I am recommended to app unlock my shadow before changing the theme or anything, right?
But, I already changed my theme... And don't know if I should app unlock, whatever that means, my phone.
THanks in advanced.

I dont know about needing it for a theme, but on some applications you need it for them to work. Read http://www.allshadow.com/2008/05/23/how-to-app-unlock-your-shadow/
Yes, what the application unlock program does is unlock your phones security certificate so that you can install programs that are not signed with a security cerficate or seal. It lets you put most any program that is availible onto your phone, aswell as update the ROM.
Ok, thanks... I installed it.. How do i know its installed though?
If you can succesfully install third party programs, then you are indeed unlocked.

Is there a way over adb maybe? I don't need a lockscreen.
Do you have root? With root there is a way.
I don't. I posted this question in the same forum where they discuss removing system apps over adb but it got moved here. I thought the same method could be used for the lockscreen.
Has there been any update to this? is it possible?

Not without root, as far as I know. DragonFire1024 appears to be making progress from the looks of the "Root progress for Fire HD 8" discussion, though.
Ok
Hi, I am planning on buying a samsung s8 from my service provider, however I would like to remove some carrier apps that come with the phone and have no way to remove them without root. Is there anyway to root this device?
Never mind I've answered my own question
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
Edit: I thought that was going to remove the apps including cache and storage spaces, didn't read enough before replying, so my question still stands, is there any root for 950f? in all honesty it does not have to be permanent as long as I'm able to remove the apps.

Hi All,
I am interested (and maybe more of you) on how to install and make it work Substratum for our Oneplus 8 Pro devices without root.
If you have any solution or any method which works, please post it here.
Cheers.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. That's one of the reasons I buy unlocked phones and not from Verizon. I unlock it, root it, install Adaway and Swift Installer right off the bat.

Not that I know of. Why are you hesitant to root? It's not hard. You just need to do your homework and follow instructions. We all had to start somewhere. Also, if something goes wrong, it's rare to really brick a phone. They can almost always be recovered.

There's no risk to rooting. Grab the MDM tool it's your always go to tool to bring phone back to stock if there's an issue.
I used to root for Adaway, Viper, and Substratum but with the theme engine now and Blokada (or my personal VPN) and most of my audio listening is not on this device I actually haven't rooted a OnePlus phone in almost a year. Keep in mind if you root you'll lose L1 provisioning (capped at [email protected] on YouTube TV which is a deal breaker for me) along with Netflix and other things that require Widevine DRM to play HD content. Also, having to update the ROM you gotta disable Magisk modules, disable substratum themes, flash the OTA, then reflash TWRP, reflash Magisk, re-enable all your modules and themes. At least this is how it was on the last round of OnePlus devices. Maybe I'm getting older but just simple flash OTA and reboot at my leisure and everything still just works...

Most apps can be light or dark theme.
You can also install DarQ from XDA Labs to dark theme more apps.
Quick Settings in the app store allows you to add a ton of more toggles to quick settings.
Hope that helps.

It's a bit old but you could try Andromeda from the play store and follow the instructions with substratum both installed and access to a PC worth a try couldn't shouldn't hurt
its pointless anyway
even on rotted OxygenOS most themes dont support it so there are always issues with themes
I prefer running custom AOSP ROMs as then themes work much better in terms of versions etc

I'm using Swift Installer and no problems. I have just about everything blacked out.
Many packages are supporting it now. Liv Dark, Swift, Darc, Liv Light, Valerie. Def worth the few minutes to gain root access.

With the local install option, this is one of the easiest phones to upgrade and keep root that I've ever used. Maybe even THE easiest.

Given there's no TWRP support as long as nothing goes wrong I agree. If during a flash or if the phone randomly wants to glitch out causing a bootloop during normal usage you're sitting with a paperweight unless you're in front of a computer with ADB and your files available to jump start this device in fastboot. No TWRP and rooting and flashing the boot partition to gain root in most cases likely fine but you're playing with fire without a way to attempt to fix your device while on the go. Correct me if I'm wrong and I might reconsider my personal stance.
In addition, I love this device for the option to root, but the L1-->L3 downgrade in DRM provisioning is a partial deal breaker for my personal usage with YouTube TV. I like to watch sports and being restricted to [email protected] is awful. I could deal with the 480p component but the lack of 60 FPS hockey and football are motion blur central. Keeping it not rooted keeps it at [email protected] or [email protected]

Don't root if you have no idea what you're doing
But like everyone said previously, root is THE thing to do once you got an Android
There's no harm for your device, if you fail, you flash a whole firmware and youre good to go again
