Hey I previously flashed back to stock from strang5litre, but could not receive ota's. So I decided to go back to strang5litre 6.02 hoping that would fix performance issues, but that did not help with lag or battery life. Is there a way I can return to stock and still receive the official nogut update when it is released?
When you flashed back to stock, why couldn't you receive OTAs? Did you disable the updater with package disabler?

It would just say update failed not sure what the error code was, wiped cache/dalivic, but that did not help either.

How did you flash back to stock? Did you use Odin? What did you flash exactly?
If you flashed to the most recent firmware there will be no ota's to get.

Well obviously there is since there where notifications everytime I rebooted the phone.
The most recent firmware won't say update failed, though. Try flashing to PI3 and see what happens. It should say that you have the latest update, unless you are in the official Nougat Beta group, then it'll say update to N OS.

Title says it all.. I read that once you root the hero you cannot receive firmware updates OTA. Is this true? If it is, then how can we update our devices?
I had a stock ROM rooted, and was able to receive the OTA update and it successfully applied.
So I have MoDaCo installed, can I install the update over it?
thank you for any help
Anyway to install with a stock rom, without using the built in OTA update tool?

Not from sprint, but you can load the newest FreshROM over it and be updated. However be aware that the rom breaks the link between media being played the and bt device.

I assume there should be a download of it somewhere, if not sprint, google, or HTC, then on some forum....
I just received security patch update in 60mb.
Everything running very smooth so far no issues.
"Edit" users who are curious to know that bootloader is still unlocked and i downgraded to epe3 and dok2 just fine.
Just received same update. Working great.

ODIN flashable version is up on SamMobile website. I downloaded it, flashed it, then re-installed TWRP recovery and also was able to re-root the phone after the upgrade.

I'm a relative noob to flashing rom's. Can someone tell me if I'm understanding this correctly?
Installing this update will *unroot* my phone? So after installing this update through odin, I will need to install twrp again while in download mode? And then, once that's installed, reroot my phone?

I don't have a Verizon SIM card. Does anyone have a update.zip or a tool so I can upgrade? When I check for updates it fails because I don't have a SIM card inside.
Tried taking the OTA but keep getting an Error 402.
I odin'd back to stock using the method on this site and even factory reset after as well.
Anyone know what the error is?
Or does anyone have an alternate way to update? I'm currently on PE1.

Use Odin or Smart Switch to upgrade to PI3, then use the update.zip I linked.

Im talking about the size of the download. Usually these minor updates are 200 MB.
Btw, this doesn't even include April security patch.
Just received B25 OTA but when I ask it to install, phone reboots into TWRP and I can't install from TWRP. Later I get a notification that update failed. I tried FlashFire, it detects the B25 OTA but will not install gives message "Unencrypted ....".

To get the stock OTA to work , you need the stock recovery (TWRP won't work).
Not sure about Flashfire?

It is 7.1.1 and is the March 2017 security updates. It does add night light and is supposed to fix the DND issues. It also has a modem patch.

Everything you need to know is in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-guide-updates-to-stock-files-via-t3469484
Make a backup first, it (should) completely wipe your data.

Can you prove this?
Problem that I have found was with the Fingerprint sensor. Before I could unlock my phone easy. Now I have to stick my tongue out, while standing on my head, one leg horizontal, and he the other leg vertical. Wiping cache helps a little but not a lot. I removed fingerprints and re-added them. Helps a little.

I don't understand the question. If you're on B25, there is no need. If you're on B19 and want the B25 update, you'll either need to be stock or wait for a flash package before updating, since you've modified some partitions.
The OTA files only work directly on fully stock phones.

Sorry if I weren't clear, currently I have Nougat 7.1.1 and my version is 0B19 and I want to install the 0B25 that was pushed OTA yesterday. I thought I was running B19 stock. I am Unlocked, TWRP and Rooted. If there is something that has been modified in my system then as you stated, I guess I have to wait for a B25 ZIP to flash.
Thank you for your help.

So I found this on the XDA home page. It says SM-935A is required (I have SM-935U) BUT I thought that model number mostly applies to which carrier you're using...So if I flash the lates AT&T version via Odin can I then update to this Oreo build? Here's the article:

Thanks. I might hold off till there's a more stable build. If I didn't need to wipe everything I might give it a try.
But in case I change my mind, you extract the update.zip and apply update from sdcard, right?
