I think of rooting my SGS5 just to get Titanium Backup to work and to stop ads from spoiling my phone..
If I ROOT with CF autoroot and just stay on stock rom... Will I loose some of the features in the phone.. Like AllShare or Screen mirroring ?

Nope. It might have been the case for the s4 but allshare cast still works after root albeit it mad fidgety and crashes after a few minutes. I have no idea why you would use screen cast anyway with all the alternatives available. Anyway the answer is yes it'll still work. It did for me.

I don't think so. Root gives you a custom status, which prevents you from getting updates. You need to get them off of sammy and odin them to your device.

Hmmm... Okay. Thats a shame.. Then I could as well go all the way and use a custom rom.. ? In ODIN I need full wipe every time ? Or what?
If I use ect OMEGA ROM I will be able to flash with NO FULL WIPE in recovery...
I dont know what to choose.......
Have a bad problem with S-Health, I rooted using Towel root, then installed Xposed, S-health crashed, so i removed xposed and s-health persisted to crash, so i then performed a factory reset, and s-health continued to crash.
The only way it'll work is if it's not updated, I personally don't want root no more i just want it to work.
Stock rom 4.4.2
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you remove the framework for xposed first? Anyways since you wiped the data partition, you may as well flash your ROM back and start from scratch. S health works when rooted with towel root but xposed still bugs it.

Crap no I didn't, I have wiped from the recovery though wouldn't that eliminate it ? I've now updated, was trying to avoid losing warranty. But now it never works. Phone isn't rooted no more and I'm not able to root with towel root either.
I'm guessing I'd have to flash a prior ROM via Odin and then re root, install xposed and then remove the framework if it's still somehow there.
Any ideas ? Thanks

Not sure larr, i dont care myself best ask about before you jump in
Try this...
1. Uninstall Xposed framework if not already.
2. Go in /system and open build.prop in a text editor
3. go to the line ( “ro.securestorage.support=true” ) and change it to false
4. Install the xposed framework
5. Clear the app data for S-Health and HealthService
6. Reboot
solution..

My Galaxy app's application hasn't been deactivated m8, it's always been on, the second i turn on S-Health it crashes, it's because my system says custom when in download mode i believe, problem is i've now updated my OS so i'd need to reflash a stock rom via odin and then re-root if i wanted to have access to the location that the user before you mentioned. Been away from home for a few days so not had the chance, might do it tomorrow.
Thanks for the suggestion, but if I turn on S-Health now i know it'll begin crashing again.

Cheers fella, an I moved to London about 7 years ago, met a girl in London, was in Liverpool last saturday for my Stag night, dressed up like a bee gee with an afro and silver stacks, had a boss night m8, well until i fell on some stairs an near ripped my leg out of my hip joint, just spent 4 hours in the hospital getting X-rays. Worth it though
An yea Liverpool is a gorgeous City, night life is amazing we smashed it the other night
So, I was going to use Cf-Auroroot like I have for every other Samsung device I've got but apparently there's an issue with it for the N915G.
What I did was put the latest super su file (i used v2.40) on my external SD card and then in Odin flash the latest TWRP recovery from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993 (you can also use the sd card fix from here too, flash in TWRP, just install supersu, then add another flash file and install the sd card fix).
Go to recovery mode and flash super su.
I found it had an error flashing cache but a factory reset fixed this so best done BEFORE setting everything up.
Let phone reset, set it up and you now have root access with a clean install of stock rom.
Happy days.
This worked fine for me and left out the step of flashing CF-Autoroot which wasn't needed.
You will still trip Knox.
I don't know if this will work flawlessly for you or for all models, especially if the bootloader is locked, but theoretically it should.
Good luck guys, happy flashing.
And HAPPY NEW YEAR...

You should not have many issues with 5.0.1. What you need to do after flashing the 5.0.1...you need to reset to factory setting. Im sure by now you know when upgrading..you still keep data from the kitkat. This may cause conflict and issues. At the moment the only issue i had is sometime i get that contact closed notifications. I have google this issue...seem like it happen to other phones to with early 5.0.1. For me im ok...cause it only happen very rarely...i hope a much later lollipop will fix this issues.

Possibly flashing the modem and non-HLOS.bin for AT&T.
I can't really say as I live in Oz and have no problems with voice calls...
I do find that my bars don't tend to go over 3 or more than halfway but that could be due to where I live and the crappy coverage we get here... No problem with voice calls though...
I am not sure if I can install SM-N915A modem on 915G.
Can someone confirm if that is possible, if so, what version?
tell me one thing is xposed framework and freedom app now working on note edge 915G lollipop
Nope. Better stick with Kitkat if you intend to use Freedom and Xposed.

Hi, I'm about to root my n910f 4.4.4 btu but I just need to know what the root "breaks".
I already know S Health is one of the things which stop working but what else (if anything)
Next question, how do you "fix" the apps so they work again while the phone is rooted?
Thank you.

S Health works perfectly fine after rooting. The only thing that it breaks is Knox (you won't ever be able to use knox anymore).
Shealth works of cours it breaks 2 things warranty XD and OTA ...well Knox works for me I rooted via towel root ....u can still get updates by disabling root temporary by using app on play store like root triangle away or something like that...and when u go to download mod ur Knox will trip and u can't fix that ...it won't affect u by any mean ...

Everything works except knox wich for the vast majority is not a problem. Warranty is a question of luck, some repair centers doesn't care about knox triped but others refuse to repair in that condition.

I rooted my first Note 4 and indeed after it was rooted S Health stopped working. Because the Note 4 had more issues I returned it to the shop and they exchanged it with a new one. My new Note 4 isn't rooted because of the S Health issue.
Dude, Root doesn't break S Health. I have it rooted since the fist day I owned it and tracks my fitness perfectly. Xposed is known to break S Health and Private mode but a Module fixes it. Right now I'm running the lastest Lollipop build and everything works perfectly fine.
The only thing that breaks is Knox. So if Samsung Pay comes to our device (right now is on S6) you couldnt use it as it requires a non triggered Knox. But, In my country, i doubt Samsung/Apple/Android pay will come to my near market.
S Health working fine on my rooted Note 4 too.
Root does NOT break S-Health. Something else did that, 100% sure. Most prolly Xposed or system bug. S-Health & Private Mode should work rooted for 99.99% of the time. the other times it's just individual phones thats the cause

You loose Knox which is a very handy feature if you like to have multiple identities / accounts (facebook, instagram etc) Or if you have multiple relations with girlfriends (no spying woman) and you also loose payments with fingerprint verification (FIDO) Actually you loose anything that uses the FIDO API This is not fixable anymore when rooted

Once you root you trip Knox. Afaik you can't reset it so certain apps like Samsung pay and s health will stop working. In the future there may or may not be a way to reset it.
You have to root it again and install build prop from playstore, search of a line like this ro. Config tima=1 and turn the 1 to 0 and save reboot your device and it will work

Nope, it won't.
Even if you factory reset your phone, the Samsung Knox trip will still be there, so you'll unable to use it.
Another option would be installing custom ROM that "tricks" apps into thinking that the knox is still on, but again, some apps might not work. In my case, when I still use a S7, my samsung gift app doesn't work anymore.
Well, if you really need to get S Health, I think this is the only option.
You should have done your learning before rooting. On ALL Samsung devices for the past 3-4 years, rooting was a one-way trip to trip Knox, and the only solution around that is patching the system so it thinks you still have Knox at 0x0.
Since Knox is a single eFuse that can only be written ONCE, you can NOT undo it. And you probably just lost your warranty.
I have downgraded my S Health version to 4.8 and now it works again - with knox tripped.
I used that version: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...ase/s-health-4-8-0-0085-android-apk-download/

I updated with odin to Oreo UK Fw .
All works well except S-Healt which claims that the phone is rooted (but I did not root and knox is 0/0) and does not start.
I tried to update S-Health but it does not work, and I can not install version 4.8 because I have this message: not installed
Unfortunately it is installed as a system app and I can only disable it and delete updates, but even so it works.

I can only install a newer version.
I try Knox status checker also, and it shows 0x0.
