is it possible to overclock kirin 620 cpu?
i just want to try it for fun, im keeping ut downclocked anyway because battery life is horrible lol

Has anyone underclocked their Galaxy S? I personally think that overclock is a bit of a placebo effect so I just want to know if anyone has underclocked their phone and if they can kindly share the performance of the phone as well as some benchmarks.
I've seen SGS2 underclocked right down to 500mhz and still running smooth but is that due to the efficiently of the Cortex A9 or because it's dual core?
Feel free to share your experiences and benchmarks.

I think we may achive smooth performance with some minor glitch at 800MHz and some minor improvement in battery.
But i dont see a point in underclocking,1GHz is just perfect for galaxy s.Moreover whats the point of buying so costly device and then underclock it???

Lol i underclocked mine to 100 mhz but it dont run good at all. Ur phone is not running a gig all the time if it did ud loose use up ur battery in like 4 hours, it goes from 100 to 1000 mhz whenever it needs it, you can potentially set it to 400 and it will function but the battery saving wouldnt be that much, i think the screen takes at least half of your battery, since my phone on standby can do like two to three days and i can also kill it in 4 hours playing a game or using gps or surfing the web if anything underclock ( they call it undervolt) to 800 mhz and you will barely notice, your score on the benchmark is affected because most phones gpu is directly controlled by the cpu so undervolting will affect your fps which will give you laggy games or crappy benchmark scores

Stock is best try miui it runs really smooth on sgs

I actually Overclock it to 1.2..
I overclocked it to 1.2 and undervolt the from 800-1.2 -50mV
it was stable.. but then i undervolt -100mV from 100-200Mhz and my SGS crahsed..
I use semaphore 1.3.3... lol any idea what settings i should use ? xD

UV in 25mV steps. Don't just try UV'ing 100mV straight away.
i see that some kernels have the GPU overclocked by default
is it safe for the gpu to be overclocked all the time?

Yes, I'm pretty sure it is.
I'm not sure how it affects your battery though, but I assume that there's a sleep mode/downclock/whatever for the GPU too(not just the CPU).
even if you play games for a couple of hours?

As long as the numbers aren't crazy high (like over 700MHz) and it doesn't crash it should be safe.
Battery life will probably be shorter if you play games with an overclocked GPU though.
okay, thanks for the help
You'll also probably want a rather moderate overclock if you don't want your battery life to suck.
Clocks over 600MHz are very high and will probably suck lots of power. Try to find something in the range of 450-600MHz

How to disable a15 cores? Use only a7 cores for battery life. is ıt possible ? (sorry my bad english)

don't use the phone for heavy stuff and u don't use A15 cause no kernel is available for that porpuse

Root your phone and use app like system tuner or setcpu and underclock to 600 mhz, it will only use the A7 and you won't feel any performance degradation unless you play heavy games with a bit slow loading.
Hay everyone!
here, i have some questions... here it goes
Is there any possibility that we will get OC (overclock) for our p8 lite?
If we will get cpu oc will it be possible to overclock GPU?
How much is our gpu capable of and whats the current clock?
Vulkan API support one day???
Thanks!

All i need is High performance PC and firmware, but i don't have good enough pc, i tried, to Modify CPU File via ADB but only what i git is Fail! So, if you can, you can try to Modify it too! Maybe you succeed

OC - definetly kernel related
Vulkan API - pretty old gpu sadly, it can receive vulkan, but it depends on Mali
You may be able to overclock the CPU, but it isn't worth it. Already the battery life is bad to terrible(at least in my case) so overclocking a CPU-> making it more power-hungry will crush the battery life. And I'm pretty sure with overclocking we will get maximum +3K points in Antutu

We have a kernel but that's is incomplete so, it may have bugs! And comes with high risk of bricking device! And other thing it is impossible to get 4-8 cores out of sleep, maybe someone will put them on work but right now? Pff! Dream with eyes closed

Kernel is complete
4-8 cores are working correctly, but most of the apps can't see that
Never bricked this phone with a esal kernel

1. I don't cate about battery usage, i just want max performance
2.i don't have low battery life, idk why
3. If my battery will have problem, i will just brick my phone and send back to service xd if they will nit repair it, unbrick and no problem
4.power banks

My Phone doesnt goes over 1,5GHz while benchmarking or so
With Performance gevornour its staying at 1,4 GHz
I dont know what i should do

Maybe it's because you are smoking so much ****? [emoji2]
Did you try the basics like rebooting, clearing cache,
What happened to your pnone? I can not get your means, would you like to share more information with us? We can better help you.

The Snapdragon 820 is composed of two LITTLE cores at 1.5 GHz max, and two big cores at 2.15 GHz max. Your crappy benchmark app is reading the LITTLE cores' speed. Forget about it and get on with life
