this via Search.
Hope this helps!

There's no way to put widgets on the lock screen while in secure mode. However you can still have widgets on your lock screen just when you get a PW lock then it isn't usable. Say that your doing something on your phone and you sleep it really quick and say you have the camera on the lock screen you wake the phone back up to take a picture just as long as it doesn't sleep too long and secure lock it you'll have the widgets there.

Hi I just was wondering s8 and s8+ supports substratum without root and I found an APK that you just install it and it reduces the navbar height without root . why we don't get stuff like that on our g6 ? On samsung u can do a lot of stuff without root . but with lg nothing works without root

What is the most easy way to activate Camera API v2?
The phone is a A2017G and currently on b05 Nougat and has locked bootloader and is not rooted.
I only want to activate Camera API v2
I dont want root
I dont want to unlock the bootloader
No factory reset
But I understand that most likely there is no way around rooting and unlocking the bootloader...
What I am looking for is the MOST EASY WAY that allows activating Camera API v2 with as few
other modifications of the phone.
Thanks for your input
First thing to know: is it possible? I mean, if there is no way at all, then there is no easy way to enable it.

From what I remember, you can very easily activate it with Magisk modules. However it is not true Camera2api. So, we will be able to run apps that require it but won't get any of the cool extra features.

There is no way to truly enable Camera2API ourselves. The build.prop mod does not actually enable it, just makes the camera think its enabled. ZTE is the only one who can enable Camera2API.

You would need root to modify build.prop, but as I said its pointless because it doesn't actually enable Camera2API.
But if you still want it you would add
Code:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1

Why would you want to enable it anyways? Ability to use Gcam with HDR+? That's not possible. Aside from that, the phone seemingly uses a modified HAL1 so it shouldn't have much more room for improvement

I just wondered if its possible to lock the OnePlus 5 bootloader with a custom ROM installed?
I only ask as I know it was possible with the OnePlus 2 previously.
Thanks! :good:
This is more out of interest but why would you need to lock bootloader after flashing a custom rom?

My guess is to bypass the annoying screen before booting. Don't question why they wish to do it just help them do it....
The only way I know how to lock the bootloader is to simply go into the Developers option and disable OEM unlocking. I never done it myself so not sure if this will wipe your phone or not. Just back everything up just in case.

Well it was actually possible with the OnePlus 3. So just asking if it's possible one the 5 because that unlocked bootloader loading screen is irritating lol
Hi,
Is there a way to remove the camera shortcut button on lock screen, tried to search on setting couldn't find the option. Thanks!
If you are rooted, you could try using substratum and install "lockclean". Both of these are on the play store. Are you on Oreo or Nougat?

You can use substratum without Root, but you're gonna need to pay for Andromeda, which lets you use substratum on Oreo, without any Root access.
