Hello everyone, and thank you for reading.
I've had an issue since I've bought this phone and after looking around and trying a few different things I now turn to you for help as my last resort.
The problem is that the phone keeps disconnecting from the internet. I don't use a data plan so i only use the internet and all the related apps when i am connected to a WiFi network (Home or other). But what happens is that I'm connected one minute and sending and receiving messages on Facebook messenger or even whatsapp and the next minute it just drops the connection. I have to actually go into wireless settings every time and hit connect for it to reconnect, and it keeps doing this over and over.
I figured that maybe if i got the updates (following this technique: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rEt6wPZDnA) for it that would fix it, but apparently it didn't do anything. I currently have windows 7.8 installed successfully with all the other updates that were found.
If there's anything you could do to help me i would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers!

Hey Again....
I have an issue on my Touch/Vogue...
I am having trouble connecting to the internet on my phone now. I have the HTC Touch [CMDA]. Every time I try it give me a message saying "Cannot Connect". It was working fine last night.
I am able to connect to the internet when I Sync to my computer to install programs, transfer files, etc. but no other time. When I go into my Favorites in Internet Explorer the Names are grey in color...like they're not avail anymore.
Can someone help me figure out what I have done? I don't remember messing w/ my Connection Setting. It was working last night...
Any suggestions on what I did & how to fix it?
Hi Everyone...I am having a HTC HD, on WM6.5. I have activated hotmail/live and gmail push email on my HD.
My data connection is on automatically everytime it needs to sync for new emails, but it will not switch off by itself after sync and even when it is idle again.
Anyone could point me any software to have this data connection switch off after idle for a period of time? I read in the HTC pro section that someone mentioned about issues with answering calls with the programs installed to disconnect data after sometime when phone is idle. Will this happen to HD as well?
My battery is running off quickly when data connection is on, would really appreciate if anyone could help me to solve this.
Millions thanks in advance!
HDTweak will do exactly what you want and not cause any side-effects or problems.

Hi everyone.
I always uses GPRS connection for my daily habits continuously connected.
I don’t know why suddenly sometime my msn disconnected & keep asking to retry & same goes with Opera or other Programs related to internet.
Every time I need to restart the hand held to refresh the connection sometimes happens twice a day.
No such problem with TYTN II in the past, I wonder where is the problem?
I have checked all the settings.
Hope someone can help me out.
Hello everyone! I'm a long time lurker here, and finally decided to give rooting a shot after tiring of waiting for Bell to roll out Froyo for my beloved legend.
The problem is that I can no longer connect to the internet, nor to the WiFi. The internet says it is turned on, but I have no indicator in the status bar and whenever I try to use something requiring an internet connection, the phone tells me I have no connection.
WiFi is similar, except that it continuously attempts to connect cycling through "searching, connecting, disconnected" then back to searching again.
I have tried two roms: Cyanogen 6.1 and BlaYo's stock rom and have the same issues with both.
I did what I think is a fairy thorough search through the forums for a solution, but was unsuccessful in finding one.
Thank you in advance for your help!
EDIT: I have reinstalled Cyanogenmod and I now have internet access. Still have the same wifi problem, though.
EDIT: Problem solved. As it turns out, I realized that I formatted my computer recently and didn't install my router properly.
So I'm dumb.
lol, it's always the easiest fix.
Alright, this is a frustrating issue that I've been having since day 1 with WhatsApp, and it's not even just SGS4, but with my old SGS too.
Problem:
Phone screen turns off while on WIFI, after a while of inactivity, WIFI still seems to run, but WhatsApp lost connection and takes a long time to reconnect, and usually requires a full restart of WIFI.
This does not happen on 3G for me, it only happens when WIFI is active.
Things tried:
- Turn off 3G entirely, so it only runs on WIFI.
- Reinstall WA
- Restart phone.
- Do a clean install of firmware (on my old SGS).
- Test it out on new phone~ (Brand new SGS4 i9505)
I don't know what's causing this, can anyone please help me figure this out? Let me know if you need more info.
is your router set to "always connected" or does it disconnect after sometime if no data comes in?
maybe i'm wrong but if it's only a wifi problem you maybe should look into your router settings.

Already looked into that.
Weird part is that Skype stays connected perfectly fine, but WhatsApp never does.
Please search a bit, this has been answered just a day ago.
