Hey I previously flashed back to stock from strang5litre, but could not receive ota's. So I decided to go back to strang5litre 6.02 hoping that would fix performance issues, but that did not help with lag or battery life. Is there a way I can return to stock and still receive the official nogut update when it is released?
When you flashed back to stock, why couldn't you receive OTAs? Did you disable the updater with package disabler?

It would just say update failed not sure what the error code was, wiped cache/dalivic, but that did not help either.
Do you have a Verizon SIM installed?

How did you flash back to stock? Did you use Odin? What did you flash exactly?
If you flashed to the most recent firmware there will be no ota's to get.

Well obviously there is since there where notifications everytime I rebooted the phone.
The most recent firmware won't say update failed, though. Try flashing to PI3 and see what happens. It should say that you have the latest update, unless you are in the official Nougat Beta group, then it'll say update to N OS.
is it all at possible to downgrade back to mashmallow of ANY form/sort once on Nougat?
Yes it's possible i did because I flashed the unlocked S7 version and returned back to att 7.0 and had problems with volte so I downgraded to 6.0 pk1

Didn't work? A little more details and maybe we can help you. I have went from apk1 to qa6, took the latest ota from qa6, had issues with mms so i downgraded all the way back to apk1. What files are you using to downgrade. What version are you trying to go back to. You can only go back so far (i think apk1) since your bootloader was updated along the way somewhere.

Is there anything special that I need to do to downgrade from Pie back to Oreo?
I want to try a few Pie ROMs and if I don't find anything better than my current Oreo setup I would like to be able to rollback.

You should be aware that Pie twrp's require pie firmware and not Oreo firmware.
This means: use older recovery if you want to test pie and roll back to oreo without any problems.
If using Oreo TWRP, can I just flash 5.1.7 to downgrade from 9.0.1?

Yes., but a clean flash may be necessary if problems occur, so keep that in mind.

This makes no sense, how is someone suppose to use Pie with an older Oreo version of TWRP installed to the recovery?
With PIE installed you'll need the PIE firmware version of TWRP and can you really flash Oreo in the PIE TWRP to downgrade?
hmm

You can flash pie firmware with Oreo TWRP. You just need to remove the compatibility.zip

Post 2,3 and 4 gives you everything you need to know. You can simply downgrade but use an Oreo twrp since Oreo needs Oreo ready twrp. What are your concerns?
What about details of your device?
I'm on AEX right now and I'm not able to get VoLTE using any of the firmware except November. December and January firmware doesn't work. Any solutions?

Hi,
I rooted my S10+ using the magisk patch on the firmware. I've read an article on thecustomdroid where it says I can perform an OTA without losing root. Is this correct?
Thanks in advance
Yes it can be. just make sure it's not UI update (just security/fix) update. because if it a new UI update may you not get stable experience with magisk app for incompatible issues
