its taking forever stuck in "reflash service bootloader" 2000 seconds and still counting
using ost 6.1.2 version to downgrade from oreo ofc to nougat
You need to flash sbl/aboot from Nougat and after that use OST LA 6.0.4.
You can get sbl/aboot by installing Dec OTA via SD card from recovery. It will fail, but you will get recovery, sbl, and aboot from Nougat. So you can use old OST tool.

i have downloaded that original 1000 from same links he gave me and i have 2 versions
1000 ta and 1025 from mena region thread
1000 ta failed to install so i tried ta 1025 software and it flashed successfully with ost 6.0.4 .
You had to install Dec or Jan OTA update for TA-1000 through recovery in order to get Nougat sbl/aboot for TA-1000. I can find a link in a couple of hours, sorry not at the computer atm. Or you can find yourself in OTA Update DDLs thread. Someone posted it in comments.
Try this one https://mega.nz/#!uFUxSIBA!t-5slu-0UdVxawyt0tDG_l2NnKQjSo_zaEOplVSATYE. It's 7.1.1. Jan OTA for TA-1000. Install it through recovery, it will fail, but you will get recovery, sbl, aboot partitions flashed to 71.1 for TA-1000. After that try to flash TA-1000 factory image using OST LA 6.0.4

Surely your way of success? Because I think if you can not flash fw with OST 6.0.4 then the phone will hang logo, because there is no fw 8.0 for Nokia 6 format nb0
He can always install Oreo from SD card if there is working recovery. Oreo OTA has no preconditions, but his goal is to revert to Nougat. OST 6.0.4 does not work with Oreo sbl/aboot, OST 6.1.2 does not work either without online authentication.

Trying to upgrade my ZE551KL to Marshmallow but I've hit an issue. I'll recap all the steps I went through today and then the error I'm getting:
Started the day with firmware 763
Took a backup with TWRP
Updated FW to 1106, 1234 and 1531 in sequence in order to prepare for update to Marshmallow
Took one more backup with TWRP
Attempted update to MM using download from ASUS, manually initiating from recovery, got the error below
Attempted update to MM again using the notification prompt after booting phone with update file on SD card (per ASUS' instructions), got the same result, below.
The error text is this:
Code:
Can't install this M package (Tue May 17 23:05:50 CST 2016)
L less than 20160426 build (Tue Dec 1 17:16:17 CST 2015)
E:Error in /sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
E: fota_return_code 409
It seems this error typically means that the current Lollipop version is old and needs to be updated to the latest before trying to update to MM. I've validated in the About screen that my firmware version is indeed 1531 so I'm not sure what else I need to do.
I apologize if this question has been answered elsewhere. I hunted around for a while on this forum and using Google and didn't find anyone that seemed to be in this same situation.
Thank you for the help!
did you try with the stock recovery.img of 1531?
I had the exact same problem the only thing worked with TWRP was to use the back2stock method.

Well I never actually flashed TWRP, I just booted it using fastboot each time I needed it. Does flashing the OTA updates update the recovery or do I have to do that manually?
I got the exact error you are getting with original recovery or TWRP. The only difference is that I was using MM and deleted the OS by mistake so I could not reflash official MM . back2stock method was the only way. Now I have TWRP, official MM via back2stock and root at the same time.
I am sure more expert members can give you better advice.

Worked in my case when I updated to latest lollipop firmware available.
(Actually I never installed the complete firmware, just flashed
Code:
boot.img
and
Code:
recovery.img
for the latest lollipop firmware available and marshmallow FW installed like a charm, though I'd suggest you install the complete lollipop framework)
Here is what I did to downgrade from 6.0 to 5.0:
1- Download and Install all the required drivers
https://mega.nz/#!tENxTCYI!U_2KD352HgqqsK2qkY7g4xsUIVMhHwOol9aiiDMIs28
2- Download the asus flash tool 1.14
https://mega.nz/#!JF91lazI!lQSdQcN5YXIFsaCWtTVHfsvGK1u82NKvy8-X9XIfR0g
3- Download the Latest WW_ZE551ML_2.20.40.194_20160713.raw firmware [Mega Mirror]
https://mega.nz/#!MRtTCCzZ!c2qoqIX8drgNRy2KxPV_iiBVKHoW2ppFdwRUsLjIWq4
4- Use the ASUS flash tool to flash the raw image
-Double click the ASUS flash tool Icon to launch it
-reboot your phone on bootloader mode and connect it to your PC
-Choose your device from the list which is in ASUS flash tool
-Locate the raw image
-Click on the serial number which appears on the screen within ASUS flash tool
-Select wipe data
-Click the start button to start flashing
-Wait until you see the message successfully flashed
Note that the whole flashing process takes about 6 minutes.
Enjoy!

Hi, I do not speak English very well, but I'll try.
First go to the website of Asus, and download the firmware .. 184 or this link (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Ze...user.zip?_ga=1.147549438.850793534.1463019251) and put the external SD Card!!!
NOTE: If your bootloader is similar to the image (with the blue letters ..), you just need to step 3 of this my turorial
ht*tp://www*androidheadlines*com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/asus-zenfone-2-google-howto-1.jpg (remove "*" again^^)
1. Go to this page (https://www.techmesto.com/root-zenfone-2/) and follow the steps of the second method..
1.1 Download Z00A_WW_2.20.40.184 version (https://mega.co.nz/#F!k4MHiAgL!dVuOKeH3eokcwPSNI79ffw)
1.2 Download and extract FlashTools (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3301263&d=1431011927)
1.3 Extract Z00A_WW_2.20.40.184_system_w_root.zip (for step 1.1) and put the "system.img" in the folder of FlashTools together with "boot.img", "droidboot.img" and "recovery.img"
2. Now follow the steps of the second method (https://www.techmesto.com/root-zenfone-2/), from step 7 to 11;
3. Also I was stuck in the bootloader after this procedure... BUT, you need to download this file (the first method): http://www.mediafire.com/download/v6m7n9j0gqins9b/CWM_Zenfone_2_Intel.zip;
3.1 And follow the steps from 1 to 9 (the first method): https://www.techmesto.com/root-zenfone-2/... EXCEPT: The steps include the root (you do not need the root ..)
3.2 When you are already in CWM recovery, only install the firmware 184 (of start.. of Asus) which is in the external SD Card ... and end ^^.
3.3 I recommend wipe data / factory after starting the device first time...

I had been running the MM beta up until this point. I just flashed the .184 RAW file. What made me go back you ask? I figured out that Google Opinion Rewards was not working. I can't live without that.
I can confirm that this method works for ZE550ML on mm beta .69 firmware. I downloaded AFT and flash RAW (Lollipop .149 firmware). Successfully downgraded bootloader unlocked and flashed CM13.
P.S. My status before downgrade was unrooted and bootloader locked and was on .69 mm beta build.

Here's the link for unlocking bootloader on lollipop

Also there's a method by shakalaca to unlock bootloader in mm beta. I haven't tried it personally because many report that their phones got bricked and most of them could be recovered by xFSTK method.

It is optional. If you want to perform clean install then you can go to TWRP main menu, Click on Wipe and swipe to factory reset
Or you can totally skip this step.
But it is always better to take a backup of your data --> Here is the guide to backup your data

were you able to solve this? I am having the same problem.
i think in a few days this will become ota from huawei, right?
Absolutely. Usually it's 1-2 weeks from it's appearance on FF.
I have twisted mate 8 rom and I am interested in upgrading.. downloaded 580 but wasn't able to flash in using twrp .. read somewhere that I would need rom-pv file so downloaded 560-pv but have a question before flashing it.. will it make the phone full stock ?? I mean will it also remove twrp recovery and flash the original one ?

When I try to flash in TWRP the update.zip I get a 'error 7' notification. In the file is no assert code so what could cause the problem?

Hello everyone,
i messed up: i did the Dec Update for my german Nokia 6 TA-1021 with the updater and the weird chinese "TWRP". Well the recovery made a clean flash with the update file but it only contained a dirty flash update... So basically i need a full firmware for Germany (unbranded) TA-1021 :crying:
For me it does not matter what version since i can update it from there. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

What i told you 1 minute ago? keep calm!!! i have myself a nokia 6 and i'ts a 1021. this rom is for that version!
i've flashed this rom and my nokia is still alive.
The most important thing is boot the phone in download mode, i'ts half of work
[solved]
I solved it this way: i downloaded the patched OST from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/development/nokia-6-official-firmware-mena-region-t3664441.
The ZIP of canaop92 did not work for my phone (see EDIT), but gave me a nb0 file for the following
I clicked "edit Device Information" in OST, DO NOT CLICK ON 'NEXT' after that
This installs a functional fastboot onto the device.
The method of canapo92 did not work, explained in my EDIT. So I had to improvise: I downloaded (after an hour of searching for that) a full firmware of the Nokia 6 TA-1021 and mirrored it:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kCKSid5Bf89yA3DyX8Y2gAZHq4VK6_p6/view?usp=sharing
https://c.web.de/@337613479567432195/P_ZJsw0bRtiH-KwIPvbjeA
https://1drv.ms/u/s!Agmh3wcexsuyjWysvmeASmEW66ah
https://nextcloud.hobbyist-overclock.de/index.php/s/RX7SxFQcLF7Pj9B
(download one of the mirrors)
Then I 'fastboot flash'ed the following .img files to the device: boot, cache, cda, hidden, mdtp, misc, persist, recovery, splash, system and userdata
That was it - everything working again
Thanks canapo92 for the Help and the original download link
EDIT: the flash without edit phone information did not work, my phone rebooted itself into recovery... weird... so i experimented. I tried to repeat the process with Android working again and now it wiorks

I followed all your steps, I flashed all the .img on my phone and at the end all the OTAs were downloaded until December, but still showing the model TA-1025, not a TA-1021 like I wanted. I've also done a hard reset, but nothing has changed.

Look buddy, when you bought your, at that time if your phone showed up TA-1025 then after flashing it will show you 1025, if it was TA-1021 then it will show you 1021.
You dont have to check the build.prop file, as every nokia 6 TA-1021 shows TA-1025 into its build.prop file
Flash your phone with MENA firmware, it will flash your phone to 1021 or 1025 with june security patch update
Then apply all updates till December
Everything you can find from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/how-to/guide-oreo-follow-steps-t3723776
Follow all the steps care fully
If you want to update to oreo then
Sign up with beta labs from here https://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones/betalabs
And check if your phone gets the oreo update or not
If not then follow this thread for manually update to oreo https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/how-to/guide-oreo-follow-steps-t3723776
Remember OTA will require wifi connection to get into your phone
Also be calm and read every step carefully, this will take you to least chance to get stuck into any problems.
Press thanks button if you find this helpful
Happy flashing

Thanks mate, but I have not explained myself well. My phone is a original TA-1000. I have flashed it following the thread of the MENA firmware and then it shows that it is a TA-1025, up to there everything is correct because he only downloads all the OTAs until December, 7.1.2 included. The fact is that I wanted to flash it to TA-1021 to see if I can solve the problem of the horrible sound in calls and that's why I tried to flash this ROM of TA-1021.

Then i would like to tell you that, there is no firmware which is made for TA-1021, the varient varries from region to region
If you phone 1021 then it wont change to 1025 and if it 1025 then it wont change to 1021, may be it is the reason that you get device name as unknown right
The mena firmware is an international varient...
Well i would like to suggest you, that if you want the features then u might go with mena firmware and if you want to fix these then i would suggest you flash back the chinese varient and wait for developers to develop a good custom rom for all users...
Till stay relaxed, and if i will get any fix for it then i would surely share those methods..

Thanks in advance

Okay, your friend told me that you have gained recovery access again. Please do not worry, we can rescue your phone.
First, you have to do Step 1 and 2 of this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/how-to/guide-upgrade-downgrade-nougat-oreo-t3752393 but you have to use a firmware file that matches your first letters of your phone's serial number (codename) like PLE or D1C. Using the firmware from other phones can cause unexpected issues but it should boot. Reboot you phone, it won't boot there but that is normal. Apply the OST BL patch again and then you can proceed with 'fastboot flash'-ing the full Nougat firmware or try the homebrew firmware from @hikari_calyx

Official site does not have fastboot ROM, those zips are meant to be flashed via stock recovery.
Sent from my ASUS_X01BDA using Tapatalk
Is there a technical reason why you can rollback to the last month's ROM from the Asus website with the stock recovery? Has the filesystem changed or something?

Dear simply visit any Asus service center they will downgrade it to Oreo, I visited today, and one interesting thing is they don't have any stable update for now . Soon a newer fota update will release.

I posted here about the issues I had. I know that at first the problem is the old firmware can't be installed over newer firmware, when I fix that problem the zip package is no longer signed correctly.
Please could you explain why the method you suggest will work.
Yes it's work i done with 2 max pro m2

In case of system update failure the zip file you are trying to flash will be corrupted. (Happened with me many times as i renamed the oreo stock rom to above the build number of the pie update so my phone would treat the downloaded oreo rom to be new .but during the system update after reaching aroung 25 % it displayed an error and the next thing i remember is the zip file getting corrupted) so always keep a backup!
On 25th of april new pie update was released which fixed screen blinking issue.
