Hi,
My wife's Zenfone 3 ZE520KL is exeperiencing Viber Disconnected problem when on wifi connection, she needs to turn on Mobile Cellular Data (3G/4G) to get viber connected and send/receive messages.
The wifi connection she is using is also the one I use with my Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML which can easily send/receive Viber messages. The same wifi connection is also used by a Samsung S5 and an LG G2 mini - all of which can send and receive Viber messages.
I have tried to change wifi settings of the Zenfone 3, I have even allowed Viber app unrestricted access to wifi and 3G data. In the Zenfone 3 Viber App I also set it to be "Always Connected" but as soon as it is connected to wifi, Viber is in disconnected mode. Any ideas/advise how to fix this?
Update: Btw I also tried to look for wifi advance settings that will allow me to prevent the zenfone 3 unit to continuously scan for wifi and to avoid poor wifi connections , as I wanted to try adjusting the settings based on some videos I googled suggesting possible fixes. If you know where the settings are, appreciate if you can point me in the right direction as well.
Btw my wife's zenfone 3 ze520kl is on "WW_14.2020.1711.80". Did not want to update to *.81 or *.85 or Oreo as I read of some complaints in terms of stability and shorter battery life, but if that is what is needed to fix this Viber problem i will gladly update.
Thanks in advance for any advise, tips and/or fix you can share.
Sorry, mistakenly made this into a Q&A. Just need help with a fix.

So recently many of us have been having whatsapp delaying incoming/outgoing messages. I'm trying to investigate the issue and would appreciate it very much if you guys could help me by posting a few simple things:
As there are many threads about the problem occuring when connected to Wi-Fi, I will dedicate this one to people who have the problem while using mobile data only.
- How many times Whatsapp has awaken your phone according to Wakelock Detector, and over how long.
- Is Whatsapp working perfectly for you? Do you ever receive delayed messages/have problem connecting to whatsapp (ie. trying to send a message and seeing a clock for a long time)
- Have you removed/modified anything in your phone (any system apps, google frameworks/services etc)
Thanks in advance... Hope we can solve this problem.
I had this problem too in the past. I found out it was due to my modem that was working as a modem and a router at the same time. I fixed it by turning off the router function of it and using a seperate router. It's been working fine since then.
It maybe due to a firewall blocking outgoing connections on port 5223.
Anyone who doesnt use WiFi?
Hello everyone, and thank you for reading.
I've had an issue since I've bought this phone and after looking around and trying a few different things I now turn to you for help as my last resort.
The problem is that the phone keeps disconnecting from the internet. I don't use a data plan so i only use the internet and all the related apps when i am connected to a WiFi network (Home or other). But what happens is that I'm connected one minute and sending and receiving messages on Facebook messenger or even whatsapp and the next minute it just drops the connection. I have to actually go into wireless settings every time and hit connect for it to reconnect, and it keeps doing this over and over.
I figured that maybe if i got the updates (following this technique: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rEt6wPZDnA) for it that would fix it, but apparently it didn't do anything. I currently have windows 7.8 installed successfully with all the other updates that were found.
If there's anything you could do to help me i would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers!
Hello All,
I have a Samsung note 3 SMN9005 and when wifi is connected at home it slows down my home internet.
I rang my isp and have been told that when the phone is connected to wifi it is constantly uploading.
Not sure why this is happening and was wondering if someone could please help me.
** I think it may have been Google + that was causing the issue. I disabled auto upload and the issue has stopped for now. **
Thanks
Hello, please help me, and sorry my bad english :$
I have an innjoo fire pro, this phone does not let you activate the wifi or bluetooth and neither does the mobile network, nor calls nor sms nor data, nothing at all.
I have noticed that in the settings the information of the phone does not leave any mac address of the wifi and others do not know if the problem will come out there.
I have already restored factory and nothing, remains the same ...
Also, although it has the correct time and date when I enter the WhatsApp, it tells me that it is not correct and that it is good (if it already is)
What I can do? I do not have any type of connection with the mobile and that is bad haha
Thank you very much!
i have same problem and i can do also reset but is dont working same problem again how i do?//?????
Any pro here? i have a problem a software problem
So Bought asus zenfone max pro m1 for my brother on 13th october , Whenever I am trying to update or download some big apps like DLS 2018 . It starts to download but shows waiting for wifi, but I only use wifi nothing else. Data is also off. Any solution to this?
Tried wiping cache,Reset,Safe boot .
Not only happening in play store,Some inbuilt apps like facebook, insta etc ,whenever I am trying to update it it shows that Install using data,it may charge you some fee. But I have wifi connected always not data and Data is off.
You need to go into developers settings and disable "keep mobile network (always on) running for seamless connevtivity" option in those settings. I think your WiFi doesn't give reliable connectivity, so phone goes to mobile network, which is off, so downloads pause.
Goto settings in playstore
Then select "over any network" under the app downlod preference tab...
build 327 has some issue with wifi so may be possible that due to it will not connecting to server try to update 331 using mobile internet. or flashing unmodified update file through stock recovery will definitely solve your problem.
